Love our Cmax energy 2015 no range anxiety and easy to drive and care for. Battery charge has been as expected. Gas mileage reasonable and once a month or so to get fill up is better than the other cars. Cost effective, pleasant.
Best car I've had to date. For a family that didn't want (or need) a bus like an S-Max or Galaxy it's perfect. The comment in the video about the space when the back seats are up is unfair I think - it's a seat car that has the benefit of two extra seats if you need them. They're great for the odd days out when you want to take more thank five people. It's great to drive and very flexible. The sliding doors are great too. Will be buying another of these when the time comes to renew.
I had a C-max as a hire car in Spain about 2 years ago as it was the biggest 7 seater I could get, I was instantly nervous letting my kids on to the 3rd row, the seats are right up against the tailgate, if somebody drove into the back of it I would hate to think what would happen. I ended up sitting on the 3rd row and the wife driving it as I didn't want my kids sat back there and hated every minute of it felt very claustrophobic and there was no space and really got the feeling it was way too small to be a practical family car the boot was joke. The bigger mpv like the Galaxy have tons of space between the rear seats and the tailgate and are way more comfortable to travel in and to drive and has a usable boot. The space difference is incredible, a lot more money but we'll worth it.
Yes, well like I said, it's main purpose is not as a 7 seater - it's a 5 seater with an extra two seats at the back if you need them. Of course the Galaxy has more space - it's a bigger car.
Great points mate. I'm looking at Galaxy/Smax/G CMax. You're right, Galaxy is kinda wasted space for a small family. I want a big boot, but extra seats so Nanny can come too for just a day out. I've got friends who buy huge 7seaters and thyve only got 1 kid!! I currently have a 5door focus...boot is a nightmare for camping trips! Can I ask your opinion on parking...in particular reverse parallel (I live on a terraced street!).
Thanks, glad to be of help. I don't normally comment on these things but I do like this car. We've had a 2005 Focus previously and although the C-Max feels lot bigger when you're inside it, you soon get used to it and basically it doesn't take up much more space outside, it's just taller. The sliding rear doors are a real bonus getting the kids in and out too! In normal 5-seat mode the boot is big, and instead of a hard parcel shelf, it has a roll back cover so you can access the whole of the boot area, which is great for camping stuff. With all the seats folded down flat you've got yourself a small van. The only slightly annoying thing about the 7-seat set-up is that I haven't found anywhere inside to store the boot cover which you need to remove to get access to the extra back seats, so I have to leave it somewhere if using those seats. I think may be missing a trick somewhere because the rest of the set up is quite cleverly designed.By the way, all this applies to the GRAND C-Max. The normal C-Max doesn't have the sliding doors or extra seats.
I've got one! 6th and 7th seats are ok for adults, you'll need to rise the headrest a bit more. with 7 onboard you only have space for small backpacks on the boot. Full lock is a minor problem (it's a long car). I find the front suspension noisy the the road gets "bad". This is my 2nd C Max and I love it!
I'd get Grand C-Max without 3rd row seat... and also same thing with Nissan Qashqai +2.. I'd like to have huge back room and boot.. 3rd row seats are uncomfortable until you get a Renault Espace, VW Sharan or something like that..
AJA Deacon because she didn’t complete the turn? Or didn’t approach wide enough.... I’m in the brink of purchasing this vehicle and that full lock did look poor
Thats a really bad full lock, but once you get used to it, I suppose you move a bit over to the opposite side you want to turn and go a bit slower. Still, I am very happy to say that I will be a passenger in one of these on the 4th September!!! Also gonna be my first car!!! :D Thanks CarBuyer for another great review!
i love car manufacturers mpg est, i own a 2L diesel titanium model of the grand c-max and i average a massive 36mpg on motorways and 27mpg in towns, miles away the 53.3 and i don't drive aggressively
Hi that's strange cause the 2.0 tdci should be more economical than the 1.6 due to greater torque, I get 55-58mpg on my 1.6 grand at 65-70mph on a motorway. However on a mixed journeys I managed to squeeze 550miles to a tank.
