The scene where Ray dreams that a ghost goes down on him is from a scene that got mostly deleted. There was a haunted house that they were staying at for the night to investigate, and one of the ghosts actually did that to him, it wasn't meant to be a dream. Even though the scene got cut, Dan Akroyd insisted that the BJ scene be left in somehow because (and I'm not joking) he is convinced that something exactly like that happened to a friend of his in real life.

The bit where Venkmen asks the Librarian if she's manstrating is a question that would have been asked in a paranormal investigation. The questions seem silly, but a lot of the time it was just a means to figure out if it's possibly ghosts or aliens and not just the person imagining things or tripping out.

You should definitely do Ghostbusters II (1989). It is absolutely a worthy sequel (helped along by the fact that Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis, and Annie Potts all reprised their roles as skillfully as (or moreso than) they originally played them in the first film).
Just a heads up. Prior to the movie, there was a show called "Ghost Busters." It was a comedy about two guys and a gorilla. After the success of "Ghostbusters," Filmation created a cartoon based on "Ghost Busters" called "Ghostbusters" (although later "Filmation's" was added to the title to clarify). As a result, the cartoon based on the movie had to change the name some in order to separate itself from the Filmation series, and thus became "The Real Ghostbusters."
There's this movie, the 1989 sequel, GB2, they 2009 video game that takes place in 1993, and later this year the third film that takes place in present day (after one of them has died)
17:00 --- Dana's apartment is 55 Central Park West... Course the building doesn't exactly look like that.. There was some set dressing and matte paintings to make the overall look more dramatic... But on the plus side, there really is a church right next door... (The one Mr. StayPuft steps on.)
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Remember it scared the crap out of me when I was a kid and it came out, but I still watched it over and over. I'm such a fan, I even have a proton pack!
I love this movie, wonderful storyline, amazing cast and it's so much fun seeing someone watching him for the first time. The TV show is animated, but really cool, party 2 of Ghostbusters is you can say okay. The ladies version from 2016 was awful for my opinion, if you like you can watch it, but it's not really necessary.
If you're looking for something lighthearted and fun, watch "Crocodile" Dundee (1986)! 👌🏼 It's the second most successful movie of that year and one of my all-time favourites comedies! 🥰 🐊🤠😎🤞🏻✌🏼
The Green Ghost who will later be known as Slimer was a tribute to the late great John Belushi. John was an amazing comedic actor and a close friend of Dan Akroyd (Ray). John was supposed to be in Ghostbusters. I think he was supposed to be the Peter Venkman character, tragically he died of a drug overdose about a year before filming had begun. Do yourself a favor and watch "Animal House" and "The Blues Brothers."
There was a Ghostbusters cartoon in the 80s, and a second movie in this series. There's a new movie that was supposed to be out already, but got delayed due to the pandemic called Ghostbusters: Afterlife. It'll be a continuation of this series rather than the 2016 movie and comes out in November of this year (barring any other delays).
Two foreign films that deserve more exposure: A British comedy I saw on cable back in the 1990s was The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill And Came Down a Mountain. It's about a Welsh dispute during WWI, & is really funny, in the trademark dry British humor. There's also a Norwegian thriller called The Tunnel that was released in 2018 or 2019. What happens when a vehicle catches fire in a motor tunnel under a mountain? An excellent thriller/drama filmed on location, showing you can have a nail biter without relying on computer effects!
John Belushi was originally cast in this film but died of a drug overdose. The first ghost that they caught (Slimer) was in honor of him. If you would care to see more of Belushi I would recommend the film Animal House.
Excelent reaction! Yes there's a sequel from 1989, many people didn't quite like it because it wasn't as good as the 1st one (according to them), but I personally really enjoyed it. Please react to Ghostbusters 2 and you will make many of us very happy :)
Interesting thought about "Alien". For we who saw in theater originally, the sequel to Alien had not come out yet and she doesn't do so many movies. but we recognized her all the same. 35+ years later and you only know her from her iconic role and maybe from Avatar. just interesting.
Fun reaction! I love this movie. This is great that you can watch Ghostbusters 2 and be ready for Ghostbusters Afterlife (The new third movie) in a couple weeks!!!
@@StCerberusEngel Fully in agreement. I like the second movie. I grew up with “The Real Ghostbusters” and there is an episode explaining what happens when they get back to the firehouse after Gozer and fix the containment unit. I would like to see a reaction from someone about some of those old 80s cartoons that have adult stories or connect with the movies.
