- In this video (part1) we demonstrate automatic architectural trade studies in SysML using Cameo Simulation Toolkit built-in capabilities.
In part 2 we will build model and setup automatic architectural trade study from scratch.
A trade study or trade-off study is the activity of a multidisciplinary team to identify the most balanced technical solutions among a set of proposed viable solutions (System Engineering Manual, Federal Aviation Administration, 2006).

Excellent presentation. I especially liked how you used built-in Cameo features to assist in performing the trade study. It's a slightly different implementation of the recipe than is in my book, but takes advantage of some cool Cameo features. And thanks for making the source materials available for study. Nice!
Thank you Bruce for the feedback!
Thank you Bruce for AMASING very much needed book. Full of many insights on how to buyld systems step by step!
Very interesting, thank you for sharing. Looking forward for the tutorial.
Thank you Mohammed for the feedback. Part 2 already recorded will be available Tomorrow! :)
Awesome as usual :)
Thank you Aditya!
Nice presentation . I found link of project files blocked can you please past it again her ?
Thank you! Will fix by Monday.
Fantastic presentation! I noticed in one of the comments in time stamp 9:23, there is an equation given for moe. Does this equation need to be inputted anywhere? I'm trying to replicate this trade study only using kind=SUBTYPES by rolling up cost and power data from blocks within a bdd. It's giving me a "Cannot evaluate. Invalid input parameters in function power" error.
How do you get the requirements to auto parse?
Hello Ashish. Good point. To enable/disable Requirement term glossary usage from the main menu, click Options > Project .
In the Project Options dialog go to, General group, go to General group again and find the Use Requirement Terms Glossary option.
Set its value to true to enable the Requirement terms glossary usage in the model, or false - to disable it.