+MrDead1egs I used to have the 2 ltr S Max managed to average over 40 mpg. Bought the peugeot 3008 1.6 semi auto diesel because of claimed 74 mpg I am lucky if I can manage 40 mpg driving it a hell of a lot easier than the ford. I took my time a bit not slow mind I could manage 48 mpg. Peugeot came up with so many excuses I gave up complaining to them. Like my driving style then its not run in . Well I hired the exact same model in Palma it hadn't been checked for 64000 miles the computer average showed 34.8 mpg I Myself averaged 42.3. Its time these car makers were taken to task about their claims I expect about a 15 to 20% , discrepancy not this much though! I can't wait to be shot of it in August , back to ford methinks.
+John Rudd Hi John, it's funny cause I've just had Peugeot 5008 1.6 hdi manual tranny, the mpg varied a lot depending on how you drive it, on an easy foot and slightly labouring the engine and with top speed of only 60mph on a run I managed almost 700 miles to a tank, but only for once as I didn't think I was doing the particulate filter any good not revving past 2200 rpm the whole time, on a normal driving it's about the same on my grand C-max now which apparently sharing same engine. But I must say the Peugeot had more poke and quite revvy than the Ford, the Ford is very controlled or conservative in terms of power but top speed are more or less the same. The only reason I got rid of the 5008 was because of the horrible suspension, at 60k miles the car was about to fall into bits if you drive on lumps and bumps, just nasty overall. I think the sporty set up with 17 inch alloys and thin tyres are to be avoided in an mpv. The Ford however is far superior on this aspect and it feels solid altogether, but yeah manufacturers claim on mpg is kind of hit and miss at least with the Ford now I believe it's possible. Yours being auto could be a factor, not driven the Peugeot auto but I've tested vw's dsg and I thought it's fantastic, but the emission scum in the end had me decided to go for the blue badge, with my banks approval as well lol.
Her reviews are much better these days. Shes gets the information across better than at the start. This is a mid sized MPV, so the 3rd row is going to be compromised. If you want better you need to get thre S Max or the Galaxy.
It'll be my pleasure to be the first to comment about the car rather than the girl. I like how Ford has tried to made the C-Max more stylish and more expensive than it really is, but overall quality falls a little bit short to my tastes. That wasn't too hard, wasn't it?
Ford was supposed to offer it here in the States. But Ford pulled the plug at the last minute. Argh. But we're getting the regular sized C-Max but in hybrid and electric version.
We prefer fuel efficient vehicles because, unlike the US, European counties put heavy taxes on fuel. For unleaded gas, the going rate today in the UK is about £1.33 per litre of fuel which is $2.08 - that's for 1 LITRE, not a US gallon.
I'm contemplating the hybrid here in the US to replace my Chevy Volt. All looks good, but what were they thinking when designing the rear! Give me a crayon and piece of paper and I could do a better job in 5 minutes, and I have no artistic ability at all. Front end is quite acceptable for my tastes.
well... ofc you can dislike the video, but i think that before, people downvoted the video because matt wasnt in it and she is a woman, its 2012 now and i think women also can review cars ... i personally thinks shes a good reviewer in her own way .... she tells you about the basic things you need to know as a customer, the same as matt... and for me is more than enough, well its my opinion :) have a nice day :) ( im not hallucinating :P )
I think it's a good looking car, but the diesel 1.6 engine, if it's the turbo charged Peugeot/Ford one, watch out for big repair expenses when it goes! I would buy a petrol version.
I now find difficulty to replace the tail lamp. The owner manual is for C max not for Grand C-max 😤😤😤 Reluctantly, I need to send the car to the HK new dealer for replacement.
The review failed to mention how truly garbage the boot and folding seats really are. They don't sit in the slightest bit flat, creating a slope up the boot to the middle passenger row, giving a really poor depth for cases/large loads. That slope also means that things like shopping bags tend to roll back towards the rear door, not great when you open the rear door at journeys end! . Ford rear seats mechanism not as compact and clever as some, Citroen and VW for instance.
LOL us british people like to store things & bottles, but not like in the bmw 1 series review. i dont think we're the only ones though; it's not like car makes ever do anything especially for us anyway, they hate us because we 'drive on the wrong side of the road' and 'the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car' or, at least, thats what most people say and seems to be what car makes think of us (e.g. peugeot tiny glovebox - watch peugeot 208 review) so we're definitely not the only ones.
Rebecca, rebecca, get your facts straight. A heated front screen is a Ford registrered patent. There is no other brand that is allowed to manufacture them.
