Another of my favorites is when she dumps him out of the car and he just lays on the side the road, waiting for her to return ...... “Found a use for me”.......... then back in the car. 😂🤣.
Geena Davis did some of her own stunts too, like being in the frozen lake after that jump, and ice skating with the guns. I recently did a rewatch because this is streaming and while I still loved it, the action for the last 20 minutes or so becomes progressively more insane.
Do you know how I discovered this film? I went for a job interview. After the interview, the manager asked what I was going to do for the rest of the day? (She still had other candidates to interview) I told her I might go to the movies. Immediately, she said: "Go see The Long Kiss Goodnight" I replied: "I absolutely hate chick flicks, so I won't see a movie about a long kiss." She laughed heartily and then stared me down and said: "Just go see the movie. You will not be sorry." I went to see it and I was blown away. They filmed this in my city. The train station was here in Hamilton, Ontario and I watched them filming it. I saw the scene of them jumping from the window with the flames behind them that Minty shows. I met Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson. Both were great people.

“The name’s Charlie, by the way. You’re gonna love me.” The Long Kiss Goodnight was probably the scariest action movie I’ve ever seen before or since. Charlie Baltimore, like Jason Bourne, was a real badass with many lethal skill sets. It was also interesting that it wasn’t about the terrorist plot but it centered on Samantha Caine, as she described, born on a beach in New Jersey 8 years ago, fully grown. During all this time, she tries to find out who she really is. Retrograde focal amnesia. There was no red pill/ blue pill. Just a mystery that led to an unexpected and dangerous journey. Along in this journey is the private investigator Mitch Hennessy.Though Mitch was only interested in collecting some cash, he begins to care about Samantha even if the truth will kill them both. I loved the script by Shane Black. He sets the stage well and we, the audience begin to fall in love with Samantha. But when we are introduced to Charlie Baltimore, we become nervous. A classic case of Jeckyll and Hyde. But which persona was the real person? Enter Mr. Waldman. The man who knew her better than Charlie knew herself. And he ought to know her. He trained her. I liked Craig Bierko’s performance, he had that combination of well-spoken professionalism and lethal cunning. Christmastime being used as a setting for high octane action films, I assume, may be an expectation of something to shake up a silent night. There will be no peace on earth, nor good will to all men. It was refreshing to see another female action heroine. We have had Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley. Now, it is time for Charlie Baltimore join the sorority. I really enjoyed this movie. Please. No remakes.

I actually love this movie. Its been a long while though since i last saw it. Thanks for reminding me about it. Also got to love the blowing up of the bridge at the end.
The tree house scene was filmed in the backyard of a house situated behind a restaurant I worked at. The lights were so bright it made our kitchen look like it was daytime even though it was dark outside. Renny Harlin and his entourage dined in the pub for lunch about 5 months before the filming of those scenes. He kept ordering rounds of almost the entire menu for the table to share. I had no idea who he was until several weeks later when I read a newspaper article mentioning him looking at locations for a bridge scene that was to be blown up. I recognized him right away in the picture. The film crew were regulars in the pub for about two weeks or so during the shoot. They were all a lot of fun to chat with. This movie has always been a unique favourite of mine because I remember these little moments.
I've never heard of this movie. The actors are both cool, in my opinion and I look back on this era's movies with nostalgia. I am going to check this out now... Thanks Minty!

I actually love this movie. Its been a long while though since i last saw it. Thanks for reminding me about it. Also got to love the blowing up of the bridge at the end.
One of my Favorite Flicks...
Loved it when it first came out here in Australia and still do. My idea of the perfect Christmas Eve movie. :)
I love this movie so much! So very underrated! Davis and SLJ make an amazing duo!
