One thing to add , to properly check the alternator you must give it a load , start the car and turn on the fans and headlights, turn on as much as you can , then check it’s output is still good. 👍 sometimes the good charge rate will disappear because it’s not handling a load , this is the reason for so many flat batteries in winter
Just changed the battery on mine, was a 2014 plate still on the original battery and had been stood flat for the last year whilst car was awaiting repairs due to an accident. I didn't bother checking the alternator, knew that was good as the low battery warning went away after a long enough run, bought one of those NOCO genius chargers and realized battery must be knackered with that saying full charge and the jag constantly saying "battery low, shutdown in 3 minutes" I went for the Varta G14 019 (with "silver technology" whatever that is.) German made but about £50 cheaper than the Bosch, ordered from Tayna.
That’s a good saving, I will definitely be changing my battery this year, I won’t trust it for another winter, I’ll give it a look. Glad your car is all repaired now and you can enjoy it 😁👍🏻
I’ve had 2 Jaguar XFs, both the 3.0ds model. The first one the alternator died, killed the battery. Right pain in battery swap as it needed the BMS resetting. Oddly enough I’ve just replaced the battery is my second XF and it was plug and play with no need for a BMS reset.

Merry Christmas, good advice.Back in January my alternator died all of a sudden.would advise not to drive the car if the battery warning comes on as all systems die very quickly and the car will just shut down . It's a pig of job to replace but doable if you take your time . Oh ,by the way I'm a Lidl fan too👍🍺 look forward to your future vids. Door actuators would be a good one.
Happy Xmas Graham, Lidl is the best lol. Yeah it’s a pain in the ass when the alternator goes, it went on my mums XF and it just died. I’ll look into the door actuator one, I haven’t had any trouble myself so will have to do some research. Have a great Xmas, it’s time to open presents now 😁👍🏻

Hi Paul, thanks for commenting and watching, great to hear another R100 owner looking after the car. The diff oil is definitely on my list to do, going to do the gearbox first, maybe the diff at the same time. Especially now you said yours was that bad, how many miles had it done?

Hey my man, I'm subbed (been following you awhile now and have turned others onto your channel with the same car) and have commented on a couple of your other vids and just picked the most recent one to ask you a question. So, I have a 2015XKR, have done the tune and upper pulley (watched your vids on those also for your ride) and thinking about finally doing the lower pulley, but to do it, I need to update my current tune and add an intercooler, which really requires pulling the front end off (which I will be doing myself as I have my other mods) and was just wondering after you having done both if you thought the extra money was worth it to add the lower pulley over what I already have? Thanks for your time and any more advice you can give me!!
Hey there, thanks for following my channel dude. The extra torque alone feels massive and really gives it huge power. It is definitely a big difference from just the top pulley, it’s when you can use it that is the problem because you have to be careful with it more. It’s a lot of power. Runs really well though, power all the way down from the bottom end and you can hear the supercharger whine really early. It’s a powerful mod, and definitely need the new tune for it.
Merry Christmas both. I am just about to purchase a ctek for my xfr as I only drive short journeys. I use one on my jeep and they are brilliant bits of kit. Shane do you know if they can be connected to the jump points under the bonnet? I'm 1 week into xfr ownership now and I'm totally blown away by how good it is.

Hey there, those figures look good, definitely 100ah battery is the way to go, so many places say the 90ah is suitable but it’s not. 95ah minimum. Where are you getting it from? Do you have a link?
Another great video full of information, I leave my car charging every night if I i'm not using my car for a few days.
Watched so many of you videos lately, Today I purchased a XFR, black. Pick it up Friday
Ooooooo nice!!! What year XFR are you getting?

Wow, I love this video, I had the same idea but you have reassured me, same issue with the Jaguar F Pace.
Great useful video, thanks. Does the battery device automatically switch off at full charge?
Yes it doesn’t overcharge, good little charger for the money. Halfords version is twice the price.

Hi Racer, i got a set of pedal cover's, is it best to stick them down with a strong 3M tape or tiger seal?
They should have either nut and bolt fixings or they should clip over.
Make sure you take the old rubber ones off.

I would try charging it first, but I urge you to buy a tool like I have in the video to check the battery and also check the alternator
