I picked up the ilia powder because of you! I’ve finished up the well people powder before and liked it but wanted to try something new. Ty for making the video
I’m so glad you liked the video!! I’ll be talking about a new powder later this week or Monday next week and it’ll probably work well for your skin type so keep an eye out 💚
this video is exactly what I needed, thank you! I wanted to find a similar powder to Ilia because the finish is stunning but I'm allergic to aloe - will definitely be giving Honest a try!
Omg, so helpful!! ☺ I love that you're so straight to the point yet thorough! I've been looking for a blurring loose powder that's mattifying (for my oily T-zone) and a blurring pressed powder that's natural (for my undereyes and the drier sides of my face)... this is perfect! I'm definitely putting the ILIA and the Kosas powders on my shortlist now. 👍🏽
I have the Honest Beauty powder and love it for my oily skin. 🥰 This one wasn't mentioned, but I use the Flower Beauty miracle glow satin finishing powder for under my eyes, and love it! It's very light (but still very sheer) and my skin is fair so I don't know how it does on darker skin tones.
You must be psychic! How’d you know I was just looking for a setting powder ahah? I’m definitely gonna try out the Kosas one..it’s sounds like it’d be perfect for me!❤️❤️
🛑Warning-Long comment! Hi! I've been using the Kosas powder for the past couple of weeks & I really like it. It didn't change the color of the complexion product & didn't look powdery on the skin. Yes, agreed it looks nice under the eyes & has a natural finish! I also enjoyed the Bite Beauty powder (deepest shade, D2) but my mom took that. 😄 I may get another one soon. On my skin tone (reference Kosas 8.2 or Fenty 430), I didn't like Laura Mercier's powder too white, too matte, too powdery. In fact, I don't like white or really light translucent powders on my skin/skintone at all. I prefer a powder close to my skintone (1 shade ⬇️) so I don't have to work to blend it in & risk looking baked. I have a Fenty setting powder that is full that I can still use. I've been on the fence on LYS setting powder because the shade range needs to be expanded (a shade between the 3rd & last one). I appreciate hearing that it's not great for undereye & mattifying. I heard great things about Range beauty powders (no shade match in foundation). I didn't like the shade in Plain Jane powders or otherwise. Laws of Nature powder (no match in foundation) seems nice. I have a sample I have to use more to decide. If you made it this far, forgive me. 🤣😆 Thank you for comparing the powders. 😁
This was such a helpful comment! I am def going to do another video later on worth the powders you mentioned! Translucent powders can be tough at times. I hope most brands start bringing out colored powders to give everyone more variety! I’m so glad you are liking the kosas powder!! It is def my go to every day powder and is awesome under the eyes because it’s not matte 💚
Thank you for this! Have you heard of the clean brands Plain Jane Beauty or Law of Nature Cosmetics? Both clean, both black women owned- would love to get your opinion on it :0)
Hii, would you say the Honest powder is good for dry skin. Also my under eyes crease a lot and I’d like to know if that powder is good at preventing creasing.
I have super dry under eyes and I only like the powder in summer, it’s too drying for me year round. I don’t find my under eyes crease a ton when I wear it. I find a combo of a loose and packed setting powder are best for avoiding underuse creasing 💚
I first tried the 100% pure translucent powder, and it made my skin break out. I read that well people doesn’t have any noncomedogenic powders, I’m trying to find a translucent powder that isn’t toxic and won’t make my skin break out, but it seems so difficult to find one
What are your favorite setting powders? Is there a particular finish you like?
I like Range Beauty's setting powder
That’s great to know! I haven’t tried their powders!
I picked up the ilia powder because of you! I’ve finished up the well people powder before and liked it but wanted to try something new. Ty for making the video

The Laura Mercier powder isn’t clean since it’s talc based.
