i laugh so hard everytime they replay chanmi missing the high note like 8 times showing everyones face.. even though group 1 should have won, eunwoo and somi saved the performance after chanmi flopped, and even though the dance break didn't really fit the song cathy still killed it and her singing voice fit surprisingly well with the song. also chaeyeon's visuals definitely upgraded the performance
It’s literally been three years since this performance and I still don’t understand why Chanmi didn’t just give someone else her high notes. Like the rest of her part was fine and Eunwoo and Somi showed they can sing at that level so if she was *so sick* that we’re meant to feel sorry for her why would she risk the whole performance instead of giving up two lines??
She was confirmed sick, she had nodules on her vocal folds, which is something that can take a long period of time to recover from and can in some cases require surgery. That being said, I whole-heartedly agree that she should have given the high notes to someone else and taken the middle range vocals for herself as those were still obviously within her capability. At that point, I think she'd metaphorically made her bed and felt she had to lie in it. She'd made this big show of being a former SM trainee who was considered for the final lineup of SNSD. That comes with so much credibility but also responsibility, a.k.a. put up or shut up. Once she realized how sick she was as the program progressed, she was done for in terms of her reputation. I would wager that with the stakes being so high she went for all or nothing, as she definitely would have been overshadowed by immediately giving the high notes to someone else (also there was some stress from members of the team as to who could pull it off, which likely didn't help her situation). In the end, her confidence was admirable to some in the beginning but ended up being her downfall. Everyone was playing a character in some way on shows like these (even Somi admitted that the teaser of her looking like she was fighting someone that never aired was just her acting), and Chanmi shot herself in the foot by playing up the "Almost Girls Generation Member" role. She was playing the game on a contest show, and she played the wrong hand. I can feel sorry because it was absolutely humiliating, but that was her choice to make and she made the wrong play.

(The girl who sang right after the dance break) Somi - former JYP trainee transferred to The Black Label debuted as Soloist last 2019 (she’s the foreign looking) Chaeyeon - member of DIA and also working as an actress (she’s the pretty face, the mentors talked about) As for Cathy (the one who breakdanced) and Chanmi (main vocal here), I am not sure where they are right now. I know Cathy is also a member of a girl group. Not sure if it’s also DIA same with Chaeyeon.

I think taeyeon's parts should not be given to Chanmi. She should have taken Jessica's falsetto part since she do better on that than belting notes. Other vocalists are good too. I like the part of seohyun and jessica after the dance break. Their performance is good specially the execution of the choreography. But when it comes to technicalities, the blue group should have won.

My least favorite thing about this performance isn't even that their vocals were lacking and failed to hit high notes, because failing to hit high notes is more common than people think... but it's the fact that they were trying wayyy too hard in the way that they were just shouting "woo" after almost every verse. It takes away a lot from their performance and kinda makes it seem like they're really not that confident and trying to cover it up by pumping up the performance. Maybe once or twice is fine, but it ruined the stage for me as a viewer. I think people need to be nicer to the girl who failed the high note. Maybe they don't deserve to win, but they did their best and they don't get to choose who wins. They tried their best and their effort still means something. Even the girl who failed her high note, she did Jessica's alright and still put up a smile. People are so overly critical and mean.
It's been so long but I'm still upset that this group won over Yeonjung's. Literally, the supposed to be "main high note" was ruined by that blonde girl, and the dance break was just not appropriate to the song, it was more flirtatious style to me.

I caught up on this last year (Pardon if I am late) and I am still mad that the other team didn't win. Then again, the votes makes sense since Somi is in the team. Chaeyeon - member of DIA and also working as an actress (she’s the pretty face, the mentors talked about)
As for Cathy (the one who breakdanced) and Chanmi (main vocal here), I am not sure where they are right now. I know Cathy is also a member of a girl group. Not sure if it’s also DIA same with Chaeyeon.

yes, somi and the other girl (i don't know her but she is the other one wearing the same top as somi) actually sounded good, but the other group gave this song more justice, especially the high notes and choreography.

I think taeyeon's parts should not be given to Chanmi. She should have taken Jessica's falsetto part since she do better on that than belting notes. Other vocalists are good too. I like the part of seohyun and jessica after the dance break. Their performance is good specially the execution of the choreography. But when it comes to technicalities, the blue group should have won.
This so-called "Avengers Team" is not even deserving of the title. With the main vocal's horrible performance and terrible dance break, this is the worst version of Into the New World that I ever saw. I felt bad for the team competing against this team.
It's really obvious that this group lacks teamwork. The other members should take over the main vocal's part or back her up so the performance doesn't sound this terrible. But they just let the main vocal humiliate herself

My least favorite thing about this performance isn't even that their vocals were lacking and failed to hit high notes, because failing to hit high notes is more common than people think... but it's the fact that they were trying wayyy too hard in the way that they were just shouting "woo" after almost every verse. It takes away a lot from their performance and kinda makes it seem like they're really not that confident and trying to cover it up by pumping up the performance. Maybe once or twice is fine, but it ruined the stage for me as a viewer. I think people need to be nicer to the girl who failed the high note. Maybe they don't deserve to win, but they did their best and they don't get to choose who wins. They tried their best and their effort still means something. Even the girl who failed her high note, she did Jessica's alright and still put up a smile. People are so overly critical and mean.

It was already obvious Chanmi's voice in the start is not in the best health. They should have already made adjustments and let the other girl do the high notes. Also that unnecessary "woo" and sexy break dance look out of place.

To be honest, this groups vocals was nice but the saddest fact was Chanmi ruined it TWICE (not the group). Somi and Eunwoo was really their life saver. I never thought for once that this group won knowing that they have failed because of Chanmi.

I caught up on this last year (Pardon if I am late) and I am still mad that the other team didn't win. Then again, the votes makes sense since Somi is in the team.
However, I'm also disappointed how their main vocal for the team is not Eunwoo, she clearly can hold notes well than Chanmi (no offense).

I simply stated that the winning votes made sense because of Somi, despite the mistakes Chanmi had caused during the evaluation. I was just pissed on how one-sided the "producers"/voters can be; only focusing on one talent rather than the whole group, considering that this evaluation was a *group* evaluation.
So, again, I apologize if my comment seemed hateful towards Somi. I have no intention in hating or blaming Somi.
BTW, this is also no means a hate comment towards Chanmi, as well, but more on a criticism (I am no expert in saying it is, but it is somewhere in that area). I know she is a skilled trainee (as it was shown in the show), however we cannot ignore the fact she did a mistake in here, which led to this whole topic.
