Being episode #1, it was obviously the 1st one most of us saw. I was immediately hooked. Centering on Grand Master Yoda and his "being" was a perfect choice for a starter episode. So well done, only thing I would've wanted to see in hindsight is a sort of "set up" for the entire situation in the galaxy at that moment, but they did that in subsequent episodes anyhow, so no real complaints.

This is still one of my all-time favorite clone wars episodes; not only did we get to see the classic Separatist ass-kicking Yoda from the prequels, but we got to see something that the prequels didn’t really show, which was how well Yoda treated the clones and the respect he gave to every single one of them. All in all, the GAR did use them as disposable slaves (pretty much cannon fodder), and I personally believe that they deserved better, clone or otherwise… but Yoda still made sure to give them all the same respect he would give to fellow Jedi masters. I loved this!! Loved the look at Yoda’s character development across various storylines. LOVED the comparison to Yoda being like an old hippie. Perfect!
This is honestly one of my favorite episodes. I loved Yoda and his interactions with the clones. The part I also really enjoyed was how tonally different the Toydarian King and his guard were from Watto, who at that point had been our only example of the Toydarians. I mean those guys must have some beskar balls to face down and not run from Ventress.
Thank you for doing this series 😊. I just restarted the clone was and I had forgotten about all the hidden gems in the series. I’m so glad some one is spreading the good word.
This is so very true. It is epic that The Clone Wars got to really explain alot of the characters and even such concepts like the Force and the politics of The Galaxy with The Republic and Separatists among all of the other things . Simply speaking... Star Wars The Clone Wars is AMAZING!
Yeah, I love this episode because it shows Yoda as a Master Jedi, not someone sitting in a council chamber all the time. I also love the fact that he appreciates the clones as individuals, which they all are, plus you get to see Dooku and Ventress. It was a great way to open the series up!
This episode in my opinion is truly what classic clone wars is. Outnumbered clones. With a Jedi Master against the mass army of droids and of course a sith. This episode has almost all the aspects I love about the clone wars. Funny droids, unique badass clones, classic jedi and some light interesting politics.
I can understand the differences, OT to prequels. He was in a very different time in his life and a very different environment. When joking with Obi-Wan, he was with the children and I bet he was a little more laid back with them while not engaged in a lesson. But most of the council scenes were discussing very serious matters with potentially galactic implications. I would love to see more of Yoda in future content.

To this day I still watch that episode. I still love Yoda in it.
Nice vid!
I loved this!! Loved the look at Yoda’s character development across various storylines. LOVED the comparison to Yoda being like an old hippie. Perfect!
I loved how that scene where he's talking to the clones basically introfuced the concept of The Force version of a soul . . .
We need more of this Yoda in our lives.
Definitely one of my favorite episodes. One of many favorite episodes
I remember watching that episode and found myself crying happy tears from the heart to heart with the clones cause it was so well done
Thank you this ambush has to be one if not my fav ep and it doesnt get enough love
Happy u upload this .....I'm having tons of nostalgia with cartoon network memory
Thank you for doing this series 😊. I just restarted the clone was and I had forgotten about all the hidden gems in the series. I’m so glad some one is spreading the good word.
This was probably the best use of B1s for comedy. The fact that the commander is just a normal guy makes the others' idiocy seem reasonable.
This is so very true. It is epic that The Clone Wars got to really explain alot of the characters and even such concepts like the Force and the politics of The Galaxy with The Republic and Separatists among all of the other things .
Simply speaking... Star Wars The Clone Wars is AMAZING!
One of my favorite episodes of the series.
Love this analysis. You're right, this episode really managed to get the best of both worlds from Yoda
The D-squad arc will definitely be in this series, right?
Its literally the most overrated arc
@@kub5615 *entertaining
This is one of my favorite episodes of the entire show.
this explains why this was one of my favorite episodes
Holy crap you created a series and content I didn’t even know I needed. Thank you for another fantastic video, Geetslys!
Awesome, awesome explanation of whom Yoda truly is...balance!
I think its an excellent idea to comb through and find a few underrated parts of the clone wars, good video!
I like this little series of underrated arcs.
Great video and great idea for a video series. I'm currently on my third re-watching of Clone Wars, and this episodes really impressed me this time too. I can't wait to see what other story arcs you feature!
V excited for what y’all do with this series. Great stuff
Yoda's heart to heart talk scene was the best scene of the episode
I actually always had a laugh when I saw ambush. I loved yoda in that episode so, so much
I truly love this episode and u have described everything I loves about it great job
I instantly know this is gonna be a good video idea
Some episodes I watch for comfort, and some I watch because they are epic. The first few episodes fit both categories for me
Super interesting insights! Thanks for the awesome video!
I already know I'm going to love this series
THIS arc is actually underrated ...? I thought we ALL loved it and saw the true yoda in action.
A Strong Start to a series.
Which also had a great finish but that is getting ahead of things.
Given that I haven’t watched a lot of this in a long time, i haven’t really analyzed it as much as I should, but the sheer level of philosophy in Star Wars always amazes me
I was 9 years old in 2008 stoked like crazy for the first episode of the show. My mom got me all of the toys from the animated movie that I saw in theaters and then I saw the trailer for the show on Cartoon Network and I just lost my mind.
This was one of my favorite episodes.
When I was a kid I had this episode and only this episode on dvd and watched and rewatched lot of time and I thought the same things exposed in the video. I feel nostalgic right now :c Let me come back to the kid I was :(
Yoga is one of my favourite characters from clone wars let alone the Star wars franchise in general I enjoy that episode I'm just glad they didn't overdo it with him in the rest of the clone wars they put him where he needed
A fantastic video, I'm glad I found this channel and subscribed.
_Forgotten arcs in STCW: Ambush_ Anyone else besides me that have NEVER Forgotten this epic opening episode?
Season 1 was obscene amounts of fun and action. Saturday morning goodies with random insight and emotion the spice things up. Even had a slightly different opening. Favorite action sequence in the whole show is from trespass
