My 3itre vx is is still going strong. Its more reliable than the 2.2. Anyone who knows abt safaris will.also know this. The 2.2 is only more refined. 3 is chain driven. Didn't understand much what you said. 3litre has the same block as the tata 407 truck.

@@Heisenberg8307 never bro, actually those petrol engine were sold not significantly great manner. Its 2.1l mpfi petrol engine. At present tata motors are working on petrol engine for safari. And some camouflaged were spoted at pune couple of week ago.
2.2 litter engine was made by AVL it is an Austrian company not french, this same engine was used in other models like hexa,aria, Scorpio etc
