I live here in Florida and after working outside in the heat all day there is nothing better than coming home to anything pickled. You instantly gain your electrolytes and potassium back. Just a little snack before dinner brings you right back. Not only is the brine re-usable but also a few swigs of the juice gains back loads of energy. I will be trying this recipe this weekend. Thank you Sarah!

I make 3 different heat levels. Depending on my mood, and the guest's heat tolerance, I pick the appropriate jar/jars and commence to feast.

@@cookiteatit5598 Dear Cook It Eat It; I have been making organic raw apple cider vinegar for a few years now. It is amazing, delicious, and will fit right in with what is being done here. There are many recipes online. I wash the apples, cut and core them..I use the outside skin, leave it in the cored apple. Put them all in a Harsch type crock, let nature take its course, it’ll turn into cider in 2 months or so, then uncover the crock, cover loosely with a clean cotton towel, and it will turn into vinegar in 3 weeks or so..There are tools to test the alcohol content of the cider..I personally just go by smell :-) When the cider smells like weak alcohol, it’s ready to turn into the vinegar :-)
Hi Sarah. Just to add to my comment earlier about they would make a nice gift. My wife did up your recipe and made half dozen quarts. Half the jars are just picked eggs and the other half is eggs and moose garlic sausage we had in the freezer. Not all of our family likes wild game. They look delicious sitting in the jars. We will let them soak a few days before we try them. Thank you again for bringing the recipe out to remind us of this delicacy.
I wouldn’t be a fan but I live with a total lover of that kind of treats! It actually looks beautiful…all the colors. I would like the moose sausage……before it goes into the jar. Thanks for sharing Sarah. I’ve enjoyed all your videos so far.
Thank you Sarah for reminding us about pickled eggs. My wife used to make them all the time and were always we received very well. She picked up a few tips you posted and one of them was to give some jars of them as a gift. We know our grown family would love to get some as well as some friends. Excellent idea that we are going to get on right away. Thank you.
When I was a child in the 60's, my grandpa would take me with him to the local tavern, and on the counter there would always be huge jars of pickled pigs feet and eggs!
I’ll give you THE BEST egg peeling hack! It even works for fresh eggs! There are two methods: 1) Place eggs in single layer in boiling water & boil 15 mins for hard boil. Remove, place in ice & water to stop cooking. 2) Use a steam basket- Place steam basket in pot with 1 inch of water. When water is boiling, reduce heat, add eggs in single layer, cover & steam 15 minutes. Remove, place in ice bath. With both the shell peaks away effortlessly without having to use vinegar or baking soda. But I prefer the steam method because it ensures you don’t over cook the white (making it rubbery) or the yolk (which will give it that green outer ring)
OMG, I'm going to try this. I love pickled eggs and sausage too. This combination looks like it's a winner. Keep the videos coming. They are great. Thanks for all your efforts.
