Sally, you are a godsend! Thank you so much for that tutorial. I shall watch it and watch it, write down your instructions point by point because there are loads of clear relevant steps which are either not distinct in the instruction booklet or not covered at all.. Huge Bouquets to you.
Yes, there is a lot omitted from the book. Very unusual for Silver Reed, their books are normally pretty comprehensive. It was this lack that prodded me into making these videos.
It sounds most likely that you are using yarn that is too thick, or the stitch dial setting is too low. Or, maybe you’re trying with something like cotton which has no stretch. I recommend starting with a DK weight of yarn, dial set to 4. Or worsted weight, dial set to 7. If it’s in balls or skeins then you need to wind into cakes
It depends on the method! The Russell levers control the needles in hold. If they are at I then any needle at D position will not knit. The side levers control whether needles will knit or slip.
Hi Sue I am still not getting the hang of it, I used DK, but its not knitting right, I'm real down about it, I was just knitting a baby cardigan, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I hope you can help please, thank you
I dont know what I'm doing wrong but I cant even get 2 rows done, I had a brother machine and a chunky machine for years so knitting machines are not new to me, im very disheartened, help Sally PLEASE
Hi Sally your wonderful Video I live in Gloucester Uk . I am very interested in knitting. I got LK 150. Your teaching is very useful for me . Any Possibility contact you for advice . Thanks and regards.
The point of the ravel cord here is to hold the open loops of yarn in place on the needles, allowing the needles to move forward, and the next stitch to knit through, without the initial row becoming unravelled.
Thank you so much for this video, Sally! I recently bought a Silver Reed LK 150 and this video is much clearer than the instructions in the booklet!

@@minarmanar5331 yes, it is a good basic knitting machine
I’ve just bought a LK150 but the carriage keeps jamming and the tension is far too tight. Any ideas please.

Muy buenas explicaciones pero xq no se puede poner en español?
So you only leave the Russel levers and back levers on 2 for cast on, then you put them back and leave them there ?

It's OK to use DN wool is it Sally, thanks 😊
DK is perfect for the LK150.
Sally I tried to knit last night but it kept coming off needles on the 2nd, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, thanks

What's the point of the ravel cord at 12:35?
