Went to the dealer to get this Polaris Assault Burandt tunnel bag: amzn.to/2R7KByh Had no idea you couldn't fit the full size long bag on a 144! :( Shorty shovel bag is the only option without removing under seat pouch. Any recommendations?
I just bought this cheap aluminum telescoping shovel. I keep the head in my bag and the handle in the side of my bag with a little paracord, cant even tell its there. Not a good shovel for building jumps but its just right for getting unstuck. I carry fuel on my tunnel.
I have to say, after rewatching this again, this is one of the best sled comparison on RUclips. So well done considering this is not your profession. Thanks from all of us sled enthusiasts.
The stiff preload on the front track shock will act as a fulcrum which will make it lift skis quicker than if you softened the front track shock. That also removes wight from the skis which are a wider base for cornering which is why the Polaris lifts the ski coming out of turns. Put 4 scales under both sleds and get all the weight % the same and see how they compare. That would be very interesting.
Great review. However I read at 6 hours the ecu on the cat unlocks the motors full power. Take the time and set your own suspension it will make a difference.
I have an Assault 800 and it is just an amazing machine both on and off trail. I like it because it's kind of wild and nimble and when you take a corner...you TAKE a corner. I've driven the Riot, Backcountry XRS, and the SKS and I just love the higher/standing riding style of the Polaris Axxys.
All I ever owned was arctic cat. Took a ride on my buddies 2018 rush. Traded my 2017 zr in and bought a 2019 switch back and never looked back. The feel is completely different between arctic cat and Polaris. One of my other friends bought a 2019 race addition zr. We swapped sleds for about 45 minutes and I was bored out of my mind on it. I felt like I was riding on a log. And he did not want to get off my Polaris. The new Arctic cat feel much better than they used to but they are still no comparison for the axis chassis. Also rode a few brand new ski doos and after riding on the axis every other sled feels like your riding something old-school they are way too low to the ground and boring. To each his own I guess but I think I will stick with the axis.
My 2020 riot with pull skis at 50 no problem. Check your limiter straps out and see what hole there on. Adjusting the rear qs3 will change a lot as well
Centre of gravity way too low on the Riot?? Isnt that what everyone wants? Ski stance is adjustable, maybe it was at the outer setting? Nice review however.
I’ll update as I get more seat time... just first impression riding both back to back. (Keep in mind, both are stock dealer config out of the box... some dealers suck btw, never know till later) Yep everything is a bit lower, even the Riots bars to footwell distance is just a hair too low, so when standing I’m slightly hunched over. The Riot also feels heavier than the Assault, which accentuates this even more. But as some other commenters have suggested, I’m going to adjust ski stance, preload, straps, and damping next ride.
@@matt-justice i thought that is why arctic cat is the only one to lay over the cylinders in their motor design to lower the gravity for flat cornering
Excellent job explaing everything! Im very interested in the assault so ill be watching all your sled videos this winter to hear your thoughts. Any chane you will get some seat time on a ski doo backcountry? I will be ordering either a assault or backcountry xrs this spring. I love the playful feeling and being able to lift the front end on command it gives the sled a fun factor that becomes addicting. Do you have the 1.6 on the both sleds?
I’m not sure yet, would definitely like to try an XRS. I will probably like it, I liked all the renegades I rode in the past on the trails. 10-4, wanted the same track all the way around to compare. Want to get some clips showing difference in ski lift, hard to capture without a couple cameramen!
Sounds good! I had a 2018 freeride 146 and the 850 etec is extremley responsive its a great motor and drive train but it takes some getting use to the riding position because you are so far forward on the G4 it feels awkward at first. Its hard to beat the technology and build quality of ski doo thats what always brings me back to them, but polaris has stepped up their game big time since introducing the axys and the assault seems to be the perfect fit for how i like to ride plus there snowcheck program makes it even more enticing but i def want to try a BC XRS before ordering. Hopefully in march at the snodeo both will be available to demo. Thanks for the info and videos!