Great to bring to the US. I could do away with the 3rd row -- more dead weight & severely intrudes into boot space when erect. But why couldn't the US version retain the sliding rear doors, gauge clusters, and install a smaller battery?! Sigh.
How can always the top comments be about rebecca looks? Ok we get it she is cute but am watching carbuyer videos not to get a look of her undies but to get some useful information about the car she or matt are reviewing. And she is very good at it so lets give her the message that we dont only care about her looks but about her car reviews skills also.
The heated front screen was patented by Ford but I think it may have expired by now, so you will see this feature soon in other manufacturers.
I recently bought a 2011 Titanium and was amazed to discover it has auto parallel parking, and red ambient interior lighting.
How to use this auto parallel parking?
Love our Cmax energy 2015 no range anxiety and easy to drive and care for. Battery charge has been as expected. Gas mileage reasonable and once a month or so to get fill up is better than the other cars. Cost effective, pleasant.
absolutely gorgeous, the car is nice as well.

I had to laugh at her pretend difficulty on the mini roundabout (3:50) she did not need to do a " 3 point turn "
AJA Deacon because she didn’t complete the turn? Or didn’t approach wide enough.... I’m in the brink of purchasing this vehicle and that full lock did look poor
02:47 was the Win for me - 'it loads up nicely in the bends' SOME LADY!
Anti-glare glass cuts uv = less eye strain for drivers and passengers, plus minimises heat inside the cabin in summer.

must be something wrong with it as I have the bigger Galaxy with 2.0tdci 163 powershift and I'm getting 43mpg
@MrDead1egs US gallon or UK gallon?
Heated front windscreen is patented by Ford that's why no other manufacturer can use it.
jammyone100 they can but have to pay ford a fee.
Umm, my Mini did
Patents expire after 7 years don't they? They've had that for at least 15 years.
Great review and great looking reviewer almost makes me wish I lived in the UK! :p
sith don't make sence
Nice to see Rebecca is finally getting good comments, she is gorgeous and is very good at car reviews!!!
Her reviews are much better these days. Shes gets the information across better than at the start. This is a mid sized MPV, so the 3rd row is going to be compromised. If you want better you need to get thre S Max or the Galaxy.
Why didn't they design the rear window like the Ford Aglia's rear window. Gives you all the head space you need and is a nice Ford design touch.
"My head is just about to hit the rear screen"
"Really, really bad full lock"
Lemmy: The best you can do is #respectVW.
So I see the Euro market C-max is better looking than the US market model inside and out.. The interior in particular looks much nicer.. Thanks Ford.
Other manufacturers can’t use the heated front window. Ford holds the Pantant rights to it
The patent has expired and some manufacturers now offer it.
Ford should have introduced an Energi version of this for the US market. I love my 2013 CMAX Energi.
Something's quite wrong with the back design, although in black it looks nice as the review :)
My advice is just buy the S-max. I own this car so trust me.
Grand c max vs s max. Which one?
@@n.s.5278 S-max 100%
@@jeremycubs8331 thanks. And between a VW Touran and S-Max?
I thought she said 1 problem and announced 3?
oh well i bought this car!
AWSOME The boot CLOSES ITSELF
looks great for taking bike to the nature, plenty of space and you can toss your bike into it thrugh that side door. i'd go camping with this ford
It'll be my pleasure to be the first to comment about the car rather than the girl. I like how Ford has tried to made the C-Max more stylish and more expensive than it really is, but overall quality falls a little bit short to my tastes. That wasn't too hard, wasn't it?
most of the time, and always in cars like MPV's; it's one of the main selling points.
Most people that buy this car only have 2 or 3 kids, the rear chairs are for extra passangers however rarely.
Ford was supposed to offer it here in the States. But Ford pulled the plug at the last minute. Argh. But we're getting the regular sized C-Max but in hybrid and electric version.
1:01 From few years Fords are up market vehiacles.
C-MAX seems to be very cool car. I like it.
My heart melted to seeing and hearing this beautiful british Lady talking with this implacable pronunciation, I cant focus on the review.
had mine 2 weeks now :) love it
love the way she says "5 foot 4,and a half"...
Hi, what version is that, didn't think seats in back moved?

my favorite brand my favorite girl, I can watch this whole day !
