Thanks for your thoughts, Serg. I do think you are right. Right beyond Obsidian, I mean. Minimizing potential vectors is always a good practice. Full backups are mandatory. Passwords manager, imperative.

      imperative! Well said Fuentes!

Thanks for the clarity of the statement. There is no such thing as 100% security. You can also be scared to death ;-) . And as you said before, use as much as necessary and as little as possible of the community plugins

Exactly! There needs to be a fine line between convenience and security!

Very informative. Note that even if you look at the code of one plugin, it's not enough to be sure it is secure. You also have to compile it by yourself. This is the total freakness but it's the only way to be sure at 100%. Today, I've uninstalled all of the community plugins I had. Yes I miss some but with the core of Obsidian, I reach about 90% of my needs. One of the main reason I choose Obsidian is for the End to End encryption and having security risk from plugins is a no go for me. Yes, there is still the risk of the core itself but for that I can't do anything. It's a little freak to know that only three developers works for this software at the core. I mean, what if they are on a bus and the bus crash? Arggggg!!! :D

Yeah I know what you mean. If I could get 90% of my needs done with no community plugins I would as well!

Thanks for your sharing. Concerning the recently released AI plugin (AVA), what's your opinion in terms of security? It has access to all of my personal information.

I have a video coming on it. But yeah that's a tough sell for me.

so nowadays we are in the "AI" era: how could plugins be checked for safety automatically by machine?

Obsidian will always be popular among lazy people like me, who would rather spend time on setting up customised plugins and templates of convenience whenever we notice a common scenario

Spend time now so you won't have to in the future! Some templates I've spent 30+ mins building have saved me probably in the dozens of hours if not more!