Take some preload out of your front shocks on the assault and it helps on trail, at least it did for me. I agree the Riot feels like a confident trail machine but a less exciting off trail machine. It's much like I felt in my review last season honestly. I thought a different set up with suspension/limiter straps would change it but overall it's very similar to what I experienced last year.
I would like to know how the Riot X would fair against the Assault. Die hard Cat guy, but I do enjoy trying other brands and have no problem giving them props if the other OEM’s are doing something better.
I think people forget that the Riot is the 75/25 sled and the Riot X is the 50/50 sled. I think since Cats are already ahead in trail stability that they lose that fun factor off trail. I think my wife will love the Riot while I'm going to be happier with an Assault or Riot X (Or Backcountry).
Regarding the snappiness , I have a new Riot too , I have 105 miles on it so far , but wondering if it is because break in period , they told me don't expect full power for a while ... Regarding the feel difference between the two ... Feel the same , Polaris is more tippy to support more of the off trail riding where as Riot I felt was designed for Trail first , and some Meadow play... With that said though, and I do have a video that you can check out on it, I was first down many trails on my first ride on Riot , I was in 2-3 feet of snow , and I was Super impressed with the flotation of the Riot . Did not get stuck once .. Thus far no mechanical failures related to Riot.. However I do keep my Riot covered when not riding and when tailoring it .. Power wise , coming from 135 hp machine prior to Riot I was impressed ... I was at 9,000 to 10,000 foot elevation too.... One thing that I did have done , this Saturday, and I have not tested it since was Had clutch Kit Installed for my Elevation ..So looking forward to seeing how it rides after that ...Did have a couple of questions for you, what Elevation where you Riding? Also, did you try changing Shock Settings on Riot ? I think the other thing anyone needs to consider is Price .. when I build out an switchback Assault with 800 motor to keep it fair , to match what The Riot both functionality wise and Color/Graphics was , Assault lists for over 3k more then Arctic Cat Riot 800 and if I compare the 2 800's from reported HP, Riot is higher so we will have to see over time how power plays into things after break-in period ... So with 3K I can do a lot!! So to me So far comes down to how much you are wanting to Spend , and how much Trail vs Off Trail riding you are going to do ... For me , I got the Riot because We do not have groomed Trails where I ride most of the time, and many times I am first on and Breaking trails.... and So far on the First 2 days of Riding its doing exactly what I purchased it for ... So I am a Happy Camper Thus far .... See how it goes with Clutch Kit... also purchased Knee Pads to because I have a tendency to Ride way forward .... I am suspecting when you are trail riding you are gonna be lovin the Riot, and I am thinking you are going to like Assault off Trail as it is built more for it .. We can compare notes this season... Thinking next Ride for me will be close to X-mas... Thank you for Video Good info!
Update... Today I got to try my Riot after elevation clutch kit and The conditions on and off trail where pretty packed snow, I was even more impressed at the Power , Can lift the skis easily, and I say too better hang on, pulls hard!! LOL
The assault bars need adjusted correctly. Line bar mounts up with angle of steering stem and rotate bar to correct angle. I think this is a lot of your problem with turning. Also your shock preload will effect ski lift might want to try adjusting for more ski pressure
Hi Cory, how do you mean? They’re flared up so high which is creating the uncomfortable bend in any position other than standing. Are you saying rotate them down?
Yes I noticed this as well. I can see why they would be uncomfortable sitting. You want to align the riser block with the steering stem. Then rotate the bars back to your liking so it’s comfortable both sitting and standing. The way it is now is biased towards standing only. All personal preference of course according to how you ride. Hope that helps!
Matt Justice [Clever Leverage] yes riser block should be in line with stem or it creates very awkward steering. Then the actual bars need rotated to the correct position. I believe this is in the owners manual
i put C&A skis on my assault and that ski lift has disappeared, doesn't dart around and i barely have to lean now to rail a corner on the trail. I did the cross over skis and there is a bit to much bite. I would recommend the trail skis
In short, you like the way tipped up rails handle. Thats why the Polaris wheelies easier. Its like a 121 that rocks back on the last 10" of track when you hammer it. I like that too. Mountain sleds used to have that but its not good for steep climbing. Remember, 2" extra length in a track only equals 1" on the ground. Thanks for the review!