Lovely reaction. Yes there was an animated series, which the second movie, Ghostbusters 2, ties into, but the main thing to do is to just watch Ghostbusters 2. It has the entire original cast in it, was made five years later, and is a pretty good sequel. You don't have to watch the cartoon TV series to enjoy it (I never bothered to watch it).
The cartoon came out years before the sequel, and it actually ties in directly to the original movie. In fact, one of the episodes explains what happens DIRECTLY after the events from the '84 movie. For a kid's show, it actually has some really cool storylines regarding the supernatural and some memorable characters such as the Boogeyman, Samhain, and the Sandman. If you were a kid in the 80's and a Ghostbusters fan, this series was a cant-miss.
Interesting fact: this movie was being shot while still in negotiations to use the name Ghostbusters. Some shots had to be done twice (where the crowd was chanting their name for example) the second time with the 2nd choice name just in case.
The two best lines (at least in my personal opinion) “Hey where do these stairs go?”…”they go up…” And the ever classic “Yes sir it’s true…this man has no dick”

That's an amazing film. I have a framed portrait of Vigo the Carpathian on my wall :D
It's leagues better than 2016
@@japython it could hardly be worse, tbh.
You should watch the movie Tremors, it has a good mix of scary and humor.
Tremors is the epitome of being way better than it had any right to be
Agreed!
I can also recommend Ghostbusters 2. Both movies are classics and can never be bettered.
Ghostbusters 2 was 'meh' at best.
Ghostbusters 2 is one of the most underrated films ever made.
Not as good as the first but definitely has its moments. And that Bobby Brown song is super catchy.
@@hrs2044 Higher and Higherrrrr
"Blazing Saddles"
"Caddyshack"
"Uncle Buck"
If you want another classic light hearted movie to add the polls, I highly recommend Space Balls
you cannot go wrong with Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, and Spaceballs.
You have reached peak Ghostbusters with this one.
May I suggest: Tim Burton's Mars Attacks! Cult classic.
DOGS AND CATS LIVING TOGETHER !!!.....MASS HYSTERIA!!!!!
Ghostbusters 2 has a funny court scene, and since you're a lawyer...
Ghostbusters 2 is a must react now
I like how the cat says "yes?" after your introduction at 00:03.
"Egon...this reminds of that time, that you tried to drill a hole in your forehead, you remember?"
"That would have worked if you hadn't stopped me."
That's called "Trepanation".
There's this movie, the 1989 sequel, GB2, they 2009 video game that takes place in 1993, and later this year the third film that takes place in present day (after one of them has died)
Others have mentioned the sequel movie Ghost Busters 2. There was also two animated series called The Ghost Busters and The Real Ghost Busters.
17:00 --- Dana's apartment is 55 Central Park West... Course the building doesn't exactly look like that.. There was some set dressing and matte paintings to make the overall look more dramatic... But on the plus side, there really is a church right next door... (The one Mr. StayPuft steps on.)
The commercial that Dana sees on the TV for the Ghostbusters was really on TV back then. It was a fake commercial for the real movie.
Your laugh is epic! 😆😆😆 Great fun reaction!!!! 😁😁😁
A comedy with Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi is called Neighbors (1981). It is really off the wall humor, some of it SNFW or close.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Remember it scared the crap out of me when I was a kid and it came out, but I still watched it over and over. I'm such a fan, I even have a proton pack!
WE CAME, WE SAW, WE KICKED IT'S ASS
I love this movie, wonderful storyline, amazing cast and it's so much fun seeing someone watching him for the first time.
The TV show is animated, but really cool, party 2 of Ghostbusters is you can say okay. The ladies version from 2016 was awful for my opinion, if you like you can watch it, but it's not really necessary.
If you're looking for something lighthearted and fun, watch "Crocodile" Dundee (1986)! 👌🏼 It's the second most successful movie of that year and one of my all-time favourites comedies! 🥰
🐊🤠😎🤞🏻✌🏼
Love it! Also, would like to recommend the movie 'Real Genius' with Val Kilmer. The EPA agent in Ghostbusters also plays the professor in Real Genius.
Would love to see someone react to Real Genius.
@@elzar760 Seconded.
7:51 He got *Blobbed.*
She's the Gate Keeper. He's the Key Master. Get it? ;)
Time to open the gate...
Must do a reaction to "Spinal Tap" (a mockumentary about a has-been rock band) which is known by many as the funniest movie ever made. No hyperbole.
Even before watching I know I'm going to love this reaction.
Movies with Mary.. I will miss Marijchu
Soooo much better than the 2016 remake
Great reaction Mary first time I saw it was in a drive-in theater I was 10 .. another great movie is Quick Change with Bill Murray.. very funny!😁
Be sure to watch Ghostbusters 2. It also has a nice soundtrack.
