You guys missed the point !
Previous owners had it planned, the truck sits long enough for the trees in the back to get big enough to log, you cut them down with your new saw, and then load them up In the truck, take them to the mill, while pushing snow of the road ! 👌✔
Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍

Ohhhh, makes perfect sense. The rust holes are to let the water drain away from the roots. That's probably the same reason they used gravel instead of dirt.

Hey! Justin has great taste in trucks! I worked for an Intl truck dealership for 44 years. 42 years in parts and 2 years as head of warranty. I saw alot of trucks come through the dealership especially the 4900's with the DT466 in them. Always like watching you guys videos!

Higher gears 2or3 gear and it will go anywhere, to much horsepower on the ground, you learn this stuff by hauling belly dumps doubles, 2or3or4 gear if you have enough power in your motor, allways works, never get stuck again, nice chain saw, thanks BigAl California.

Same here. I switched my dawgs over to the long version so i can set it down on soft ground without the blade tipping in to the dirt. Its only 13 bucks for the west coast version well worth it for me.

That is a great saw. Just be careful fuelling it. Let it set a minute before taking the cap off. Sthil has a problem with the fuel spraying out. If you open them to quickly after running for a while. I found just letting it sit for a couple of minutes stops the issue. God bless

The 461 is a beautiful saw and congratulations on receiving a very welcome gift! They are a little small for the very large Monterey Pines we have here in New Zealand. Generally we use 660 Stihls.

  • @Graveltrucking
    @Graveltrucking 6 лет назад +2

The 461 will handle a 32 inch bar if you do so go with the Rollomatic ES Light with a skip tooth chain you may have to change the rim sprocket. I put the 32 inch bar on my 460 mag when the 28 inch bar I had wore out I do like the 32. I have used both 460 and 461 the 460 has more grunt.

    • @devinholland2189

When he puts the GPS and laser sensors height on that blade, don't forget to put on a 0.015" swing out shim on the fine adjust. That way you can swing out the shim after you adjust the blade to the road surface height, thus getting the necessary clearance so you just clean the lane paint markings and don't peel them off the road. Safety first. ;-)

I have this very saw. 25" bar and everything. I run the full chisel. Cuts fast but you can't let it hit dirt or rock. And you have to watch the tip. Definitely will kick back like a mofo . Gotta be careful. And definitely get some chaps -- and wear 'em. Mine were sitting in my basement when I cut my knee open. Good luck with your new saw. You should like it.

Justin's new truck has keep back 50ft stickers because of loose flying bed parts, If it was a Dodge truck it would be keep back 100 ft because of flying Ball joints and drive line components. I see the potential in repairing that box if a guy puts time and steel into it, it would look smarter in a hurry. I was thinking the blades not strong enough but seeing as the trucks auto, and needs a huge amount of weight to get traction in mud or
snow it won't have enough balls to hurt it. i know a guy has a 466 auto grain truck it's nothing special in the power department either. The new
saws nice Of course the new blades not sharp, they wouldn't want anybody cutting themselves with it getting it out of the box L.O.L .
Thanks for the video, take care guys.

I bought a MS 461 at the Florence flea market, for $300, back in August. I'm pretty sure that guy that runs the small engine repair business there, didn't know what he had. One of his guys had no idea how to start it. I jumped on that $1100 saw for $300. It didn't have the right spark plug in it. After I bought it, I got the right spark plug for it and it fired up on the first pull.

I have a confession.....I purchased my first Stihl chainsaw recently. The short story is....I had a bad experience with a dealer and it turned me off from Stihl until a few weeks ago. I was in a bind, had 2 chainsaws "trashed" from employees (another long story) and needed a chainsaw to finish a job. My son-in-law was a "died in the wool" Stihl fan and his dealer was VERY close to my house. I stopped in at 4:45 and walked out with a brand new MS180 before 5:00 with a two year warranty, both tanks full, chain guard and a six pack of oil mix for $200.00!!! I've used that little saw for about six hours so far and I have to admit, I'm VERY impressed with that little saw!!! Only weighs 9 pounds, plenty of power and it's become "my go to saw" on the job site lately. AND the employees have been warned "DON'T TOUCH IT"!!! :-)