Sounds like you need to take some compression out of the front. It's going to lift the inside ski if the suspension can't compress. Best way to setup your suspension is to start full soft and work up from there. Just keep running the same section of trial over and over until you get it dialed on how you want it. It takes a little time to set it up properly but it is 100% worth it.
I've seen a few of these comparisons and my conclusion, form what I see, is the reason the Assualt can be pulled over easier making it more "flickable" I think, is do to the Riot having a sway bar?? Possibly that and the adjustable ski stance being set at the wider setting.
I would really reconmend upgraded springs for the Riot. Buddy of mine bought the riot wihtout qs3 suspension. Worst thing ive droven. but we found out that the springs was adjusted to the hardedest, and still they was going to the bottom. We switched springs with the norseman 8000. COMPLEATLY new sledd ! now the sledd abosorbed bumps like it should. Even the dealer was agreeing on this. Dont know if qs3 have same problem, but it looks like it have same length and springs. sorry for bad english
Very jealous, I would love to have both of those in my garage. Look forward to hearing how the rest the year goes with reliability and which one is for maintenance free..
If you disconnect the sway bar on the riot it’ll be way more nimble off trail. Just need to take one bolt out can do it in 2 minutes if you’re going from trail to power
Looks to me that the Riot has dual carbides while the assault has singles? That in its self will completely change how a sled handles. I personally prefer duals on the trail. It just stops the sled from darting. I am looking to get an 800 assault and one of the first things I would do is put duals on it. Interested to see your opinions with the sleds set up and broken in.
Have some update videos coming. Cliff notes are, the Assault is the dartiest sled ever on hard packed groomed trails. Pretty terrible, basically needs new skis. (Dealer says change ski pressure blah blah, but when you’re body is rocking back and forth across the sled while it changes lanes, it ain’t the ski pressure Jerry!)
@@matt-justice I have an Arctic Cat that was almost impossible to keep in a strait line on hard packed and I switched to woodys dual carbides and it completely eliminated that. Might be worth a try.
I agree the axys chassis is hands down the best I’ve ridden, it does whatever ya want with ease. It definitely definitely takes getting used to. But the cat is a little better on trail. Both motors pinch
Awesome! I love comments like this... very often I hesitate to upload certain content without starting a new channel dedicated to the topic. But the more I do it, the more we’re all living a well rounded life! (I guess that’s what you’d call it lol)
Matt Justice [Clever Leverage] the sled guys should definitely have access to a quality sauna for post ride recovery. They compliment each other perfectly.
Just can't wait to see the next video between these two awesome sleds. Can you just elaborate a bit more about the difference between the display gauge of each other? I think the Polaris has the best on the market, so well, have a good season buddy !!!
Yessir, lots to say on this subject... probably dedicate a video to it. It warmed up and we lost snow, waiting for a storm to ride again. Cliff notes: the Polaris display is my favorite by far, but some of it is preferential. For instance, I don’t want to look down at the display to see how much I’m adjusting the hand warmers digitally on the Cat. Some people love it, but it takes your attention off of riding, and I prefer the old school way of feeling the adjustment and keep on moving down the trail. These are first impressions, could change with more seat time!!
Could the uncomfortable bars on the Assault just be an adjustment thing? Could you pivot the riser block forward then roll the handlebars back? Seems that might give a more natural position.
Thank you. Good review. You own both so you are not biased. Whoever has the most fun wins in my book. Arctic cat is learning and will be right there. It took poo long enough to figure it out.
Those goddamn cat ignitions freeze way to easy, I leave the keys in mine when leaving them out. Ive had to heat the keys with a lighter and stick em in to thaw the tumbler.
