  • Phillipe is interested in how architecture can provide a glimpse into how people live all around the world. He travels to some of the most unique spots and culture on the planet to see what they have to offer. Starting in the Andes between Peru and Bolivia, Phillipe heads to the floating islands of Lake Titicaca. Home to the Uros people, they have taken refuge to these islands over many centuries. Intrigued by their floating architecture, Phillipe heads there to understand why they still choose to live outside of modern civilization. Next, Philippe makes his way to Tokyo to see a new trend of microhomes to fit the ever-expanding population.

    “That keep them apart from civilization and its riches”
    Well, I would argue these people are not only very “civilized” but they are also rich in genius ingenuity, time spent with their families and nature itself! These are things our “civilization” is sorely lacking in! 🤔
    Cheers

    Thank you for your great exploration, such beautiful piece of letting us discover such ingenious people, who live quite independantly so closely attached to the EARTH, no polution, no nuisible waste , a pure form of life in harmony with earth, sky and water. How precious the peaceful this way of living of the Uru people..though always it demands to adapt to weather, rain, wind ..🌿🌼🙏🏻

    Very interesting, but would have been useful to ask what the anchor itself was actually made out of.
    P.S. I realise this doco was more high-brow and about the philosophy of living rather than purely a touristy or reality one about practical considerations, but it would also have been useful to enlighten us on the toilet situation. Although I realise in some cultures it may be uncouth to ask about that.

    You have to like living small for it to not bother you.....i like living small but i soon realized the more kids you have your going to need more space. I feel like each kid should have their own room. Space and privacy for all.

      If they grew up like that I’m sure they’re used to it! In many cultures it’s totally normal for everyone to sleep in the same room (or even have mats to roll out when it’s time to sleep)

    • @allythearts5439
      @allythearts5439 8 месяцев назад

      @@mmm555m yes I know that about some cultures. For me it's a privacy concern I don't think females should be placed in the same room as males especially when you're going through the puberty stages. I don't enjoy my personal space being violated like that whether it be with family or not. I'm not that open of a person 😂.

      @@allythearts5439 I’m with you, I kinda like the idea of having a mat to roll out (the idea of having a bedroom that you could really utilize space in is kinda cool), but the privacy thing would definitely take some getting used to lol
