Monika said in one of the interview : "It was not by chance that "čiūtos tūtos" was chosen. It was precisely these phrases that were used in Lithuanian folk dances, like magical incantations, which by repeating them over and over again, we began to hear the voice of our heart more and more."
She wasn't my favorite at first.. but yesterday she proved that with a slight change could give a huge impact and she did it! She was the best that night and I'm happy she won! Good luck Lithuania 🧡
The fact that I had a smile on my face all the way through the video seeing you so moved and touched by this music. Monika can do something great in May!
Same with me as well, this has shot up to be my current winner because of how positive and uplifting it is, and the lyrics are just so extremely relatable. Lithuania is the 1st song this Eurovision year that really touches my heart. They finally did something that I have waited for so many years, which is to send an entry that combines Lithuanian folklore, stories, and culture, which are incredibly beautiful elements. “Čiūto tūto” is a Lithuanian folkloric motive representing the rhythm to better hear and understand the heart and its whisper. Fun info, the traditional chanting of the sutartinė, now completely extinct in villages, is slowly taking root in urban folk music ensembles; it was once prevalent throughout a small area of Lithuania, the territory of northeastern Aukštaitija.
After 8 years she is back! Loved her progression - her smile/ hopefull and emotional performance was the bit that pushed it to winning I think! Love your reactions as always ;))
I'm in love with the optimism and power of this performance. The lyrics are so emotional and so uplifting... The connection the lead vocalist has with the back singers gives me this beautiful sense of togetherness. So, so good 🧡🧡🧡
Love you , thank you very much for your wonderful review. Monika Linkyte is trying hard she is the best. For us Lithuanians “ Čiūto Tūto” means a lot. The performance is very sensual, emotional, exciting. Thank you for noticing it.❤️
Čiūto-tūto is our folkloric motive that was used in Lithuanian folklor songs and dances, as magical incantations (almost like a spell-casting or ritual), which by repeating constantly, helps to hear the voice of one's heart and come back to oneself. Monika is singing about tough times in her life in the past and čiūto-tūto, in a way, portrays her way back to herself. Orange colour represents amber (which is called a Lithuanian gold) as well as her earrings. The song has lots of small nodes to our cultural heritage and history
Monika wasn't my favourite to win, but I voted for her because she was the best and deserved to win. I'm so happy she will represent Lithuania in May 🧡🧡🧡
You have such a sunny personality. It was a pleasure listening to you. To tell the truth, I do not like the song much myself (too similar to a million of other songs). Thanks a lot for so much love for Lithuanian song. : )
It's the first time in probably past 15 years that I really like the song we picked 🙂 her voice gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it 🙂 Like the song was made for her specifically and nobody else 🙂
Not gonna lie, this wasn't my song to win BUT that performance was really well. Performance sounds better than the studio (which is such a great thing) so I'm honestly glad it won. Also, like the Moruva motifs and the gospel gives it a bit of spice. I really hope this gets to the finals.
The sound word "čiūto" seems to come from the word "čiūtoti" (to rock), and "tūto" from "tūtuoti", that is, to sing. So these famous words can be taken from the lullaby, from the very old depths of the nation ancestors. These words are used in Lithuanian UNESCO heritage called “sutartinė” - is a form of polyphonic music performed by female singers in north-east Lithuania. The songs have simple melodies, with two to five pitches, and comprise two distinct parts: a meaningful main text and a refrain that may include nonce words.
Im angry with myself for not pacing this higher in the beggining..now at the releace of all the songs ..this is the most real vibe ,the other songs feel to polished and manufactered .. Almost like they are trying to hard..lithuania now is top fog my playlist..maybe i should bet her for the win..Why not? Either way monika and her gals are going to Slay in May.. ♡ Love it
It's too loud. These are combinations of words used in Lithuanian contracts, which we cannot translate into any other language. It is said that Lithuanian goddesses used them when singing to return to themselves and thus hear their heart. (Čiūto tūto)
You say that this song will do well with jury because of her vocals but the question is will vocal be enought to get satisfactory score? I personally I don't think so because besides vocals this song does not really stand on anything else, there is simply not enought variety and sophistication in terms of instrumental part also as far as I understand song only uses 3 chords (might be enought for general public but probably not enought for jury especially when I remember the fact that other Baltic countries had some excellent performances that didn't gone as far as it should have more specifficaly Ott Lepland- Kuula (2012) or Aminata- Love injected (2015) it would not surprise that Monika too will most likely will have very mixed result at best).

Čiūto-tūto is used in lithuanian folk songs as a chant so that the song would reach everyones hearts.

Čiūto tūto-these are ancient Lithuanian, like pagan, magical words connecting nature with nature and were used by ancient herbalists
😁😉👍

The symbols in the background is the antique in Lithuania and the ČIUTO TUTO also the secret inside this song
