When I joined FEBT in 1987 this was a dream. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge, so to speak, since then. I am so very, very thankful that I have lived to see this. God speed FEBT, EBTF, and East Broad Top RR.
as someone who has spent the last 17 years of my life learning as much as i could about this wonderful historic gem of a railroad, i can say with complete honesty that i am overjoyed with the progress the the FEBT and EBTF have been making over these past few years, and that i certainly look forward to the future, as more of the line opens up, and as more of the archives become available to the public, there will come more things to learn and i look forward to the next 17 years i'll spend exploring the history of the EBT deeper than i could have ever dreamed of.
Please--I urge all fans of railroading and the EBTn to make a donation, in whatever amount, to the EBT foundation. Purchasing track material is key to the progress. Ties and ballast cost money. If all the people who are excited by the progress, but currently have not donated, would make even a small donation, the impact would be enormous.
❤❤ LOVE the background music 👍👍👍 The background music on many RUclips channels is irritating CRAP. This video is high quality and seemingly done by professionals👍👍
The bridge at Pogue has been evaluated and the steelwork found to be in good condition. The piers and abutments need attention and new deck beams. This work is prepared and will be executed when funding and contactor availability is in place.
There are too many variables to offer an exact timeline for the completion of this work. However, we hope to be back in Saltillo within several years. We move at the speed of labor and funding!
That overpass is not a viable road and has been closed for years, so that is not an option. The crossing is gonna stay right where it is, no big deal .
@@wolfzillaproductions4563 I was kidding but it does raise a real question: Who owns the crossing? Typically the railroad grants an easement to the public agency for a road crossing and they pay for its maintenance and upkeep for as long as it exists. When that crossing is reinstalled who’s on the hook for it?
This is simply fantastic... keep the work up, folks.
Great news so happy it is being restored
Can't wait for the day trains are going down that line again, good luck with the work.

How much more track are you looking to rehab/reinstall? Looks good!
The current project goal is about 8 miles from Rockhill, PA to Saltillo, PA. The intermediate goal is Rockhill to Pogue, about three miles.
Cool
This so great to see the EBT restored.
How far are you planning on restoring track to?
😊😊😊😊😊
Have yall thought of selling pieces of the old rail as souvenirs?
The great majority of the rail is still perfectly serviceable and is being re-laid.
@@FriendsoftheEastBroadTopBut you can get a bunch of 1" thick slices, suitable for framing, out of just one bad rail...
I have Denver South Park & Pacific last golden spike
How will the trestle at Pogue get rebuilt?? Will they replace rails or just the ties???

Will you be able to have track rebuilt to the pogue bridge by the fall reunion for speeder rides?

Magnificent. Now close that crossing. It’s not needed. I see a highway overpass in the background.

@@johnuhelski8613 Look up "sarcasm."
It would be way easier to just reactivate the crossing than to restore that bridge, as of now it’s in terrible shape
