kevin has such a strong shanghai style Chinese accent as a younger generation, sounds almost like my uncles and aunts like wtf… I have such a generic mandarin accent I feel like I missed out on getting the accent

I stumbled upon this video while I was looking for videos to study my Chinese and it was so good for beginner like me, daily convos, simple vocabulary and funny hosts! It was really pleasant! Also interesting hearing another accents, because I usually speak and listen to classic pth with dongbei accent, so yours was a nice to test myself also on another accent. Looking forward to your podcast, hoping to see (hear) more of them in Chinese!

Honestly impressed by how fluent your alls mandarin is. I grew up speaking English while my parents spoke Chinese. And as an adult, I am rarely exposed Mandarin so I don’t think I could even hold a full conversation but I can at least understand everything without subtitles 🥲

Yall so lucky can speak Chinese so well and then there's me a sino kadazan(I'm Malaysian btw) cannot even speak Chinese or Kadazan..only English and Malay..I used to study in a chinese school when I was in elementary school(SJKC)but my chinese was very bad and I had to change schools😢

Actually it depends on the school district in the US if your middle school is 6-8 or just 7-8. In the Los Angeles area I lived in it was 6-8 but where I am currently living in California the school district has intermediate school which is just 7-8.
