Day 1 of translating Levy speaking russian: 0:31 'frantsuzskaya zasheetah' is french defense 24:11 That's just completely fucked up… How can you play Ba5 when protect- …your Queen is protecting the Bishop, and then you're placing your King in front of the Queen like this. How can you play like this? Freak, that's just completely fucked up… What's this move? How! *And why is the king running back and forth?* to the right, to the left, freaking dancing!
Computers know nothing about chess, low ELO players know nothing about chess. Therefore, low ELO players are actually computers. That's the reason why nobody understands their moves
Content idea: Can you beat a rating 600, rating 1000 and rating 1400 where at least half of your moves are pre-moves? and which was the hardest opponent? Obviously, 1400 is better than 600, but 600 is waaay harder to predict and makes you prone to blunders.
I have never watched a chess game in my life and I thought I would try and watch this, didn't even know what ELO means and I am in TEARS of laughter. Is this why everyone is waxing lyrical about chess recently? so funny and entertaining.
Basically all you need to know about Elo: - For every 400 points of difference, the odds of winning become 10 times better in favor of the higher rated player (i. e. 800 vs 400 have odds 10:1, 1700 vs 900 have odds 100:1 and so on) - After every game you gain or lose points based on the outcome and the difference in strength, aka losing to a weaker opponent punishes you harder than losing against a stronger one (similar with winning). Your opponent also loses (or gains) the exact same amount as you, so the winner effectively takes some points from the loser.
I played chess when I was a teen (never in a club). I started again after watching agad and now you. And this series, after a good laugh, made me reconsider how I play. The basic checklist is wonderful, my tunnel vision is less and less a problem. It probably doesn't mean much to you, but thank you :)

Okay, first of all, that was a move he recommended before the fact, so your comment doesn’t even make sense.