I’m on it, snowing right now so hopefully tweaking tomorrow. Hard to deny initial impressions hopping off one directly to the other... Polaris was setup near perfect except for hand controls. The Cat was awful all the way around. Likely my dealer, being they delivered the sled with front end bolts barely threaded. Suspension likely the same...
I too have a Riot 8000, only on my second tank, but engine getting stronger. I have never picked-up a sled and had the suspension setup correct for me... skis in the air all the time! Snowing here in Greenville ME too!
The cat doesn't pick up the skis as much because it's better setup for trails where you want to put power to the ground not to the air seasoned snowmobilers understand this point. The lower the center of gravity the better and I am not brand bias cuz I've owned many Polaris sleds
Not a fair comparison. The Riot was produced to be a true crossover for those that like a little off trail and also like a predictable and stable trail ride. The Assault is more suited to those that ride mostly off trail with some trail riding. A better comparison to the Riot would be the Switchback
@@nickd.3865 I think he was saying riot vs switch pro s. The assault is a huge sled for trail, no idea why anyone would ride that for trails. The switch pro s is much better for trails.
@@dsm091 Probably, I have the 850 assault and I absolutely love it. I chose a 1.6 lug and rides so nice. I used to ride a 600 iq and the short track made bump's almost unbearable.
Nice sleds! If u havnt be sure to set the sag on both. Will help with the steering. I believe the cat is considerably heavier than the assault is why it feels more planted.
Thanks! Yessir, didn’t realize the riot is almost 70 lbs heavier than the assault... am I reading that right!?!? That’s a lot of weight, no wonder the front end feels like it does
@@matt-justice It would be interesting if you could weight both sleds with the same amount of fuel in them, some of manufactures are known to be generous with their claimed dry weight.
Trevor Chadwick agreed. I don’t have a scale for it, but now that I’ve put them away twice, the Cat is way heavier just putting them on dolly wheels. Guessing 60 - 100lbs real world difference fully loaded.
i came here because this is your most recant video. starting a on line ad agency. i will have web pages to rent to clients with a phone numbers on it. can we track how long it will take for them to return a call from the client to there new customer? you can find me on FB. knowing that some just do not call back with a estimate for the work to be done. heaving them call back is 30 minuets or less is key. right?
Hi Randy, weird question on snowmobile video lol. In short, no you can’t unless you’re providing clients with crm/phone system. Call rail will take care of DIN’s on your landers, but you can’t track a clients external system without providing the SAAS are part of the package. If it is possible, I don’t know how.
Didn’t see the last part of your question... definitely key, and I’d take it a step further if you’re doing rank and rent for service industries. Live answer is critical for lead gen, or they’ll just call right on down the list.
I’ve heard this from a few folks, but this has not been my experience. My Cat dealer setup experience was total shit, that may have something to do with it. Also the limited strap is tight as hell with no one sitting on the sled... it’s not going to hot rod like that
Buy some CA pro Skis get the xcs and buy a 4” handle bar riser and please please take the warning stickers off and get black side markers. Good luck, ride safe.
10-4 looking at them now. Got some seat time on hard packed trails... my god this sled is darty as hell. Having to put $500 skis on a $15k sled is pretty backasswards if you ask me. They should have this worked out for that kind of money
Matt Justice [Clever Leverage] if you want to save $ just sell the stock skis and get the stock gripper skis like an sks or rmk would have. The ca pro are better but the gripper are great too and lighter. The stock pro steer are way to small for the size track they should come with grippers like the sks. Also lift your sled up in the air and make sure the tips are pointing up and if not adjust or buy new ski rubbers. Lastly check your toe you want the skis toed out about 1/8” to 3/16” on each side. Once you iron out those things start adjusting and fine tuning ski pressure and the chassis and shocks until your dialed in. Polaris sleds and sxs’s always have a few things that really piss you off cause you know they know but you still have to tweak them.
