It's worth mentioning that originally, Rimuru didn't have the ability to combine skills, leaving him with just the ones he could find. It's only upon getting Shizues Unique skill 'Degenerate' that he got the ability to have his skills combined and improved upon.
@@waygraph1920 'Degenerate' was combined with 'Great Sage' to create 'Raphael'. It's basically what happened with 'Ravenous' and 'Predator' to create 'Gluttony'. It merely made more of a show of it to convey how much great sage is doing behind the scenes.
You skipped over one of Rimuru's top-tier skills: Ultimate Otaku. "Ultimate Otaku: the inate ability to replicate entire volumes of manga series from memory alone with only a few pounds of paper."
Honestly, the absolutely most satisfying part of this anime are the sometimes several minutes long scenes of Rimuru rapidly acquiring and combining/upgrading new skill especially his demon lord awakening, with just such a long chain of "Skill acquired; Upgrading Skill; Combining Skill; New Link Found; New Skill Acquiring; Combining Skill; New Link Found" Like geez, i haven't found any other show that can scratch that same powergamey itch that this show can.
The only other series I've found that feel similar is a webtoon called "The Gamer". Main character gets an ability that let's him treat himself and the world as if it were an RPG, and he metagames the hell out of it to min-max stats and builds to cheese through everything. Where everyone else has to train and endure just to get a little stronger, he can mindlessly autofarm fodder monsters to level up instantly, allocate free stat points to immediately get results, and spend skill points to learn op skills out of nowhere. It's busted and it's fun just to see how ridiculous he can become.

Also when he freed Valdora, gain an additional two ultimate skill points prior from he's awakening to his Demon lord; can't wait to see Clayman get his ass handed to him 👍.
Lets not forget the most important strength rimuru has- That in his previous life, he was an actual good person with real world knowledge, interaction and experience as a salaryman. Meaning his decisions are rational and aren't skewed by typical shut-in mentality. Up until now, he hasn't really made a "bad" decision.

Rimuru in the completed web novel is a being that surpassed godhood. His ultimate skill is called azathoth. If you've read hp lovecraft, you'd know that's beyond OP.
I agree 10,000,000,000,000%. I'm so glad I got into this series as it's unlike any other isekai series I've watched before. (anime-only fan) While I'm enjoying "Slime Diaries", the second-half of season 2 can't get here fast enough. (July 6th)
The reason Rimuru can combine skills at all is actually the effect of Degenerate, the skill he got from Shizue. Before that he was unable to combine or improve skills at all, other then the World System doing it for him. Degenerate is actually the arguable true key to Rimuru’s limitless potential, as being able to combine skills for ever greater effects would be impossible with out it. He’d be able to absorb skills, but he’d be unable to change or alter them in any way.
It's also a great way to modify and create items and magic. It also has control over an item's effects, thus allowing Rimuru to transfer useful functions to another item that needs it. There's also the fact that Rimuru can "take" things using this same skill, if the enemy's item has fire nullification, Rimuru can take it and then spam flame-based attacks. PS: Deviant doesn't seem to have power over souls, so skills that stick to the soul are off limits. (It's not until the demon lord evolution that Rimuru can surpass this limitation.)

I love this show so much. It really makes me cry and pulls out a lot of emotion out of me. It amazes me how far Rimiru has come though and to see a little breakdown of how strong he is.
What I love about slime is that he wasn’t always this strong one thing that boosted his strength was when beldora (or was it veldora) gave him a name and then rimuru has slowly but surely gotten stronger and stronger over time from eating spells monsters and so on I love that progress

Maybe on the next season if they ever make one. Japan doesn't always treat anime as it's own source of media and it gets annoying when they stop some because a light novel or web novel exists of it.

SPOILER ALERT WEB NOVEL: Rimuru at the end of the Web Novel becomes a god and with only a little Turn Null he could create 10k universe which are identical copies of the original so you can only imagine what he could do if he uded a large sum of Turn Null considering his energy at the end is basically Infinte
He can not use a large sum of energy because Turn Null is a infinite source of energy no matter how much he use it can can never show his full power no matter what, it can only be considered that destroying the omniverse is just a mere fraction of what he can do

Sam, as much as I enjoy cut content series, a comprehensive breakdown of a characters ability, to answer how strong they are, are probably my favorite videos, of yours.
Something important was glossed over. Combining skills was only made possible after he got the skills of shizu which is degenerate. It can combine and separate things and was used efficiently by great sage.
Though I have some caveats or questions. from my understanding. It was Degenerate (got from shizu) that allowed Rimuru to combine unique skills (aka Ravenous + Predator = Glutonny) Sure it was guided by Great Sage but it wasn't part of Great Sage Skill. Also another thing Great Sage is not the Voice of the World. Voice of the World is that the voice of the World System which a lot of people can hear. While Great Sage is just a voice that Rimuru can hear. I could be wrong but that's what I understand.
Considering his power at the end of the wn, I can confirm that yes, Rimuru is very op. Spoiler: I mean he can travel across multiverses almost instantly for goodness sake.

