I just wanted to say that I got the Hero Clip after watching this video and I just took it on a trip that I took with my kids and my mom and sister and 2 little great-nephews. There was a lot of walking and keeping up with 3 small children and I used the clip to hook my water bottle onto my backpack. Then when I was in the restroom at the aquarium several times, I could just pop the hook part out and hang my backpack and water bottle on the door, which did not have any hooks on it. I have had it all of a week and I love it already!

One suggestion I have is from an unlucky restroom experience: if you hang your purse in that double hook in the toilet cubicle, please use the lower, smaller hook. I was in a cubicle & I saw a hand reach over the door and grab the strap of my purse off the top hook & bam!! My purse was gone!! The lower, recessed hook is much harder to navigate.

I'm an RN and I ALWAYS wear a pair of compression socks when I fly. Staying hydrated is also a good way to reduce your risk of getting blood clots (although, I admit that I'm guilty of not drinking a lot of water when I fly bc it's a pain having to use the bathroom all of the time--tho if it's a really long flight, I do). One last thing I do & highly recommend it for everyone is that while sitting in your seat, you should flex and extend your feet several times every hour or so--that means pointing your toes away from you then pointing them towards you. Look it up if my explanation isn't clear--flexion and extension of the lower extremities. This simulates how your calf muscles squeeze your veins which in turn helps the blood flow & return of de-oxygenated blood back to your heart. Your compression stockings help do this as well, but nothing works as well as walking and/or elevating your legs to the level of your heart or higher. It's worth the little bit of extra effort. Trust me, a blood clot (thrombus) is not something to mess with bc it can kill you if it breaks loose and becomes an embolus that go to your heart, lungs, or brain. Ok, scary medical talk over. Thanks for all of your videos! You're my favorite when it comes to packing and travel tips!

This is FANTASTIC advice!! In fact, the flexing tip might be showing up in a future video!! I know its not something people think about, but so very important, especially at our age 😊. Thank you so much for sharing!!

I saw a video that suggested to trace the alphabet (lower case) with my feet. I know do this while also wearing compression socks.

I'm a home sewer, so for markup remover pads, I cut up old towels then surge/overlock around the edges of the still useable areas. When dirty, just throw in with the towel wash. I wear compression socks on long drives or times when I know I'll be standing a while. The drain cover comes in handy when the sink's drain stopper is missing or does not hold and you want to clean your RPG contact lenses. Your hair color transformation is really beautiful!

I have heard that you shouldn't use those eye drops too much. Over time it can cause rebound and over reaction. They are only supposed to be used on special occasions.

Kleenex is crucial. I also keep a hanky with me. Great for a quick runny nose wipe, also good for spills. How many times have we spilled pop or wine on the plane lol!

The hero clip is such a great idea! Over the last three years, I was finishing my degree at a nearby university and the bathroom stalls looked like they were the same ones that were there when I was attending 30 years ago! Never any hooks! This would have been so handy - thank you for the recommendation!

I bought the foldable reading glasses. When I travel, especially on cruises, at night, I carry a very small crossbody that serves as my wallet (Vera Bradley RFID) in my backpack during the day. These glasses fit perfectly inside whereas my smaller cheater glasses would never fit.

I use my hero clip to hang my special bag full of things I need on a long haul flight to the seat in front of me, that way I don’t t have to get into my carry ons during flight time. Electronics, makeup, toothbrush, other fresheners, disinfectant wipes , etc.

Another great video 😁 Glad you mentioned your allergy meds 😅
BTW, how's the durability on the tiny folding glasses? Can they break easily? After I hit my 40's I need glasses to read anything 😮

    • @GenxGypsy1968
      @GenxGypsy1968  9 месяцев назад +2

I don't feel like the glasses are that fragile, but the metal for the arms is pretty thin, so easy to bend rather than break. And I feel ya... I just ordered a set of six more reading glasses to keep in various places around the house 😂

Your videos are always enjoyable. :) thank you for the tips.
I don't always like compression socks, because it's hard to find ones that are comfortable on my feet. I usually wear compression sleeves instead, which means I can wear whatever socks I like on the plane and still have the compression benefit. This is also helpful when I wear my 5-finger shoes, which are so comfortable for travel and hiking but don't pair well with socks. If you don't like compression socks, check out compression sleeves (unless your feet swell, in which case the socks might be a better choice).

I used to have some compression sleeves I used when I was "a runner", and I agree, I tend to like them better than compression socks. Great idea, thank you for sharing 😊

Sadly bamboo in fabric format is not eco friendly, the process of converting essentially wood into fabric involves a chemical process that produces toxic waste. I hate to be that person, we're all trying our best, but it's something that people don't realize. I'll shut up now...

I use my hero clip to hang my purse from a table when I'm eating at a restaurant. That way it's in front of me, and off the floor. I never like hanging my bag off the back of my chair where it's at risk of theft. So, the hero clip comes in super handy! I've also used it to hang my toiletries or other bags in hotel rooms.

Red eye drops are not made to use everyday . You may have “ rebound congestion” meaning your red eyes is due to over using the drops and your body has now adjusted . You should only use them for a short time no more than a few days then stop for a few days then you can try to reuse it. Your red eyes could also be allergy related and there are drops that work for that specifically. I suggest talking to a pharmacist or your doctor about it. Hope that help . Pharm.D