10-4, thanks for adding these, I'll double check them. Funny thing about these spindle bushings... I took the skis off thinking you adjust the ski stance easily like the Riot. Negative ghost rider, the spacer is part of the bushing pressed into the spindle! Shocked
This was a great first impressions review and I think you hit it right on the money the differences. Very different sleds. Comes down to personal preference and riding style. After you get both setup for you and get some miles on will be nice to see another video
I personally own the assault and love it!! Also have a buddy with a new riot and even after the 6 hr ecu unlocking, the cat still just doesn't have enough power to keep up with the ole Polaris. "Here kitty kitty"
totally new model and Corp. ownership might have something to do with the Riot and how its dialed in. Polaris assault has been around a few years with the usual tweaks that iron out the issues. The old 60's and 70's sleds were kneel or stand up otherwise you tipped over, funny how what goes around comes around a few decades later....
bedlambikes It cant be bad stuff. Klim, you brush up against a stick and their shit rips open. My klim stuff looks like i got in a fight with a razorwire fence.
@@bedlambikes that isnt what I asked many he doesn't know the top speed for these 2 peticular sleds, and maybe the words out as to the top end to be expected for both sled, you get it
Serious? Was wondering about this, but every time I try to scour forums, you’ve got the Cat haters going on and on about the old diamond drives and blah blah... same thing for the other camp, they just pick something else to harp on. Long story short, it’s hard to reasonably sort through, so I bought both.
Matt Justice [Clever Leverage] I have no idea actually lol. I’ve always had Cats, but if you go on Facebook and look at guys selling used sleds of both... seems like 8/10 Polaris have been rebuilt with low miles. I think cat still has the most reliable motor. Maybe not the fastest...I have a 2012 High Country. Still going strong.
I liked your video for a first ride video you did a good job. With that said I have been a Polaris fan forever, BUT I have seen how incredibly durable and stout that Cat 800 engine is as I have had the luxury of riding my friends (rental sled as he calls it) a few times a season in the Jackman Maine area, the riding is towards 70% off trail. This "Rental" sled has over 14K WFO hard ass miles on her and she has never been apart and still pulls like hell!!! I haven't seen any of my Polaris riding buddy's that can say the same. Most sell them before they get even close to that kind of mileage. Sorry for the book! Brappp!!
@@drew3406 .. I use race Snocross in the 80's .. kinda preferred my skis biting the ground so I didn't _kiss a tree_ in a bad way. Maybe you don't want your skis on the ground and that's fine by me...

Amateurs love ski pull....vets like ski pressure...pukl them skis all ya want brother you NEVER keep up with me and my planted skis brah!!!...but dammmmmm that LOOOKSSSS SO COOL!!! This guy and his 'PLAYFULL" POLARIS.....you guys need to go pull skis together 😜
Was great until you pissed me off by saying timid FEMALE rider... just say timid rider ! no need to specify unless you're sexist ;) ASfor the review, I have an assault and it's super playful like you said, Assault wins in my books!
So what sleds cheaper and last longer. How many assaults have 7000 miles on it without rebuilding it. This must be made for the ones that just pay dealers beat them then run off to the next yr model. Lets see Polaris always went light tight and high cats lower and wider. What no turbo reviews??? Polaris who???
THIS video make you a PERFECT "PLAYFUL " POLARIS guy...dude.. REALLY.!!...CAT sounds SOLID!!!... SKI PRESSUE!!!...AND suspension for anyhting but PLAYFUL!!.. Riot is ready to ride like a cat owner rides BRAH!!!. be in lakewood this Wisconsin Saturday 12/21 morning if anybody wants to prove me wrong!! Let's Rip!
Its a crossover lol don’t get butt hurt the assault has been on the top for awhile now in this class and maybe you green guys can bring something better next season. Cat is known and will remain known for bad suspension in sxs’s and sleds this is not anything new. They are known for flat cornering and thats easily achieved with a chassis thats very low with minimal suspension travel and unfortunately it makes them ride bad. In a cross over sled you need it to be good off trail as well and the riot really falls short but maybe next year....
Mike Myers lets suppose I meet you there and you show me up on your sled in “the woods”. I’ll trade you sleds and you will do even better on mine. I may be up in baldwin or the UP so if I am I will let you know.