Two foreign films that deserve more exposure:
A British comedy I saw on cable back in the 1990s was The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill And Came Down a Mountain.
"Went Up a Hill And Came Down a Mountain" ahh i remember that one, barely
John Belushi was originally cast in this film but died of a drug overdose. The first ghost that they caught (Slimer) was in honor of him. If you would care to see more of Belushi I would recommend the film Animal House.
Saw it as a High School Senior. Perfect date movie just scary enough to get my date to pull close.
Saw this opening weekend. Loved it so much, we went back the next day and saw it again. First movie I ever did that with.
Excelent reaction! Yes there's a sequel from 1989, many people didn't quite like it because it wasn't as good as the 1st one (according to them), but I personally really enjoyed it. Please react to Ghostbusters 2 and you will make many of us very happy :)
I was seven years old when this movie came out. It was a so much fun as a kid! The theaters were sold out for months.
Interesting thought about "Alien". For we who saw in theater originally, the sequel to Alien had not come out yet and she doesn't do so many movies. but we recognized her all the same. 35+ years later and you only know her from her iconic role and maybe from Avatar. just interesting.
Ironically Ecto1 is a revamped hearse
not that ironic: it is a hearse for ghosts.
08:41 Fun fact? The director, Ivan Reitman, provided the voices for both Slimer [green blob ghost] and Gozer.
Fun reaction! I love this movie. This is great that you can watch Ghostbusters 2 and be ready for Ghostbusters Afterlife (The new third movie) in a couple weeks!!!
Should definitely watch GB 2. It gets a lot of undue hate.
If you were a kid in the 80's and a Ghostbusters fan, this series was a cant-miss.
theres also GHOSTBUSTERS PT 2
I see the "Ghost head" scene and have to remind myself this was a kid's film XD. I saw this in the cinema when I was about 10!
This wasn't a kid's movie. It's a movie that a lot of kids watched. Important distinction.
I saw this when it came out in theaters, before anyone even knew it was one of the greatest movies of all time.
Interesting fact: this movie was being shot while still in negotiations to use the name Ghostbusters. Some shots had to be done twice (where the crowd was chanting their name for example) the second time with the 2nd choice name just in case.
I love your laugh.
The two best lines (at least in my personal opinion)
“Hey where do these stairs go?”…”they go up…”
And the ever classic
“Yes sir it’s true…this man has no dick”
Venkman was studying the effects of negative reinforcement on ESP. If you notice, the girl's predictions were always wrong, but the guy that got an electric shock seemed to be predicting the cards that the girl got.
Ghostbusters
a true classic.👻
Yes, Ghostbusters 2 please. The entire cast returns and I think ull enjoy it.
Now you know why the 2016 version was a step down.
Comedies to consider:
Horse Feathers (1932)
Charade (1963)
Married to the Mob (1988)
You’ve Got Mail (1998)
In Bruges (2008)
Please watch "GHOSTBUSTERS 2" too!
"Are you, Alice, currently menstruating?"
"WUT"
I died. You killed me. 😂
This is the reason those of us who grew up with this have an utter distain for 2016
There is Ghostbusters 2 1989 Same Cast as the 1984 one
Mary dancing to Ghostbusters is completely natural. It's one of the great theme songs of all time and was a sensation of its own in 84.
You have just witnessed my all time favorite movie.
ghostbusters 2 from 1989, the real ghostbusters(cartoon show) from 1986, extreme ghostbusters(cartoon show) from 1997, and coming soon ghostbusters:afterlife/legacy from 2021. there worth the watch. and ofcourse #WhoYaGonnaCall
Yep. a pure classic. often imitated never equaled
Midnight Madness is a funny movie, from 1980 and so is Gremlins
Funny I was just talking to someone about if it's appropriate for a 45 year old to have a Vigo painting in the livingroom.
I’d rather have the painting from the end of the movie.
I mean... I'm 41 and I have one
@@lordmortarius538 with or without a kitten
Would love to see you see Fifth Element. It's got some heavy parts with a good dose of comedy.
I saw this when I was 3 years old and it shaped so much of my life and given me some of my closet friends.
If you got a keymaster and a gatekeeper and your business is ghost and ghoulies...you do ABSOLUTELY NOT want those two to meet. :P
Original Ghostbusters: Smart, witty dialogue
Female Ghostbusters: Let's just ad-lib for like 6 hours
Ironically, the funniest part of the female Ghostbusters was Chris Hemsworth.
Step Brothers, Anchorman and Superbad would be amazing reaction videos if you haven’t seen them.
