My favourite bit is that you kept the Punk Rock history of the guitar intact. The stickers, the pickup swap, the mojo! Everyone else would’ve peeled the stickers off, refinished it, cleaned it up to the point that it’s unrecognisable. You wouldn’t dare to remove the original paint off of a vintage 60s Fender, so why do the same to a 90s Squier with an equal amount of personality!
My dad called me the other day when his neighbor tossed a Squier tele on the curb for free. He snagged it up, sent me the pics and it looked rough but it was a 1998 early affinity series tele. Did a full restoration and it sounds amazing. I also own a 1995 black label Strat that says Fender on the headstock but seems to be built identically to yours. It has a smaller stamp on the ball of the headstock that says “Squier series” but from what I can tell the body and neck are on the level with American made or modern Mexican Strats. After a quick pickup upgrade it became one of my main guitars.
My uncle gave me his guitar before he moved awhile back. It turned out to be a 1995 Peavey Raptor 1. I upgraded the trem system and it plays great now. It’s my go to guitar now. Especially for metal
4:19 speaking of that, I actually own a Kurt Cobain vandalism Strat. It was actually an handmade Custume replica I made with my dad, and I still have it to this very day of course, with no dents or chips or tape like that. just simply clean with the sticker but I’m glad to see the previous owner got inspired by a legend’s guitar.
So nice to see this guitar have a second life. It sounds great just like your 63. My first two guitars were from this time period and I was told the same thing when I got them in the mid 90s. America parts made in Mexico. The guitars were under 200 dollars.
The squire has a humbucker in the bridge compared to the custom shop which has a more traditional three single coil configuration, which is why it sounded more like the nirvana riff he was playing. Still cool find tho!
@@michelleneeds4165 true that, I forgot to mention that in my comment. I’ve always been way more partial to how humbuckers sound so that’s definitely why
Nice video man! By the way, I don't know if you already do this, but I'd recommend to set up the guitar with the TRAIN method. (Tune, Relief, Action, Intonation, Noodle). It has been pretty effective with my guitars! Nice restoration though, keep up the nice work. :)
They threw away a perfectly functional Squier strat with a Seymour Duncan pickup in a dumpster ?? People are crazy...or weird... Their loss...your gain... I can relate to that, out of the 167 guitars in my collection 8 were found in dumpsters or on the side of the road or in old dusty attics of the house my parents ( or me later ) had bought... Maybe I do attract them 🙂 ?
Should've put a flat end against the flat part of the nut (from the fretted side) and given it a tap tap to remove the nut. Also remember to take 0000 wool across the length of the frets. You removed gunk off the board but added scratches to the frets which you can feel with bending
Can you make a video about active and passive guitar pick-ups? I don't see much people know this. You're videos are like consantrated package food, has a little length and you think this won't be enough, but when you open it... And also thanks! 😅
@watchmangamer4380 Thanks. Its been 30 something years, so my recall is a bit rusty. Only reason I can still recognize any of it at all is because I fell asleep with the album on repeat for the entirety of 9th grade. I'm surprised the decades of partying haven't wiped my memory of those days completely clean lol.
Heyy!!! You can just get PUSHED TO POINT!!! I tried to smash my tv screen out with my American strat (has a blast mark like that) That was my Girlfriend at the time and I arguing while drinking a handle of Sailor Jerry's rum! I was cool!!! She just KNEW how to push it!! Didnt bust the TV (oldskool thick glass tv) BUT it stopped the argument! I think I sent upstairs and she stayed down or I stayed down and she went up? Nearly 20 years AGO!?!? My gawd I'm getting OLD!!!!
Hey man I’m gonna get any first strap can you help me understand how it works and how to get Jimi Hendrix’s tones and Stevie Ray Vaughan please? Thank you
4:15 or Kurt's K strat if you don't know what's Kurt's k strat it's his first strat is was white with a white pickguard with a black slanted humbucker in the bridge passion and with k recerds sticker on it and kurt got same logo tattoo on his arm. It's sad to say that is most likely stolen along his mosrite gaspol
The long-form videos are excellent. I'm really loving them!
Absolutely love the long form videos Mr.Piscopo! Looking forward for more!

Damn bro, you are lucky. Congratulations!
Keep the long form videos coming, I can tell you've prepared them in advance and they're looking to be great so far!

Great video! Lately you’ve been a huge inspiration to me as a guitar player! Thank you!
That riff at the beginning tho
You should do more long-form content. You're insight and presentation is very entertaining
When you hooked up the guitars to the DS1 I actually liked the sound of the Squier most. Goes to show how much a good setup can do for a cheap guitar

I like your full videos much more than shorts, keep it up!
Please keep making lomg form content! This is 100 times better than short form content.
I always see this guy in yt shorts and i love this guys content
Still have my HSS Squier Bullet Strat for 2 years and still love it to death, never wanted to upgrade it to a Fender.
Good to see some respect for the squire. So overheated. Keep up the good work mike
That bridge pickup is gorgeous. Definitely not stock
Screaming Demon. George Lynch’s pickup. I got the same one in my 96 mustang. It was a solution for us back in those days
So there’s another old squire you might like. Back in 2005 they made the M80/M80 Special for one year (05-06) they were pretty cool.
keep it up with the long form videos man, fits your humor and the way you make your content realy well!
Great Video Love The Guitar.
I hope you make more vids like this, I love the longer format vids
I gotta say, I absolutely love your longform content. Keep it up dude!
Man that 90s Strat sounds amazing. I wanna add stickers to my guitar so bad but I don’t know

W as allways
Rad but surprising no truss tweak needed? All the frets were level, smooth? Sounds really good and the longer vid length is nice too.
Nice floyd the barber at the end there
That was Mr. Moustache.

MOOOOORE OF THEESE LONNG VIDDDDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
The squire sounded perfect for mr. Moustache
Let's go!!!
awesome video
From my experience, Squier's that are crafted in Indonesia are usually really well made guitars, far superior to the same guitar but made in China
Long form content>>> 🤙
Do one on the jaguar!!!
Try the Magic Eraser because it works so fast on cleaning dirty fret boards. Try it next time.
Nice video! Do more longforms! As good as your shorts!
Also,
SQUIRES DONT SUCK!
Another long from video let’s go
Love it
Mr mustache🔥🔥🔥
Someone has to know what the song at the beginning is

thoughts on ibanez??
Does anybody know what pickups are in the bridge?
Looks like a hot rails type of pickup. A humbucker made to fit in a single coil-sized hole.
Whats the name of the song from the start?
That $100 guitar was a Harley Benton my mate has one