@@softwashscience sounds good... we are hitting Cadillac cause it's a 3 hour drive.. my work schedule sucks balls and I cant really take a Friday off till March..so I either run to Wabeno Wisconsin or Cadillac for 2 day benders....then back home sunday!...lot of winter left I wont be in the UP till March.....I was in watersmeet opening weekend this year it was cool but those trails are lame....100 mile straightaways!!!...rather ride Wisconsin!!!...be safe brother...maybe run into ya this winter! 👊
The Cat chassis is outdated again ..Polaris and Skidoo are way ahead of the game. I have a 16 xf cross country. Its extremely difficult keeping it on its side. Ive owned 5 cats . There will not be a sixth. Arctic is way too slow with chassis updates ..same thing for 10 years is rediculous.
It grew on me as the season progressed and I got it setup correctly. Still much different than the Axis, but good trail sled and a lot of fun... have about 10 update videos from last season comparing the two I need to get uploaded
Ryan Belland not sure where you are from but I know here a 5 or 10 minute drive the snow can vary 2 feet or more if temp is a factor and you find shaded areas.
ROTATE the Polaris bars TOWARD you. I have owned 6 Poos with these bars and those are NOT adjusted right. And: Why would a 850(840) NOT be expected snappier/stronger? Of course it would be. The dynos back this up. Plus Polaris stock clutching is hard to beat. Lower center of gravity feel: SO THAT so where Cat hid the extra 45 pounds! Genius. The constant wheelies and less planted feel on Polaris (But more fun): Sounds like the front skid shock needs a turn or two less preload. If you are trail guy but want a Polaris--well first--WHY would you want a 144 or 146 anything? Buy a Indy 137. Just a few years ago 137 was practically a mountain sled. So the 137 Indy: Enough off trail with the right track. Stable. Planted. But less playful (Keep reading). Better suspension and geometry on bumps. I have a 129 Indy to go with my Assault (Wife's sled) and it is LESS playful more planted and I pick my Assault for a ride every time. I have owned all three brands BTW--and Polaris just pushes all the buttons. Whip it all about and shred and PLAY! Like a dirt bike. THAT is what a playful sled is and should be good at.
The cat won't even stay close with the Polaris if set up properly. The polaris bars look like they aren't set up properly, they are too far forward and need to be loosened and pulled back.
We are comparing two sleds that aren't good at anything. They are trail sleds, they aren't deep snow sleds. Trying to "crossover" to do both is completely moronic. I don't know if there is any winners, but there is definitely losers buying both of these sleds. I feel bad for those that don't have a trail and deep snow sled. You truly are left with this garbage. I'll take my zr/indy xc on trails, and a M/rmk in the deep. buy a swiss army knife, and get back to me how that works, cuz that's what you bought.
Hehe, when I read this me thinks to meself: “if I can keep up with you in both sets of conditions on my “crossover” sled, the bar tab is yours #amirite”? Where do you ride mike?
@@matt-justice you said both. I'll forfit the deep as I'm just not a fan. So I'll even take my zr 6000 against either. Bar tab times 2. Define keeping up? In northern WI.
I ride crossover sled on trail, I can still go plenty fast, or to fast for conditions and either Christopher Reeve myself into a tree, or have a head on collision with another Rider because I'm pushing it too hard. the difference in speed on a short track versus a crossover is not that big either way you're going to be damn near out of control on either one. I have Mountain specific sleds for outwest as well. That area of riding would not be very good on a crossover. 20' alpha and 17 Mountain cat.
Went to the dealer to get this Polaris Assault Burandt tunnel bag: amzn.to/2R7KByh
Had no idea you couldn't fit the full size long bag on a 144!
Matt Justice [Clever Leverage] go to my channel and look at my exhaust video and look at the shovel bag I have. Its got lots of room.

Charles Palmer II definitely 6 hours. Put 16 hours on this week. Night and day difference specially with oil consumption!

