Amazing. I use nitrogen for changing between wallpapers using specific keybindings, however, feh is my number one tool for choosing a random image from wallpapers folder instead of the default one provided by AwesomeWM.

Is there any guide for Multi-Monitor cos i am using nearly identical config as you but multiple monitors are not working properly , i have display on the monitor and wallpaper is set rofi launcher shows up on screen but no application is displayed but when I get back to default configuration everything just works
Great video, exactly what I was looking for! Unfortunately I encountered two small issues... 1. Although I have the default config fonts installed, I got no tray icons. 2. Even if I set the `useless_gap` in rc.lua to 0 there's always a small gap between the windows and the polybar, I removed the padding as you did in the video but this gap bellow the polybar persisted.
Hey 1st af all, thanks for this video tutorial, it's helping me understanding quite better than the wiki itself. I can't get (still not finished watching tbh, so i don't know if you will cover it later) the point of setting font-0, font-1, font-2 (in your config as in the wiki examples). At first glance, seeing my font-0 is used, i thought of a preference order, and the fallback in case the font-0 isn't found... but, if i manually set a font of preference, it's kinda obvious it's there. Then i thought about config file portability to other systems, but... again, if it's my font of preference, i make sure it's installed on the destination pc/environment too. There should be some other use of multiple font setting. Third thought crossing my mind right when i was closing this comment, it may be just a global setup, and later in a specific module config, setting the font simply referencing font-x instead of writing font names all around the configuration files, keeping instead, all together. Any clue/info?

Last time I looked that's a known issue and hasn't been fixed yet. I can't find the link anymore, but I saw it in the pull request logs somewhere on the Polybar GitHub.

This is why I use polybar too. It's so easy to carry on to other WMs. I use it between i3 and BSPWM every day.

you can put `visible = false` in wibar to make it hide, no need to delete lines

It's just a text file, then add "cat NameOfFile" to a .bashprofile or .zprofile

Thanks for watching. I was planning on upgrading the system, but running Arch I barely have a need to.
Instead of deleting, i recommend just commenting the lines where wibar is executed, this way you don't delete that much stuff

AwesomeWM seems to prevent polybar from receiving mouse events on the bar once polybar is the focused window

Feh and nitrogen are too bloated for me. I use xwallpaper to set the wallpaper.
I have compared, but feh uses 1 mb less memory then xwallpaper

There's no point using polybar with any WM that contain a bar of it's own. Totally stupid.
Polybar is way beautiful than default awesome bar
And way easier to configure as well
