Ah Tunneler beast, my favorite set from this wave. I remember seeing it in a small toy store and when I finally convinced my mom to buy it , it was already gone, turns out someone had bought it 40 mins earlier, I was heartbroken for months😂. Luckily a years later a family friend went to the USA and somehow managed to finally get it, and we met in a pizzeria, I was so ecstatic that i built it while waiting for my order to arrive. After the pizzeria my mom made me do my homework so i couldn't play with it 😑. Thank you for the awesome video man, it brought back so many good memories 😊

3:44 I feel obligated to point out that this design is not by shadowgear. He used Syoya' core hunter design for this moc, the construction is fully copied, of course, without the use of a mask. He changed the leg design a bit, but the use of the jaw was implemented by syoya. Shadowgear made it clear that this is basically not his construction, I just want to spread the legacy of an underrated mocist

Even though it wasn't popular, there were some great parts that came from this wave of hero factory. I have all of the invasion from below set's.

No use for the parts of tiny Surge? I've definitely seen some people make little Matoran using the helmet. Those arms also have multiple connection points. There's potential for other creative ventures with those parts.

this is very nostaulgic for me, as it was my first time going to japan in 2015, i got 2 "invasion from below" sets from legoland japan. i still have these sets today :). this was an awesome video. thanks mate!!

Invasion from below shows how well a CCBS based Godzilla theme could work.
Since one of the main aspects of both CCBS figures and Kaiju are their size. Combining them would not only make the sets minifigure scaled more easily, but also make them a lot more cost efficient than if they were brick built.
Bionicle was their peak. My brother and I used to save money from our allowances as kids to buy the OG Toa sets. They were so different to everything Lego was putting out at the time, we *had* to collect them all. I have so many sets from most of the Bionicle lines.
I remember getting this set as well as other (bigger) sets from Invasion from Bellow. I liked them because it gave me Pacific Rim vibes with the kaijus and mecs. The new pieces were so cool to me and gave me so much inspiration for crazy beasts designs and other CCBS creations !
duckbricks needs to do hero factory fanon contests, so much possibility for set-sized kaiju!

The underbite jaw mold isn't used on the legs on that moc, it's actually the upper jaw in black, I have a few, you can get them from the purple set I forgot what it is called
I just bought my first Bionicle bulb and it came off a complete rahkshi and a complete bohrok and a bunch of other things for 100 bucks also love your videos by the way give me so many great ideas, but I’ve never had biological before

A Tunneler beast fights a Visorak
Who wins?
If we're talking canon scale, probably Tunneler Beast. Thing is just B I G.
If we're downsizing the Beast to just the size of a Visorak, probably the Visorak's gonna win. Their rhotukas are quite OP, and some even have extra abilities, like voice mimicry and camouflage (though realistically, a tunneling creature is gonna have bad eyesight anyway)

@@Foaklore the Bionicle wiki says their size can vary from 6-12 feet tall (roughly 2-4m) and 9-18 wide (3-6m).
I quickly skimmed the Hero Factory wiki's page on the Tunneler beast, but couldn't find any info on their size, so this is purely gonna be speculation and pixel measurement.
First, I will assume Surge is close to the size of a Toa (that is 7 feet tall, or just slightly over 2m)
Second, I will use the first frame of the video to take my measurements.
The height of Tunneler, measured from the tip of the front-right leg to the top of its back, is about 1.75 Surges. That comes out to 12.25 feet, or a tiny bit over 3.7m
Since Tunneler is close to standing in a 3/4 perspective, and its 4 legs make an approximation of a square, I will assume the distance between the back-right and front-left legs are √2 * width apart. ...But since the tip of the front-left leg is not visible in the picture, I will have to use the "thumb" claw of the left hand. The distance between them comes out to 2 Surges and a Head, so about 15 feet, or 4.5m. Since it's the diagonal, we divide that by √2, and we get ~10.6 feet, or 3.2m
Final estimate of the size of a Tunneler Beast is:
12.25 feet / 3.7m tall
10.6 feet / 3.6m wide
Which is kinda close to the smaller Kahgaraks
