  • Nick Falato breaks down the tape of Penn State TE Theo Johnson, who has three-down TE 1 potential.
Johnson combines elite size with rare athletic traits for the position. He has good overall play speed, and is an above-average blocker who has flashes of brilliance. Nick goes through the All-22 to showcase the incredibly high ceiling of Johnson, and how he will fit with the New York Giants.

I coached Theo when he was young. NY got what will be the best TE in the NFL. He wil make an impact. Mark my words...
You observations are accurate. His catching ability is unbelievable. Think Calvin Johnson but, bigger. His skills will polish and watch what he will do.

@@cooldude7821 he’s talking about his catch radius not his overall ability and i see what he means by the way he goes and plucks the ball, his size and jumping ability. He’s obviously not Calvin Johnson other than that.

Nice film breakdown! Getting excited for Johnson, phrasing boom. I’m hopeful having competent blockers at TE will allow help to block/chip block on the right side. And maybe get some WR and RB screens incorporated into the offense!! I feel it’s an easy throw for QB and can lead to huge gains, but needs good athletic sustained blocking, which the Giants have been lacking.

Like the size & school combination for the position. PSU was TE University before Iowa happened. Even Engram's athletic ability couldn't help him from dropping wide-open passes or being healthy on Sundays. I hope there are zero comparisons in regard to anything Evan Engram.

Their QB is not very accurate and doesn't play with confidence. They also have a conservative offense. Allar has gaudy TD/INT numbers, but he leaves a lot of plays out there because he doesn't pull the trigger. His yards per attempt are also quite low.
