Welcome to the world of flat bottom runabouts! Recently built the fooling racer, flat bottom outboard. Although the kit was a speedliner which is cool, but i didnt race those! I modified the bottom and top decks to look like a DeSilva, i grew up racing those. Theres a video of it running on my youtube channel that has a whopping 3 subscribers and im pretty sure 2 of those are my mom and cousin... lol. Gotta start somewhere
You are motivate 2 vids within the one day. I am so ecstatic,I had to tell someone, I just took the fin off my 26” rigger and got 94.5 mph 152.2 kmh my best fin on was 86.2 the crazy thing is no temps over 110 f it’s winter in Australia though. 2968 surpass rocket 3000 mah 120 c lipo 120 amp hobbywing pro esc with my own water cooling modification. Your shrimp run without fin got me motivated to take the fin off.
Dude, that's freaking awesome hel! Yeah! Congratulations! That's extremely impressive. Those little long can rocket motors are where it's at! 94 knots and no smoke c'mon!
@@IRONCLADRC it might be time for me to do some video’s, I had a water leak and the servos fried for now. I wish I could send you the run gps screen shots but I don’t know how.
It's a labor of love! I was just replacing my battery tray velcro with some 10lb dual lock stuff while watching this. No more wobbling around now! BG4L
Man i wish I'd seen this video 3 months ago. I did this with primer on the atrocious shipsahoy boat. Epoxy would have been better because the shipsahoy hull has the gel coat popping off in places and the epoxy would have helped more than primer. Thanks big b
@@IRONCLADRC not yet I was trying for this weekend but I just fried my mini servo and a new one won't be here until Monday. So maybe the following weekend
I will give you the piece of advise I found and will pass along. It is easy to over power the hull. So dont try to make a speed demon out of it. I hit a small wake with my 18" SK Daddle Jr and it sent it sideways off the wave and tried to roll it.

Don't forget the jam foam, if possible gives you a piece of mind if you take a hard crash. BG4L
@@IRONCLADRC Thanks bro! I thought it might be a little overkill, but you're right. A crash would probably break it loose
Attention to detail! Very nice!
Where can we buy this boat from?
It's a custom built hull, unfortunately it's not available

Thanks, yea I'd imagine she's gonna run high and dry with a submerged drive.
I see a twin motor mount built in the vortex SCBG4L
Cardboard mock up, I made 3 different mounts this evening lol
Would it help to add some micro-balloons to help fill those spots?
Yeah, micro balloons I used cabosil
Are you going to paint it?
