Picking up M3 standard range rwd in Ultra Red on February 1st in Southampton. Originally specified white interior … but having read reports of staying and the likes changed to plain black. Standard 18 inch wheels for opt ride and range.
I just test drove a '24 Tesla Model 3 Highland RWD, a '23 Model Y, and a '23 Model S Plaid. The Highland was the highlight. For a short circuit around the dealership, it felt the smoothest and most fun to drive. I had to remind myself there was no way it scales to be better than the Plaid. Y felt very pedestrian in comparison. I was surprised how quickly Highland RWD accelerated with the single motor-makes me wish there was a long range RWD option. Anyway, Model 3 rocks and should justly win over some otherwise potential Model Y buyers.
I have a stealth grey model 3 on order and I would've liked a front camera and also sensors. I'm hoping the existing camera setup will be sufficient to aid with parking.
@@RED0N3 The car has vision based park assist so it uses cameras as opposed to sensors to detect the distance of objects from your car. The cameras are also used to create a 3D rendering of your surroundings on the screen. So, its kind of better than just having a front facing camera since you can get an idea of how far you are from objects on all sides of the car without having to switch between cameras. I installed an after market front facing camera on my Highland anyways because I'm not the greatest parker, even with sensors lol.
I ordered almost this exact combination of long range, stealth grey, white interior but went with the standard wheels instead as they give you slightly more range and roads in Victoria, Australia are so bad now that I don't want constant blow outs from low profile tyres.
How have you liked the white since you got it? I'm on the edge between ordering black and white here in New Jersey. Our roads also have some pothole challenges, so skipping those nice Nova wheels, even though they look so good.
Here in Australia, I've ordered the LR AWD in white. I've asked for a 2024 built vehicle so may have to wait several weeks, but I'm in no rush. I chose white for two reasons; Generally white is easier to touch up with paint and a toothpick for those inevitable stone chips other vehicles will throw my way. Second reason is the new red costs another AUD$2600. Other colours cost AUD$1500. I've spent enough on the car without forking out more for a colour, and about half of the vehicles I've owned have been white. So, it's fine for me. I almost purchased the BYD Seal AWD, but I couldn't deal with the low ground clearance of the Seal, particularly on my steep driveway into my carport as well as general road, speed hump and parking bollard issues which guarantee I would very quickly damage the front bumper of the Seal. The Model 3 sits 6 centimetres above the concrete on the problematic part of my driveway. The BYD Seal sits at only 2 centimetres above the concrete. Without anyone in the vehicle! Thanks for the walk around.
@@av_oid I drove both the premium and performance, but half an hour wasn't enough time to form a concrete opinion. The performance was better than the premium, but low ground clearance was a deal breaker. I've had the Model 3 LR now for 1.5 weeks. Happy with it. Great vehicle.
Doesn't the white cost $1500 too? I'm pretty sure stealth grey is the only free option. Also, what were your thoughts on the BYD Seal? Kind of wish they brought those cars to the U.S. They have so many models to choose from.
Ordered a M3LR in stealth gray and white interior, 19” wheels. Expecting delivery in April or May! Love my current M3LR (2021) but it was time to move up as the lease is coming to an end!
When you drive it can you see of you can change gears without the screen? Are there other methods of changing gears to D, N, R and P besides using the screen?
@@mr.automotive brother I’ve watched your video about 5 more times and definitely don’t see the buttons. Some people even stated they’re under the rear view mirror and i’ve haven’t seen them there either. 🤷🏽♂️ I really hope it has them.
EPA rated range is about 272 miles/438km with 18inch wheels but with the 19inch, you get about 252m/405km. So it's not that big of a difference. I usually don't let my range drop below 100m/161km so I don't notice the decrease with my 19in wheels. I was thinking about getting the dual motor AWD for more range, but the type of battery it uses performs best when charged to 80% on a daily basis. So you're essentially getting the same amount of range as the base model, which you can regularly charge to 100% without worrying about battery degradation. You could get a bit more range with the dual motor RWD though (290m/467km at 80% charge).
Booked a new model 3 LR with no additional charge on stealth grey color for exterior and black color for interior, no additional charge for 18” Photon wheels. Later using credit card to purchase EAP $6000 and mobile connector $230 to earn points reward
OMG 3:42 look at paint coming off the rims. I got new Model 3 at the start of the month and it’s sitting at Tesla Service center as rear boot was so misaligned that it damaged the paint. Oh and that’s how they gave me the car on delivery day. I asked them why they didn’t see the issue before delivery. They told me it’s up to me the customer to check the car. Can you believe that nonsense. At least I have a Model S as replacement car and it’s truly in an awful state. Ratels like a can with stones in it. I hope I’ve not got a lemon.
I'm in similar situation as you. At the shop for factory paint blemishes, gps & cameras not working, rattles in cabin already plus panel gaps. I'm regretting the purchase.
They missed the chance to add a HUD or at least a small screen in front of you to show at least the speed. Besides having to use the screen to be able to change between P,D,N,R is not really such a good idea. Damn if that screen stops working 😅
I believe this "tree" comments are all in good fun. This man does great videos. Plus I know I could NEVER give a review in German. Pretty sure few who view this could.🙂
To constantly come out with the "new" "redesigned" "upgraded" etc. is a red flag for me. False advertising doesn't help either. Found on a TFL video on the CT. >>The top “3 motor 500 mile” model was $69,990 at launch. FSD was $7K. So my ~ $85K order for a 6 passenger 500 mile truck became $120K for a 5 passenger 350 mile range. Also not 3500lbs capacity or 14,000 tow. So I cancelled. I assume many will.
I ordered the black paint, black interior, photon (aero) wheels, RWD.
great video as always. i have a stealth grey one on order here in Canada
How do you like it so far? did you opt in for AWD or RWD

Did you drive the Seal? Even the Performance model of the Seal has terrible handling, I’d call it unsafe.

Why did you edit the rims in the thumbnail?
ordered rwd stealth grey nova wheels, letsgooo. front camera is in the rear view area btw
Good video. I ordered the m3 lr red on the first morning it was announced. I recently got a delivery date of Feb 22 to March 10. Very excited.
Solid black works best with the wider front lights and new lights.
Bro why did you stop calling it model 🌲, that was the fun part. ( Love the the video btw )
Surprised they still havent added a heads up display to their cars

is white part on the door a leather or same material as black standard one?
I think it's similar to the white seats. In the black edition it's something like Alcantara.

yes there are touch buttons under the display

Touch buttons overhead above rear view mirror
Never thought i would see the day where mr.benz/mr.automotive reviews a tesla car🥲💔
A bit dramatic.
does the 19 inch affects the range?
Yes

how's the panel gaps?
Better
So beautiful drives great. Torn between this and Model Y

Waiting for my M3 SR in Stealth Grey.
Wish you a lot of fun with it!
does the sunroof slide open? lol
Yes it does

I’m waiting for mine, the same like in the video.

I love it too.
No more Model Tree! 😢

The white interior seems to be higher quality than the all black
It’s actually the same materials in both colors
@@mr.automotive ok, so it's just the way it appears. Why does the carpet/fabric on doors and dash look cheap to me?

😢, hearthbroken to see a tesla on this yt channel
as a petrohead I don't hate tesla, the handling of model 3 is superb
Drama queen much? 😅
So many cuts Jesus Christ
The interior still stays very boring … they have minimalized it to such an extent there is nothing interesting left
nothing new except price maybe ,interior are utter garbage and looks like from cars in 80-s
what an ugly car
I think it looks much better than the outgoing model, but looks are subjective, definitely an upgrade in my opinion.
