    I know I’m really late to this, but thank you so much! My horse has a long neck, so most barrel reins aren’t long enough, and I don’t really want split reins either. I just finished making my new reins, and I love them!

      you'd just attach the snaps onto the ends, fold them over, and burn it to make it hold.

    what kind of melting thingy did u use to melt your paracord cause i make a whole bunch of reins and now my lighter has zero fluid in it😂😂whats the do-hickey u used i need one of them things!!

      T Thomas It is called a soldering gun. It’s a tool my dad had so it might be pretty pricey though! :)

      Darrian Herniter yes that would defiantly work, cut each strand around 10 feet then it will work perfectly!

    Where do you get your swivel snaps? I found a pair at Tractor Supply but they are way too small for the nine strand reins.

    Did you start off with 7feet of rope before the braid?

      Parker DePond No I started of with around 9-10. You want to add a foot or two to the actual length you want the reins to be. For example if you want the reins 6 feet cut around 8 feet. :)

      You will want to use rope clamps. Slide the rein through the swivel snap and clamp both sides of the rein together right below the swivel snap with the clamp

      Addy Quigley just any lighter - paracord has plastic in it, so the plastic melts :)

      Riley Lookabaugh Depending on how many strands you want in your reins make sure before you braid, that they are around 12 feet long. So if you want 9 strand para cord rein make sure you get enough to have 9 strands of 12 feet cord. Hope that made sense!😊
