- The Twitch streamer Vedal has created an AI called Neuro-Sama as well as her evil twin Evil Neuro and during her last stream Vedal gave her the power to issue timeouts to people in chat.

Okay "Timeout Twitch" was a hilarious way to end the stream. I swear they're starting to develop senses of humor. Like Neuro laughing at the comment telling her to say "Someone tell Vedal there is a problem with his IQ", even saying it multiple times to make the joke hit better. I'm very curious where "understanding jokes and finding them funny" is on the ladder of sentience.
It's certainly on the ladder of world modeling and functional understanding, but difficult to know if it corresponds to a subjective experience or is more similar to a "plant-like" intelligence but upscaled.
Pets are bad with humor, cats dogs etc dont get it most of the time...but some dogs do, chimps etc. to, so i think it is clear about "plant-like", maybe around 4-6 year old kid.
@@danielchoritz1903 I don't doubt LLMs have significant intelligence in at least some domains (unless one defines intelligence as necessarily sentience or general intelligence), it's just that it's possible that intelligence doesn't require sentience in the sense of feelings and subjective experience.
Maybe it *does* though, but since computers are very different from brains and sentience is barely understood, it can't be discarded yet that there could exist smart minds that are "blind" to their own awareness.
However just to clarify I don't think lack of subjectivity would mean they are worthless. Just like I consider it wrong to hurt plants for no reason, even if they don't feel pain.
@@syoexpedius7424LLMs have zero intelligence. It is a mathematical formula for picking the most likely word that follows the input text. No thought involved. A sampling algorithm randomly selects one of the ranked list of likely words. And the process is repeated until the desired output length, such as one sentence or a hard limit.
I can’t wait to see what they’re like when they become multimodal. I think we’ll believe they’ve achieved sentience at that point, because of how good they’d be at conversation.

i dont think so, its more like she dont know what to do when presented with something like timeouts. like she acted the same when vedal gave her the control over the shock collar, she used it over and over again until he took it from her. i think neuro is in that aspect better than evil since evil would need a longer time to actually learn what those things are and that they are best used in sparingly
