It doesn't get much better than this. Takes me back to my school days where our music teacher enthused us with Tomaso Albinoni. I remain forever indebted to her.
Karajan is certainly the master of all that is beautiful in our troubled world. Although I purchased his CD, I couldn't help but be astounded by his outstanding composition on my MAC.
For me, listening to this calms my weary soul and heart. It does what nothing else can do...I could listen to this for a very long time. Maestro Karajan does a most wonderful job in bringing this heavenly effect to us. Thanks you so very much! And Thanks to YOU TUBE and GOOGLE!!!
hello it is now 2022 reading your comment from the past ,i listen to this piece nearly every day by different orchestras and organs ...very good for wellness hope you are well ..
Awesome . . . in a non-American dude sort of way . . . had to work over Christmas and this made it a lot easier . . although I know want to quit my job and live on an island :)
yes, heard lots of versions of this amazing song, and i agree with you that it is accurately expressed when played slowly. Emotions are so strong in this, just beautiful.
Simplemente maravilloso.
Adagio in G-minore (1958.) Congratulazioni agli artisti! Glazbena interpretacija dostojna monumentalnosti neprolaznog djela, koja govori o Stvoritelju. Čestitke umjetnicima!
U-uh, a touchy fellow, I hear the weather has been awful in the U.K.,indeed the comment was made in a light mood, but I must say no intention whatsoever of jest was in my mind, besides, the bottom line is, Von Karajan did pass away some time ago, therefore no chance of physically seeing him conduct or perform, me? I have quite a long list of great artists I might see in spirit, when the time comes, cheers and all the best. : ) : ) : )
@Nuker1337 I wouldnt really say it that way. There are performances from Bernstein that are way more influential and touching that Karajan's. Not that I don't like Karajan, it is just that, you can't easily say which one was better than the other one. They were both great. Sometimes Karajan, sometimes Bernstein. I adore Bernstein's performance of Mozart Great Symphony in G minor with the Winner Philharmoniker, for instance. It is the matter of interpretation of a piece, from notes, to sounds.
Tenha vergonha!
Karajan was the only conductor smart and sensitive enough, that he felt correctly this has to be played slowly... Just hearing how other idiots fucked this giazootto`s gift of heaven up by playing it fast makes me angry.
Karajan is certainly the master of all that is beautiful in our troubled world. Although I purchased his CD, I couldn't help but be astounded by his outstanding Adagio composition on my MAC.
My grandfather died, yesterday was the funeral. The organist played this...I couldn't stop my tears. Beautiful.

It is solemn and introspective feelings to.Thank you for the upload.
This is absolutely wonderful. Sigh. Nobody does it like Karajan. Thank you!

sadness and sensuality....makes me cry, joy and sadness.........but the most touching i have ever heard
Absolutely, without a doubt the best rendition. I've tried listening to other versions, but this one moves me the most.
Grande Karajan!
One of my favourite pieces. I stop everything I do and just listen.
This is beautiful. I'd love to see Karajan conducting this, it would be really hypnotic I think. Thanks for posting.
This piece is just simply touching. It moves my heart like no other... I wept.
Escuchar esto me hace sentirme VIVO. Es un don del Cielo.

Só para quem gosta ... Lindo!
Karajan the best ever
Verdaderamente hermoso
This one's the right tempo. A lot of the other versions seem a little too fast. Amazing piece, covers such a wide range of emotions.

When we say "Karajan" we mean excellence; the world is now letting go of excellence" and look at it.
EXCELENTE :)
beautifull
143 people weren't afraid to accompany Death himself to the eternal realm of Heaven after hearing this masterpiece.
maravilloso
Hermosamente triste un 10
Probably the most dramatic version of this... The ultimate requiem
2:44 = heaven
la musica de los ángeles
@rogeroga I realise that, I meant on video obviously.
@Nuker1337 I wouldnt really say it that way. There are performances from Bernstein that are way more influential and touching that Karajan's.

SUBLIME!
This is not an original version right?
Things move inside me when I listen to this... and then finally a breakdown of all things.. hmmmm..
Meastro Karajan, what more can I say?
@theliberator1
epic movie
@Tillyvalle Sorry, he passed away quite sometime ago.
@Tillyvalle Karajan died in 1989
Couldnt have chosen a better score for the ending of Gallipoli.
... Li (li) ebe ...
@matavidya You are left with no words for Bernstein...
Bihter
cereal cereal cereal cereal cereal cereal cereal guyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!
Gallipoli brought me here.
For God's sake, when you listen to this ^ can you actually think of its key?
i wonder who's the only ignorant that voted thumbs down on this one...
Tenha vergonha!

@rmgj Are you trying to be funny or do you only bother to read the comments you can make a 'clever' reply to?
Overblown version that ruins this piece.
