I really enjoyed storytime. It's so fun listening to you and getting to know you better. I've had a similar story as Britt. I was 18 years old and on a summer holiday with a friend in Italy. Just a young blond girl taking a trip. We took a boat to the island on one of the big lakes. Coming of the boat, a boy walked past us and said "hi". So we were friendly and greeted him as well. And then this guy started following us. So we walked a little faster and he did as well. We were speed walking, took a corner, ran for a bit and started walking again. This guy kept following. So we were freaking out, took an other corner; ran a few metres, and this guy was still there. Than around the next corner luckily there was a little supermarket. So we ran into the shop, peaked out of the window and saw him looking where we had gone. We hid behind the shelves and waited for quite a while. When we came outside he was gone. It gave us quite a scare and good story to tell. Never forgot it. Hope you'll tell us more stories. It would be fun having mana Jo or Glenna telling their stories. Love from Holland.

I can’t imagine how scary that was for you Britt! One of the scariest moments for me was when I was little, it was just me, my brother and my Mom living in an apartment with not so great secure locks on the doors. Someone was banging on our door in the middle of the night demanding to be let in. My mom called the building manager & the police, they managed to catch the guy. The next morning we found tons of little dents in the door, the manager said he had a gun & that’s what he was pounding on the door with. To this day, I am very security conscious about making sure everything is locked up tight! It was very scary!

That was scary I’m sure,Britt. 😱😱So happy you got out of that situation unscathed. It’s frightening enough being in a foreign Country, especially when you don’t know the language well. God had a plan for you,and it included keeping you safe. Fortunately I was never put in a scary situation like that, but my brother was when he was young. He literally almost got abducted…but my older sisters & brothers saved him but telling him “Mom is right over there. Let’s go. She’s waiting.”🩷 Think my mom was pregnant with me, or holding me.

I have loads of embarrassing moments, but this is one of my favorites:I grew up going to Calabogie, Ontario each summer. My first trip happened when I was 6 weeks old, so quite literally, it was my entire childhood, and we'd go up for 2 weeks at least, and often we went back for another week over Labor Day at the end of summer, if not more often. I am the youngest and at this particular time, I was about 7 or 8 years old, as I recall. My sister, Kim, who is 5 years older, and I were the only ones living at home -our 4 older sisters were all married at this time. Kim often asked our cousin, Sylvia along on our trips, and my dad always took my grandfather, Pap. So as often happened, Dad and Pap went off fishing in the boat, and Kim and Sylvia had hooked up with a group of young people that summer, and all of them had taken another boat out to the island nearest our part of the lake, to explore and have a picnic. That older group had spent a lot of time frolicking in a bunch of inner tubes provided by the lodge's owner and of course there was one of those giant tractor ones that I was dying to get into, but it was always hogged up by the big boys. So this day, everyone was gone, and the big tube was there on the shore, piled with the other tubes. My time had arrived!
So I hauled it out to the dock and set it in the water, then carefully sat myself down into it's warmth. It was so big, though, that once in, I had no real control, but I wasn't worried. At first. My mother, btw, was on the shore watching. So the lake is fairly popular and there are loads of fisherman on motor boats and so there's quite a bit of movement to the water. In no time, I drifted quite a distance from the dock, and as I said before, I couldn't reach to paddle. At this point, my mom is on the end of the dock, encouraging me to swim back. My mother never learned to swim, btw. So she's hollering at me, and I'm drifting further away, and it suddenly hits me that I'm never gonna see my mother again. So I begin to cry, and I'm waving to my mom, "Bye, Mommy!"
Now, here's the thing. I knew this late pretty well. It is large enough that I couldn't begin to walk around it, but I knew that it was a LAKE - a contained body of water. Why I was so sure I'd never see Mom again, I don't know. But she was upset, I was upset. Finally a couple of fishermen come in from fishing, in their V-bottomed boat, and once they understand why the two of us are so distraught, they turn their boat in my direction and come for me. When they got to me, I was so frightened, I didn't know how to get myself into their boat. "Just stand up, honey. It's not deep." NOT DEEP?? It wasn't past the middle of my thighs! It was muddy and soft and full of weeds, but it was low! I could have walked the entire way across that patch of weeds to my mother, but these kind fishermen little me into the boat and took me back to my mother. I was pathetic, now sobbing as much from embarrassment as anything else. My mother told that story over and over that summer. "Bye, Mommy!"