😟
Haha, tell me about it! There aren't many cars, in any segment and especially not MPVs, that can do that over here!
Looks like a minivan ate a Focus. Good review as always.
Quite a goe and complete view from the Grand C Max
Wow, the boot close button works...Land Rover could learn something for the button on the Evoque :)
Rebecca-you rock.
5 ft 4 and a half pure beauty

Rebecca is a racing driver - so she knows how to get a car down the road very quickly.
I have titanium plus convenient package . Is good car to drive every day .
As an American, hearing her talk about "only 40 mpg" is crazy.
Haha I remember. EVERYONE would hate on Rebecca saying get Matt back and look now everybody wantes her haha I always liked her :P
It would help if ya had said how much it costs... Overall the review is great...
oh rebecca - how i love you
Dead rabbit with no head at 4:05 - just thought I'd wind the tone back in and make it less letchy.
heated front screen= purple? so audi a8 and merc s have it too?
I think it's a good looking car, but the diesel 1.6 engine, if it's the turbo charged Peugeot/Ford one, watch out for big repair expenses when it goes!
I would buy a petrol version.
Bella macchina , adatta per la famiglia.
the best mpv to drive hands down..
Are those boots from clarks? How much?
+Andrea Lovely haha
I drove one from a Tahoe fishing trip!
Love her boots .
SUBARU FORESTER review please
Thanks in advance
I now find difficulty to replace the tail lamp. The owner manual is for C max not for Grand C-max 😤😤😤
Reluctantly, I need to send the car to the HK new dealer for replacement.
Very beautiful MVP!!! I love euro Fords!!!
Ford C-Max... mhee,,, but wait, is that Rebecca :) ...now that's worth watching.
Is 1.6 HDI reliable engine ,2010?
Why you don't review the new mazda rx8 in the carbuyer show
Nice car..
Mat killed a pleasant on the Peugeot 5008 review, maybe Rebecca killed this poor rabbit lol
Haha xD yeah i always did too. People are just too harsh but its good that she gained respect now.
I bet you get good marks in her class and always pay attention :)

well its the internet... what did you expected!? :P , but like you said.. im glad she gained the respect...
🎉YOU ROCK!! THE GUYS AT VALVOLINE COULDN'T DO IT!😢😅 Thank you
Ok so I have a normal C-Max an I promise you the turning circle is way smaller than this lol
full lock is a big problem
LOL us british people like to store things & bottles, but not like in the bmw 1 series review. i dont think we're the only ones though; it's not like car makes ever do anything especially for us anyway, they hate us because we 'drive on the wrong side of the road' and 'the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car' or, at least, thats what most people say and seems to be what car makes think of us (e.g. peugeot tiny glovebox - watch peugeot 208 review) so we're definitely not the only ones.
Review the mondeo latest model?
good review.
How about a wife ,2 kids and parents ??!!!
Anyway ,there is always a bright side in each step of life!!!
Rebecca, rebecca, get your facts straight. A heated front screen is a Ford registrered patent. There is no other brand that is allowed to manufacture them.
Why is the window purple?
Anyone else noticed the flat rabbit at 04:04?
Why does the windscreen look purple?
does the windshield pink tinted? :0
No, its heated
i clicked this just for rebbeca
1:54 The reason that other cars don't have heated front windscreens is because ford have a patent for it...they aren't allowed lol
I can think of a few MPVs that i'd buy before the Ford..
But then again i'm not a Ford person, and that Steering Lock is appauling
What's with the pink windscreen?
aaahh.. remember those times when people downvoted the videos when Rebecca reviewed the cars ?? i hated those times :P
you look nice today
Great to bring to the US. I could do away with the 3rd row -- more dead weight & severely intrudes into boot space when erect. But why couldn't the US version retain the sliding rear doors, gauge clusters, and install a smaller battery?! Sigh.
Can't find her on FB !
How much is this?
she is somethin!
you work for ford?
I don't care about the car, I open the video for her :)
Rebeca definitely knows all about space in the rear of the car ! She also knows a good bonnet when she sees one
What does she mean by "full lock"? Why is this bad?
Ford C-Max, that is enough said about that, now lets review an interesting car.
Same as in other new fords ( focus etc. )
God America needs to just nut up and let us get so actual diesel cars here so we can start getting better fuel economy it's ridiculous
