I know it's old, but for anyone checking it out. You 100% Want Tiaris so you can start starring her up ASAP, her healing on tanks when they take damage is irreplaceable. Then, a character like Leon can basically solo the entire game and gets more power once you unlock an act again effect. He doesn't require a faction buff either AND doesn't require much beyond 4 stars. Bozel will give more value to your tanks by lowering damage they take AND his gearing process is incredibly easy, the accessory is an SR you get for free, and he scales off magic defense, also he's incredibly versatile as he has a stun/lots of aoe/ single target AND doesn't require anything beyond 4 stars really. Elwin is good, but his main use would only be for dealing with the thunder dragon & some of the pve content, loses value beyond that. Ledin is a phenomenal PvE Tank but, has no ranged retalliation & requires a 2 turn setup (Faction buff, then guard). He also doesn't come online until level 55 when you unlock Phalanx. If I were to ever restart Langrisser, I'd probably go Tiaris > Leon or Bozel. Then I would aim for Liana, Elwin, Bozel and a solid tank, Christianne is absolutely phenomenal in all content and has overlap with angels (the first unit you want to focus on maxing out) but will require characters to unlock her bonds (Something you learn about fairly early in the game). So, goals would be (for me at least) Max out angel troops asap along with Sorceress troops + their attack stats they carry you beyond the heroes capabilities for a long long time, stay away from archer/assassin troops until the very late game. Work on a core all round team - I suggest Christianne, Tiaris, Lucretia or a long range mage on faction, Cherie (SP Form asap) & then a hybrid healer like Yulia (She's a bit out dated now but has some great pve uses) but this last spot is honestly pretty flexible - you could run someone like Bozel to give a huge debuff on enemies which honestly is probably the best pick, and he's self sufficient. With these units you can completely focus on PvP or PvE Objective content and deal with a lot of challenge events, and progression.