I love “Storytime”. And I like the idea of interviewing people too!
Also- would’ve loved to have heard the story of how u two met!
Here’s a story: in 9th grade, (my HS was in an OLDER than dirt building )…. I had bio class which consisted of long wooden tables and 6-8 students at a table…. I was sliding behind a fellow students chair to get to my seat …. As I slid myself behind their chair.. butt brushing up against the long wooden table behind me…. I must’ve picked up a splinter. (in MY BUTTOCKS!! lol). Hours of school went by and my “butt cheek” was hurting , itchy ,…. So sore. I finally went to school nurse and she had me slide my waist band down to look and there she saw the end of a splinter sticking out. She took a tweezer and removed a literal 2 in shard of wood from my BUTT!! I was so embarrassed as she “cleaned my butt cheek with some solution to prevent infection 🤦🏼‍♀️

When I was very young I was in the “Brownies” (under girl scouts) , we were in a parade dressed as clowns , somehow I wandered away from the parade in a very scary neighborhood, my clothes were stuffed with other clothes to make me look fat, those clothes were falling out and onto the ground and people were behind me picking up the clothes, finally I saw a older lady out getting her newspaper and I ran to her , she got ahold of my parents and they picked me up. So scary for a little girl.

My daughter is 16 now & we live just outside of Denver. When she was 14 & walking our black lab, some men tried to kidnap & traffic her. Luckily for her, our lab Willow is 100lbs & does not like men except for my husband & my dad. So Willow went crazy on the 3 men & scared them away & my sweet girl got home safely. We got the police involved & although they didn’t catch them, they were on the lookout & we’ve never seen them again. Also, my daughter never goes outside alone without the dog (& we live in a beautiful, safe suburb)…it’s SO scary!

Goodness sakes! I had to come back and watch this one again. Man, that is quite the story Brittany! - so glad you got out of that situation unharmed. And you know, it's much easier to talk about after many years have gone by. I was nearly robbed at an ATM one time at least 20 years ago - I could see two mexican men walking up alongside from the back of my car just as I was getting my money out, so I quickly grabbed my receipt and drove forward very fast. I was like WHEW! that could have been bad! Just like your story could have been bad, but thanks to quick thinking or instincts or survival skills - you were able to get out of it! So glad you did!! Take Care.

My dad may he rest in peace was well a klutz. Starting with when he was a little a kid I heard this story that he was knocking at his families front door (it was a glass door) when suddenly his fist went through the glass door and the entire door shattered. Then the first time he met my moms parents he was over their house for dinner and they asked him to open their sliding door to their balcony (it was a Friday night), he pulled the door hard that the glass shattered into my moms parents living room, since it was a friday night they couldnt get anyone in to fix it until the following week. Oh and when I was a young kid he managed to close our garage door on his finger. He sadly passed away in July 2020 from aggressive lung cancer but we often talk about how much of a klutz he was. Feel free to share this for your story time next week Jared and Britt

I am a 61 year old grandmother to 7 wonderful grandchildren and looking at me you would never think I had such an interesting period of time in my 30's. I had been abused as a child and had problems with depression and anxiety that weren't treated properly. I had a complete breakdown in my early 30's and it turned out I have multiple personality disorder. One of my personalities decided I needed help and that if he set fires helpers would come. I ended up in the forensic unit of the psych hospital and then jail and prison. After many years of therapy and finding the proper medication I have been crime free and I'm able to function fairly normally in society. I have so many crazy stories from that time I could take up a whole series of shows myself. Love you both to bits.

Great video my most embarrassing story happened when I was in my young 20s. Long story short I went to a friends house to go to lunch with her. She made me wait a very long time because she had to finish up some kind of work. She made me wait in her bedroom because she said she would be distracted if I was in the office with her. Anyways, I was just ending a cold and took some kind of cold remedy. I ended up falling asleep in her bedroom. When I woke up and we were leaving her dad told me anytime I want to have a nap feel free to come and nap at their house. That was very embarrassing.

