If you wish to understand more about what happened in Rwanda in 1994, as a Rwandan, I recommend you watch a documentary called "Shake Hands with the Devil: The Journey of Romeo Dallaire - documentary." I have watched it myself, and I found it to be a comprehensive depiction, featuring true photos of the victims who died in the genocide against the Tutsi which took more than 1 million lives. You will see what the UN soldiers did to the people they were supposed to protect. The most disturbing aspect I heard from this documentary is how the heads of the UN responded to the crisis in Rwanda at that time: "The UN is responsible for keeping peace, not making it." This explains why they always leave when things start getting hard and serious.

Sometimes in April, the cherry blossoms bloom
A gentle reminder that life goes on despite the gloom
The world keeps turning, the seasons change
Even in the midst of sorrow and pain
Sometimes in April, the sun shines bright
Casting its warm rays on everything in sight
A sign of hope, a promise of new beginnings
A chance to heal, to let go of past feelings
Sometimes in April, we remember the past
The ones we've lost, the memories that last
But we also look forward, to the future ahead
Embracing each moment, grateful to be alive and well-fed
So let's cherish each day, let's savor each hour
Let's appreciate the beauty in every flower
For life is fleeting, and time waits for no one
Let's make the most of April, until it's finally done.