LOL
Charles Palmer II Hell yesh man! have fun sledding 🤩
Looking foreword to an end of the season wrap up overview
Curious on track lug and limiter straps. Excellent video
If you soften the front shocks it should help keeping the skin's flat. Had a 15 switchback and had front cans at 3. Set my new xc 137 to the same.
Great review, looking forward to an update as you have more hours on the two. Thanks for posting the video.
handlebars are rotated to far forward on the polaris ....
They don’t usually come like that. It’s an option to get those pro taper bars.
I agree the axys chassis is hands down the best I’ve ridden, it does whatever ya want with ease. It definitely definitely takes getting used to. But the cat is a little better on trail. Both motors pinch
Adjust your front shock on your assault in the skid make it soft and rear shock stiffer that will keep your front end down better more planted
Great review!! I have a 18 assault and my friend just bought the Riot thinking its gonna be a better off trail sled .
Good RUclips channel, I came here for low emf sauna info and found out you ride sleds too 👍
Great review, it’s all a matter of perspective. I much prefer the planted feel over the playful (tippy to me).
The key froze... that’s just snow being snow... maybe it’s positioning
Would like to see this same review with The Riot X .
To be fair the riot x is the more off trail oriented version.
I just bought the same color 2020 assault waiting for dealer to get it ready I can't even sleep at night 😅
I hear ya,I bought a new indy 800 129 and I wish it would get cold so i can go north to ride...dam heat wave
Chad Sanislo 😔 new sled and instantly behind times. $ that tight these days? Why not get a year old with mods 850 or snow check 850
I wanna get the same Polaris 800 because I want the power and get up.
Could the uncomfortable bars on the Assault just be an adjustment thing? Could you pivot the riser block forward then roll the handlebars back? Seems that might give a more natural position.
Most definitely! They’re curved straight up for 100% standing rider. We lost snow the next day, I’ll give it another go as soon as we get a storm.
Matt Justice [Clever Leverage] Ha ha yeah they look like they would be brutal on the wrists the way they came set up, even when standing.
Thank you. Good review. You own both so you are not biased. Whoever has the most fun wins in my book. Arctic cat is learning and will be right there. It took poo long enough to figure it out.
Matt when is the next comparison video
I Can only imagine what the sks 146 is like
Those goddamn cat ignitions freeze way to easy, I leave the keys in mine when leaving them out. Ive had to heat the keys with a lighter and stick em in to thaw the tumbler.
The tipsy feelin gn is better for powder
Great review spot on my friend
Thanks Alan! Anything you’d like to see added for the next one?
No break in and no suspension setup = no valid comparison! Set-up each sled properly and do another video.
Those qs3's do have multiple settings
The cat doesn't pick up the skis as much because it's better setup for trails where you want to put power to the ground not to the air seasoned snowmobilers understand this point. The lower the center of gravity the better and I am not brand bias cuz I've owned many Polaris sleds
Not a fair comparison. The Riot was produced to be a true crossover for those that like a little off trail and also like a predictable and stable trail ride. The Assault is more suited to those that ride mostly off trail with some trail riding. A better comparison to the Riot would be the Switchback
.....Switchback Assault is the same sled. There isn't a Assault model and a Switchback Model...
@@nickd.3865 one is a 136 and one is 144.
@@dsm091 There's 144, XCR which is 136 and PRO-S 137
@@matt-justice fwiw the only real wold comparison I could find show that the pro rmk 163, and alpha 165 are only 2 pounds different
Trevor Chadwick 10-4. Any ideas on how I can ghetto measure it without spending a ton of money for a hang scale?
The bars are not set up correctly on the assault. They need to be rotated farther aft to sit flat how they should be.
Wait you're in Maine where are you? How are the trails?
i came here because this is your most recant video. starting a on line ad agency. i will have web pages to rent to clients with a phone numbers on it. can we track how long it will take for them to return a call from the client to there new customer? you can find me on FB. knowing that some just do not call back with a estimate for the work to be done. heaving them call back is 30 minuets or less is key. right?
