In real life, the mother was part of the blame. They raise their sons as little husbands when they are young. Then they get older and ask momma what she's bringing home to eat
What are you even talking about? That's not even an accurate description. I don't know what husband and wife you've been around, but a mother's love for their child is usually on a much greater level than it is for their husband, and so the child gets spoiled rotten. That's what happened here.
She definitely had her flaws but she was constantly giving baby boy advice and he just didn’t take it. He wanted to live with mama with a baby mom and kid, steal cloths as a business. And not work a real job. Then tell his mom she couldn’t have a boyfriend
Its called vicious cycle. Somewhere in the movie, it is mentioned that Juanita had Jodie when she was like 14. She was not even an adult to begin with. Jodie himself now is a teen parent on and on. But what I like about this movie is that it is a commentary. Jodie is a metaphor of African Americans who are caught in the cycle of poverty, violence, lack of opportunities and so on. He does not put the blame on white people or the government. His message is that the African American people must take it upon themselves to break free of that cycle. Just as Jodie himself must learn to take responsibilities and be a man.
The fact Yvette was the only girl Juanita liked out of all the girls he slept with, including Peanut, really says a lot about their relationship in this movie. 🥰
Jody never wanted to live with Yvette and wanted to stay at home because he was out cheating with other women. Yvette was the one who had her own car, place and a job stuff and he took advantage of that.
She was one of the few actresses in Hollywood who was disciplined working out in real life. She even made into the cover of a magazine, look her up, I think was ebony or women's health, I don't recall...

@@jordanflores5687 Woah hold up you're going WAY off topic, I didn't say nothing about equality, male or female if you got two kids with two different people and you're with one of them and that person has their own place, you really have no excuse to still be living at home with a parent, yes Jody's grandmother passed her house down to his mom meaning she never left, but CLEARLY she became mature and managed to deal with the responsibility of keeping a house by paying the bills, naturally somebody in Jody's positiin should've BEEN moved out, but if you're not gonna move out the least you could do is at least help with some of the bills since you live there and are an adult

It would be more better if Jody had his own car and let his girlfriend have her own car.

No women don't love men like Jody. Jody is manipulative and using his charm to his advantage.