He can be scaled relatively high if you use tiering and has inverse complete arsenal which is arguable to just complete arsenal as his knowledge of other fictions and his outside persona etc but it’s verbatim stated in the verse so I wouldn’t argue it he has hella hax and is realistically outerversal id say.
Megido was such an awesome skill / application of skills. I love this sort of unique problem solving. I got similar chill from Fire Force when they use the fire tornado as a railgun.
It's pretty much impossible to talk about Rafael without spoilers though. As almost everything that is true about it's previous form isn't necessarily true about Rafael. xD That skill is related to every huge spoiler from the end of the anime onwards.

reading the light novel is so fun despite most of the time that it's just about politics. Since I'm kinda a politics student, it's easy to understand what the author is trying to create and every kingdom was inspired by actual history. Like how the elves kingdom kinda reminds me of China back when they used the closed door policy

If you remember Veldanava's sword that Yuuki used, he used same principle of storing skills in the sword cause he couldn't have them all in himself, but for Rimuru he can use Shub-Niggurath and have infinite skills.
When Rimuru gets to evolve to (Spoilers) An Ultimate Slime "Draconic Demonic Viscous Stellar/Celestial Spirit" by analyzing Veldora and basically becoming a true Dragon himself and names Raphael into 'Manas: Ciel' is where shit hits the fan. Ciel basically combines all his fucking skills into 2 or 3 "God level" Ultimate Skills. Ciel is so damn broken, she can calculate faster than a quantum computer. Manipulate Rimuru's senses to HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of times and not make it boring for him by speeding up/slowing down when necessary and basically analyze and copy every skill Rimuru comes across. That's why he has like 5 or something "King level" Ultimate Skills at one point and then Ciel combines THOSE and create EVEN BETTER SKILLS. I won't be surpised when at the end of the novel, he has like one skill that has every skill or something. He can fight the two weakest(I think) "True Dragons" which are the strongest beings in Tensura when he has like 1/8 their Existence points(Basically Power Level) and even avoids something close to the speed of light I think thanks to Ciel. And that's why Ciel best Girl (I know, no need to say the obvious) Thank you for coming to my TedTalk Btw I haven't read the WN, can someone tell me how strong he gets?

Honestly, the absolutely most satisfying part of this anime are the sometimes several minutes long scenes of Rimuru rapidly acquiring and combining/upgrading new skill

Like geez, i haven't found any other show that can scratch that same powergamey itch that this show can.
The only other series I've found that feel similar is a webtoon called "The Gamer". Main character gets an ability that let's him treat himself and the world as if it were an RPG, and he metagames the hell out of it to min-max stats and builds to cheese through everything. Where everyone else has to train and endure just to get a little stronger, he can mindlessly autofarm fodder monsters to level up instantly, allocate free stat points to immediately get results, and spend skill points to learn op skills out of nowhere. It's busted and it's fun just to see how ridiculous he can become.

The reason Rimuru can combine skills at all is actually the effect of Degenerate, the skill he got from Shizue. Before that he was unable to combine or improve skills at all, other then the World System doing it for him. Degenerate is actually the arguable true key to Rimuru’s limitless potential, as being able to combine skills for ever greater effects would be impossible with out it. He’d be able to absorb skills, but he’d be unable to change or alter them in any way.
It's also a great way to modify and create items and magic.
It also has control over an item's effects, thus allowing Rimuru to transfer useful functions to another item that needs it.
There's also the fact that Rimuru can "take" things using this same skill, if the enemy's item has fire nullification, Rimuru can take it and then spam flame-based attacks.
PS: Deviant doesn't seem to have power over souls, so skills that stick to the soul are off limits. (It's not until the demon lord evolution that Rimuru can surpass this limitation.)
We honestly got through a lot in only 13 minutes. Although it is still scratching the surface for Pre-Demon Lord Rimuru.

I love this show so much. It really makes me cry and pulls out a lot of emotion out of me. It amazes me how far Rimiru has come though and to see a little breakdown of how strong he is.
What I love about slime is that he wasn’t always this strong one thing that boosted his strength was when beldora (or was it veldora) gave him a name and then rimuru has slowly but surely gotten stronger and stronger over time from eating spells monsters and so on I love that progress

Something important was glossed over. Combining skills was only made possible after he got the skills of shizu which is degenerate. It can combine and separate things and was used efficiently by great sage.

Though I have some caveats or questions. from my understanding. It was Degenerate (got from shizu) that allowed Rimuru to combine unique skills (aka Ravenous + Predator = Glutonny) Sure it was guided by Great Sage but it wasn't part of Great Sage Skill. Also another thing Great Sage is not the Voice of the World. Voice of the World is that the voice of the World System which a lot of people can hear. While Great Sage is just a voice that Rimuru can hear. I could be wrong but that's what I understand.

Megido was such an awesome skill / application of skills. I love this sort of unique problem solving. I got similar chill from Fire Force when they use the fire tornado as a railgun.

An Ultimate Slime "Draconic Demonic Viscous Stellar/Celestial Spirit" by analyzing Veldora and basically becoming a true Dragon himself and names Raphael into 'Manas: Ciel' is where shit hits the fan. Ciel basically combines all his fucking skills into 2 or 3 "God level" Ultimate Skills. Ciel is so damn broken, she can calculate faster than a quantum computer. Manipulate Rimuru's senses to HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of times and not make it boring for him by speeding up/slowing down when necessary and basically analyze and copy every skill Rimuru comes across. That's why he has like 5 or something "King level" Ultimate Skills at one point and then Ciel combines THOSE and create EVEN BETTER SKILLS. I won't be surpised when at the end of the novel, he has like one skill that has every skill or something. He can fight the two weakest(I think) "True Dragons" which are the strongest beings in Tensura when he has like 1/8 their Existence points(Basically Power Level) and even avoids something close to the speed of light I think thanks to Ciel.
