    1. 40Hz binaural beats increase focus and concentration.
    2. Before work(Short focus), throughout work(long term focus)
    3. white, pink, brown noise help decrease the transition time into focus (also helpful)
    4. Mental focus needs warmup

    00:29 🎧 40 Hz binaural beats enhance focus and concentration by influencing brainwave frequencies and neurochemicals like dopamine and acetylcholine.
    02:26 🔊 White noise, pink noise, and brown noise aid transition into focused states and amplify activity in the prefrontal cortex.
    05:21 🏃 Mental focus requires a warm-up similar to physical activities. Gradually ramp up neurochemicals like epinephrine, adrenaline, acetylcholine, and dopamine.
    07:14 🔄 Focus is dynamic, not a step function. Expect variations in depth and recognize that improving focus is a learned ability through neuroplasticity.
    08:12 💤 Optimize sleep, use sound-based tools like binaural beats or white/pink/brown noise to enhance focus and concentration.

    Thanks Andrew your tips have changed my life, I started listening to this via brainwaves app first thing when I wake up "as I am not a morning person"I find this as a motivator to get up out of bed, do the level where I am able to be focused enough to do a full workout in the morning and take a ice bath instead of a energy drink and a vape. Your credibility as a neuroscientist has given me enough encouragement to be patient with the tools you have provided and now I've successfully given up vaping and lost 14 kg. Also lowered my blood pressure from 170 systolic to 130.

    Hi Andrew, i discovered your yt channel, and your content is really interesting, especially for someone like me. I m professionnal poker player playing high stakes online, and working on my mindset is something essential, so thanks for what you bring me now and in the future! I have a specific question about the way the brain is working, and how to handle with it: when i m playing a poker session, it can be very difficult when you encounter a big downswing by losing many big pots consecutively in a short period of time. At first, it creates like a bug for our human brain, and it has a big impact on the focus. Even if you were deeply focus few minutes ago, this could fall down very quickly, so i was wondering if you have scientific knowledge about that, or ressources?

  • @hamster1326
    @hamster1326 Год назад +5

    Wait why not use it every time you work if it helps focus? Is it bad for the brain if used too much? Or is it habit forming which then causes you to need to have them playing to be able to focus?

    Yes and. Yes, I agree that it's normally not easy to pop-into a focused state, and... it's possible! 1. go there 1st, taking as much time as needed, and then 2. Anchor that state, so you can 3. later trigger it almost instantly. Watch a good hypnotist onstage, trigger "sleep" (deep relaxation) and notice how quickly active volunteers, snap into that relaxed (focused) state. For sure, it needs to be conditioned for consistency. Dr. Huberman, love your content!

I use test tones to feel the sweet spots which is allot closer to 40-43hrtz. (1 1000w 10" woofer and 1 500w 12" woofer and 1000w amplifier)90bd is about right for me to have a very relaxing feeling going with the right music. Would it be accurate to assume if you scale up the binary tones like I have.....would it in affect be subjecting your entire body to this neurological stimulant? Over time contant exposure causing a sort of ability to be able to sort of stair step ones focus rapidly?🧐🤔🤓🤷‍♂️

      The app would probably be best, because in some cases the audio is generated in the app instead of being pre generated and imported into the app which may cause the audio quality to drop, that's the same problem with RUclips because audio files get compressed a little. So just generate your own using some app. I use 'Relaxing Soundscapes: Binaural' on android.

      @@lawsen3719 im using the same app. What bps does dr. Huberman recommend? How much bps do you use? And how do you set the app so that it has different frequencies on each ear?

    • @lawsen3719
      @lawsen3719 5 месяцев назад

      @IceKingToushiro I used 7 beats per second and 144hz. I haven't used binaurals in a while, so I am not sure of the specifications, but I think the app automatically plays different tones in each ear.

      @@lawsen3719 thanks for the fast reply, man. Despite your comment being a year ago. Also, I switched to the app doc huberman recommended in the description. Its the full episode one, not this clipped video. The app can set different frequencies on each ear.

      40Hz is less than once a second, they definetly can since that is a very low pitch.