Omg Britt! So scary so glad you were ok! This brought back something that happened to my daughter and I just 2 weeks ago. We decided to go to dollar general for a couple small things and it was evening time so it was dark outside. We get in the dollar store and this guy locked eyes with my daughter and it was intense. She is 20 yrs old, he definitely wasn't wanting me. He followed us very closely to every single isle so we decided to keep going in a circle down one aisle and back up the other just to see for sure if he was really following us. Sure enough he was. He kept starring at my daughter and was clearly waiting for me to leave her side. I've never been so scared in my life! I'm so we went to the register and told the lady about him and she said she would keep an eye on him and call police if needed. As we're checking out he's waiting by the front doors for us...I told my daughter we are not going out to the parking lot yet bc it was dark! So we went over the fruit section and just stood there and he stood on the corner of the aisle waiting too! 👀 he turned his head for one second and we ran so fast out the doors ran to my car and took off! As we're were driving away he was in the parking lot looking for us!!!! This was so traumatizing for her and I. I feel like even if she's 20 now I can't let her go in a store alone! The fear I have now is so real. I thank God I went in that store w her that night. I know for sure she wouldn't be here w me if I decided to stay in the car. I'm so glad we all were safe in these situations ❤

In high school myself and group of 4 other girls all walked home together each day, one day man appeared out from behind a church hall and exposed himself then began running towards us (he wasn’t from area as didn’t no there was a gap in fence we could escape) so we legged it home told our parents they went out looking, contacted school ect. Next day walking home same man pounced out from hedging closer to housing estate & grabbed one of the girls but we managed to break her free again we all legged it home, a full week passed we didn’t see him so come the middle of following week we had all relaxed thinking he was gone when suddenly he jumps out yelling flashed us and charged at us again as we ran he went the opposite direction jumped in a car and fled, turns out he had doubled backed and was stalking the neighbourhood for us, so police decided enough was enough and sent out undercover officers to sit in wait to catch this creep, they had officers hiding at multiple points along our route ready to apprehend him, This tactic was brilliant however they didn’t pre warn us kids or our parents of this set up so we all set out to school worried sick about our walk home thinking all he be around or not, home time comes we are walking up passed the hedging then passed the church when we see a man in the distance running and a second person chasing this man they’re both running getting closer to each other and closer to us one of them starts yelling before body slamming the man to the ground and 3 more silhouettes appear in the distance all running towards the two now on the ground we are frozen at this point, do we run back towards school do we run round and passed the people who are close enough to see but far enough away not to make out much identification wise, a suddenly one of them stand up and raise a gun then you see what looks like a woman waving her handbag at them trying to swipe them so we all start walking forward just enough to be able to hear them all yelling and shouting at each other, this is when we figured out our parents had the same idea the cops had to lie in wait on the creep and apprehend him 😂😂 so yes our parents tackled the undercover cop to the group thinking he was the creep and one of the hidden cops jumped my dad thinking he was the creep and somehow they all ended up in an on foot chase going the same direction, my grandmother was the lady waving a bag trying to fight of an undercover officer aiming his rubber bullet gun in her face telling her to get on the ground 😂😂🤦‍♀️ the man was eventually caught at another school almost a year later and identified by multiple pupils across 4 high schools.

Yes! I was at the mall when I was in middle school by myself (waiting on some friends) and we had a Walmart attached to our mall at the time. I had walked down there and noticed a creepy old guy following me. I went to all different sections in the store and he was always there. It freaked me out so much! I ended up hiding from him and I guess he finally left. Now, this was before cellphones or anything so I ran out of that store so quick to find my friends at the other end of the mall after that. Crazy!

We have a few my now husband and I met through a series of unfortunate accidents...literally he backed into a car, I got a concussion from hide and seek...but we started dating and now married 19 years. For a serious one I could tell you about our most recent neighbor situation where for the last 2 years we have had many things happen including SWAT and being chased during my run...telling that one becomes one that is hard to believe but many lessons learned.

Hi Britt, thank you for sharing your story. It reminds me of my "au-pair era" / 2 years in the UK + 1 year in the US. As a European citizen, I was not cautious in the UK as much as in the US (maybe mainly because of my young age - 19yo back then). Bicycling alone in the dark after my working hours to the swimming pool to join the aqua-aerobic classes, visiting the capital & coming back home in the dark on weekends.. As the UK was part of Europe and not far from my home I though nothing can happen to me. Doesn´t every young soul think that, unfortunately? But living in the US - with no blood family, friends around, just a single young me (21yo), you have to listen to your gut feelings. Lovely to hear your story which reminded me of that time - and it was the experience of my life for sure, too! Love from Czech rep. to you, Jared and your little Finnley bear :)

My granddaughter was on the way home from school and lived with me. And a couple of guys were trying to talk to her and get her close to thier van. And she crossed the street where there was a couple walking. And she told them and they stayed with her and walked her home. We think they may have been trafficers. My grand daughter was only 17 but we did report it to the police. And the same thing happened to my Son's fiance around close to the same neighborhood.