Hi Randy, weird question on snowmobile video lol. In short, no you can’t unless you’re providing clients with crm/phone system. Call rail will take care of DIN’s on your landers, but you can’t track a clients external system without providing the SAAS are part of the package. If it is possible, I don’t know how.
thanks
Didn’t see the last part of your question... definitely key, and I’d take it a step further if you’re doing rank and rent for service industries. Live answer is critical for lead gen, or they’ll just call right on down the list.
‘Flickable” Motortrend uses that term a lot as well. My God.
These sleds aren’t even broke yet. Can’t review either until the ECUs release them.
What’s the price range of these sleds
My friend has the riot and he says it lifts the skis up Easily
I’ve heard this from a few folks, but this has not been my experience. My Cat dealer setup experience was total shit, that may have something to do with it. Also the limited strap is tight as hell with no one sitting on the sled... it’s not going to hot rod like that
I don't get this guys complaints... Even the key freezing can't be blamed on the make.
Shocked
Matt Justice [Clever Leverage] yes I bought the adjustable 1” offset spinals from zollinger.
Good one, thanks for the insight.
Enjoy the Motorfist gear!! Nice machines (both).
Lol... Looks like the Redline jacket from 4 gen's ago, and the company is on the brink of folding now.

bedlambikes It cant be bad stuff. Klim, you brush up against a stick and their shit rips open. My klim stuff looks like i got in a fight with a razorwire fence.
Does Arctic Cat still make snowmobiles lol
How do they compare in top end speed
As he said, they're both in break in mode.
@@bedlambikes that isnt what I asked many he doesn't know the top speed for these 2 peticular sleds, and maybe the words out as to the top end to be expected for both sled, you get it
Flint Metro you dumb?
I think artic cat has the best front suspension
You forgot to mention that you won’t need to rebuild the motor after 3k if you get the riot 😂
10-4, where you riding these days? I’m doing the Arnold trail club and the Rangeley club.
Matt Justice [Clever Leverage] I’m from anson so o ride Bingham/ forks a bunch and Carabassett area
Brappp!!
Man just roll the bars back? Lmao who sets the bars bent up like that lol
I mean who doesn't want their skis be flying off the ground when you going 75 miles an hour down a trail.
Haha! Good sir, might I suggest a Ski-Doo Skandic for you, I think you’ll love it!
Probably the person who buys the sled for what its advertised to do.

Team Arctic Cat here for the reliability
the assault is uncoupled thats why its more playful
Nothing against the assault but the cat looks wicked!
I find that hard to agree with. The Polaris looks and feels so much better than that ol looking 90’s style artic crap. I mean Cat 😂
Was great until you pissed me off by saying timid FEMALE rider... just say timid rider ! no need to specify unless you're sexist ;) ASfor the review, I have an assault and it's super playful like you said, Assault wins in my books!
I just watched a sauana video that said you lived in Florida. 🤔
#snowbirdlife
So what sleds cheaper and last longer. How many assaults have 7000 miles on it without rebuilding it. This must be made for the ones that just pay dealers beat them then run off to the next yr model. Lets see Polaris always went light tight and high cats lower and wider. What no turbo reviews??? Polaris who???
Which sled is overheating when the rest don’t, and throwing error codes trail side holding up the pack? You guessed it... green machine baby!

Polaris is so dominant.

Cute.
you don't even have enough snow their to play lol
Ryan Belland great assessment based upon the 40’ circle you can see in the video.
@@softwashscience look at the banks in the background. There is maybe a foot of snow there. You can barely do anything in that.
Tom Traynor it’s an 800 dumb ass. Did you not read the title
The cat won't even stay close with the Polaris if set up properly. The polaris bars look like they aren't set up properly, they are too far forward and need to be loosened and pulled back.
Remove the coupler blocks out of the rear suspension on the Riot and you will all the fun the Polaris has and more! :-)
You lost me at playful.
I’ll buy one haha jk very nice sleds!
