However, I remember hearing this version on a NYC radio Saturday Night Dance Party in the mid-eighties. It was probably on KISS FM NY (don't remember the call letters) and not WKTU Disco 92, which stopped playing dance music in 1985. "I Love My Radio" was released in Europe in 1985 and North America in 1986. Lost track of this song for years. Thank God for YT!
At the time the song was released there was no "Midnight radio" in UK and probably in the US too .. they even had to change the name to be played in UK on the radio, I don't know about the US, but here in Europe I believe it really was a great hit.

wow!!! Taffy!!! Danced my feet off with my girlfriend in the 80's, both of us teenagers. Makes me feel VERY MELANCHOLY and somewhat sad those days are over, finding these songs again blows my mind. The 80's had so much good danceable music that didn't insult you with dark lyrics and sickening images which we are bombarded with today. I have a different version of the song than this, never heard this one so thanks for the post.

I always said I hated the 80's music, I was more a fan of the 70's. It's songs like this that woke me up. The 70's were very dance orientated, and so were the 80's... until you heard music like this.