My daughter and her friend were drugged at a cafe in Prague and it was only by the grace of God that they were able to escape. After both praying silently, they were prompted to tell the restaurant owners to let them pay for their food and they would go get some other girls in their party and come back for their food. We would have never known what happened to them.

Oh my gosh Britt! So scary....
I can relate since I almost got kidnapped too in little ole (at the time) Bountiful, UT. I was 6 yo and walking home from my friend's birthday party by myself. This black mustang pulled up with 2 guys with Halloween masks covering their whole heads, this was summer. I instantly felt incredible dread. Then right after I had this strong impression to not show my fear to them and just act like this is an everyday occurrence.
So one of them said in the freakiest voice "little girl do you want a ride." And I said "oh I can walk home okay." And he answered "oh but any amount of walking is too much why not get a ride" and I said no thanks and started walking away and I could hear them talking and one said let's just go. But the other said no she's about to say yes. But I just kept calmly walking along.
Then they peeled off arou d corner and the word RUN came in my mind and I ran faster than ever in my life, ran in my back door locked it and ran downstairs. I believe now that if I would've acted scared they would have panicked and just got out and taken me. I wrote this before I heard your topic at end of your vlog. So you wanted a another topic but this is my scary story. I actually have 2 more even that are just as creepy that happened to me while growing up in Bountiful Utah.

Love the story time video! When I was a kid, we lived on an island. Our family went on vacation to a neighboring island. It was Sunday and we went to their little Zoo. My sister and I begged for a snack. my Dad got me a bag of Cheetos. He sternly told us to NOT feed the monkeys. So in my 7 year old wisdom, I fed the monkey. The monkey bit me. There were no Doctors open on Sunday. An Islander told them to go the this Doctors house and he fixed me up. Still have the scar!

I liked story time. I have 3 stories I'd like to tell you 1) when I was about 5 or 6 yrs old my mom my sister and my aunt and myself were asleep in bed and something woke me and I saw this guy staring at us I slowly tapped my mom going " mom, mom" she goes what?! I point to the window she jumps up screams. The guy just smiles all I remember is his eyes looked red and his cigarette smoke.
    2) when I was around 15 yrs old I woke up because I had to use the restroom and there was this Stranger in my bed with me trying to hug me I jumped up and said I needed a drink went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife (my parents were next door and I couldn't go to them because I have 2 little sisters asleep in the next room and didn't want to leave them alone) and told him to get the h out. When my parents got home I told them what happened
    3) when I was 14 my friend and I were talking about a bomb scare we had at school and my friends little sister was there next thing we know there's pounding on the door when I opened it there was swat and the bomb squad they woke my dad up and made all of us stand outside ( my mom was at the store and my sister had just got out of the movies) they had the whole street blocked off wouldn't let my mom through. Turned out when we were talking her little sister called 911 and they heard the whole conversation. The police questioned us and we told them what happened the little sister got in trouble for calling 911.

    A straw & a gallon of milk.
I was home alone one morning waiting for the bus to take me to school but instead of waiting by the door to see if the bus showed up at the house, I decided to have some milk. I instead of pouring a glass of milk I grabbed a straw & a gallon of milk for whatever reason. While I was drinking the milk with the straw the straw fell in the gallon of milk & missing the bus. The bus driver driver came back to the house to pick me up.
That evening at dinner, My Mom asked me to pour the family a glass of milk. When I got to my sisters glass, the straw came out of the container with the straw. My family never let me forget about the straw & the gallon of milk.

That is a scary story!! I was raised and lived a totally different life!!
I have about 5-6 weapons within an arms reach just in my minivan!!! 🤣😂🤣😂 I was born and raised in NE Ohio, about 15-20 mins from Akron. Then lived in Tampa for 5 years, then the Charleston WV area for 4 years. Now, I'm back in my home area since 2011.
I do not seek out confrontation and I also try not to escalate situations or start crap but if any situations arise or anyone tries anything around me or my kids, I will defend them to the end!!

I saw a Oprah episode about how to protect yourself and the police detective she interviewed said your instincts are your greatest defence so listen to them. He said he had interviewed too many victims who said they had felt something was wrong and wished they had listened to their gut. Britt you were so lucky to have seen Taken shortly before and to have raised your guard up. You listened once the alarm bells went off and you followed your instincts. Then you took the next step that in that you calmed yourself down enough to start thinking of how to prevent these guys from doing any potential harm to you. I have a feeling night trips alone didn't happen after that.

This was a great vlog and I am dying laughing at the end.
One of my most embarrassing funny moments has to do with the Bingham family even though we have never met.
I work in a small quiet (library feel) office. Most days while I work I will watch/listen to vlogs.
It was early morning and I saw that Brandon had dislocated his shoulder so I started the vlog. BIG BIG mistake!!! For some reason when people get hurt I get weak. Well right when Brandon got hurt I started to feel light headed so I turned it off and knew I needed to get to the bathroom. So I walked fast turn on the water and that is the last thing I remember. I wake up to me on the bathroom floor. 😂 I get up and go out to ask someone to get me something to drink because I had just fainted. They say oh we heard a thud a few minutes ago but did not realize it was you. We just laugh what else can you do. To this day if any vlogs showing pain I skip and believe me my work has never let me live it down. We laugh about it all the time. Sometimes when we hear things they ask is Amber in the bathroom. LOL

Britt, that was scary for sure. I had an experience as a young, not very smart teen that could’ve gone so wrong. My family was staying at a motel in Anaheim for the night and the next day we had a fun day planned in Disneyland. My parents were in one room and my brother, sister and I were in a different room. I couldn’t sleep so after my siblings were asleep I got dressed and ventured outside where I met a young man that seemed nice enough so we chatted for awhile. It wasn’t until he tried to kiss me that I felt that something was wrong. I left him, ran back to my room and locked the door. I could’ve been abducted or taken and my folks would have never known what happened to me. 😳

Loved story time!!!! I actually have a story similar to Jared's lol I was at college age though,so about 17yrs old in England, I had not long started, I think it was my second month there at a new college, trying to get to know people and i saw a guy around I thought was really cute and had a bit of a crush on him, so of course I wanted him to notice me and talk and become friends first mayb, few weeks passed and we got to "hello's" or a few head nods to each other, he was a skater boy, so on my way home one of the days I was walking down a hill heading towards his skating area where he was with his friends, and I said to my friends " ok act cool and I'll try get him to look over and maybe join us" carried on walking and he was skating around and we passed by him and he wasn't facing us, so I was looking behind me to see if he would look at us and turn around and as I was looking behind me little did I know there as a huge concrete lamp post (outdoors light post) coming up Infront of me, my friends were to busy talking to notice me looking backwards looking at this guy, and then.... Bam!!! Head first straight into this light, as I started looking forward my face went straight into the concrete lamp and my nose started pouring of blood, and everyone including the guy I wanted to get to know and liked stopped and all looked at me and just saw me laying on the floor with blood all over my face! I was so embarrassed!! He then skated over to me and said "are you ok, that sounded painful are you light headed" lol get it light headed lol cuz I went into a light, gosh I just wanted to crawl away and hide lol then for the rest of my college days I was the "faceplant girl" never did get to know him much after that haha, but hey at least I knew he wasn't the type of guy I would want after that! Lol

This was fun. I have a scary story which happened to me and my big sister when we were teenagers working at a hotel during the summer holidays. We'd just finished working and went to the bus stop and this guy came walking past and it didnt look like it was come to the bus stop, but he stopped and came over to us. He was so creepy and asking us lots of questions. When the bus arrived we got on and so did he, he followed us upstairs and it really scared us. We left it to the last moment to get off at our stop. We ran into a nearby clothes shop, ran upstairs, grabbed a couple of clothes off the rack and ran in the changing room. I sat on the little bench with my legs up and my sister stood up but put her head down so he wouldnt recognise her and also so she could look out through a small gap. He followed us up the stairs and walked around for ages looking for us and then gave up.

That was scary. You did the right thing by calling your friends parents. Thank God for listening to instincts. As for Jared's story, that's so sad. You did all that to impress the girl and after all of that, she already was asked by someone else. Poor Jared. Well, you got yourself a good woman now. I love your pod cast. I think it's a great idea. I had an instant where I thought i was going to hit a tree, but I just missed it by a few inches. I dozed off at the wheel while I was driving and all of a sudden all I felt was the steering wheel hit me in the chest but I was about 4 inches away from hitting a tree head on. I think it was either grandmother's spirit or God's spirit that was watching over me that I didn't get hurt. I was so scared but yet so thankful that I didn't get hurt. That's my story.
