also thanks for the recomendations now I need to watch queen of the damned And I didnt know about sleep token, you're right, "Hey ya" and "Is it really you" are really good!
Damn, for some reason this video made me feel incredibly alone. The somber echoes of the bass mixed with the close, personal whispers make my lonely heart weep for things that could have been and could never be. I wish there was someone I could embrace to the strumming of the bass. Incredible.
In the arms of the right player, a bass does not need other instruments to sound good. And Sulky is one of those players because hot DAMN these lines are good.
I guess bass always sounds good. But it's an instrument made for supporting the others instruments and make the whole song feel complete, so of course sounds better in the mix. It's like a support class in a RPG game party: Can solo the entire dungeon alone (done with a lot of effort), but plays only supporting every member.
I think the audio effect of the music hall is super cool, and the pattern of bass plus short, soft spoken interlude makes my brain happy. Super chill and tingly
My favorite is at 13:30 really atmospheric. Like I'm driving down a road in the middle of a forest at night. Or maybe a countryside and there are street lamps appearing every few miles. But the road seems never ending. But the moment feels peaceful. Like I'm not worried about where I'm going, it's more retrospective of where I just came from. None of what I typed up makes sense but it's the emotion I felt from it. Feels pretty melancholic too.
I really love how you pull some of your own interests into these videos. I've said it before, but it really adds a lot of personality and passion. Thank you for being yourself and for sharing it with the rest of us!
This video holds a special place in my heart. It's hard to explain why, but the thought of not having to worry about anything and just listen to a significant other play music just for you... It feels like everything I've always wanted
I definitely hear the *_tool_* influence in your songs. The atmosphere & bass tone is _just right._ Absolutely pleasant experience. Almost makes me wish I was there to experience the recital, in-person.
As I’m playing along to these at around 1:00 am, with your bass lines running in the back, I just play ‘lead bass’ (which doesn’t exist) over these and already I can hear the emotion in every single one. Very calming. Currently my most favorite before bed pass time
1st song: Has a somber tone that reminds me of someone that has to trek on regardless of the troubles they're going through, so.. Road of Ruin is a nice name I think. 2nd Song: Very melodic, something akin to background video game music where the main character explains all the bad stuff that happened in the past, an expositional song in a sense. Past Troubles would be a nice name imo. 3rd Song: Definitely background bar music. Bassy Bar. Btw, in between the 3rd and 4th song, I immediately got the feeling that you're like Spooky from Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion with the intermission speaking. Just how you were speaking and the echo and all that, gave me that impression. 4th Song: Waking up in the morning on a Monday is what this one feels like, eventually having to get up and force yourself to trudge forward to work. Monday Blues is good I think, also, you like Somber tones a lot huh? Holy crap you mentioned Loathe AND Sleep Token along with Deftones? Crazy, we got the exact same interests in songs. Crazy. IS IT REALLY YOU!?!? My FAVORITE song by Sleep Token!? You gotta actually give me your main spotify playlist lol. Sleep Token is #2 to Deftones, both give me that ethereal kind of feeling. 5th Song: The day is over, now you're walking/driving home, and it starts to rain. You decide that you wanna change the day a bit, and just go to the park and vent your frustrations in life. Your job, your coworkers, your love life, everything, before being tired out and continuing on the way home. Discontent Drizzle. I think I'll stop there for now, I think such a giant message is probably annoying lol.
@@sulkycats Fine fineee lol, why not! I enjoyed it so.. 23:23 6th Song: Felt like trudging through a desert in a sense, almost like you'd hear this in a video game or movie while the MC was struggling and barely making through the heat. Wasteland Walk 28:02 7th Song: Gives me a big feeling of looking out the window as a kid on the bus to school, completely enamoured by what is outside, letting your thoughts and imagination take over. Imaginary Mind. 32:43 8th Song: Contrasting the last one, just feels like you're an adult looking outside at life while realizing that your brightest and blissful days as a kid are gone, that life isn't gonna play as nice anymore. Somber Serenade. 36:55 9th Song: Feels like an introduction to a villain and the chaos they reaped. Like some MC walked into a destroyed down, seeing flyers of the the destroyer everywhere. Quite hopeless sounding, which uh, isn't an insult! Promise! Embracing Despair. I've been to a Chevelle concert most recently, which is like years ago lol. But it was very very nice! Too bad I didn't do much concert hopping when I was younger, oh well. Life goes on. This concert is good enough to me haha. 42:33 10th Song: Not super complicated, but that's fine, doesn't have to be. But it does remind me of a typical day. Waking up, getting ready for work, and going to work. Probably not satisifed with life either. Everyday Dissatisfaction. KNEW it was a fender, and damn, I didn't even watch the whole thing when I made the other comment! Go me! 47:06 11th Song: Even though life has treated you hard, you keep on walking forward. Another day, that's fine if nothing changes, long as you keep walking forward until that day comes. Strum of Perseverance. Don't know any drummers, but would love to listen again for sure! As for Covers... Glass Eyes by Radiohead. Has a lot of basic piano but that should translate to bass strumming quite easily I hope. Great job all around, might inspire me to take up the Bass lol.
Another sleepless night, and unlike the past, I found your video. Very good music, very relaxing to listen to, and even made me pick up my bass that has been gathering dust in the corner for a long time. Thank you Sulky!
Sulky, you never fail to disappoint. You're a very talented person. I will continue to listen to every ASMR and BASSMR that you post, not mentioning as well as your covers for some songs.
What a wonderful melody! I could spend hours contemplating this divine song, I hope that you, young lady, live a long and prosperous life so that you can continue to bless us all with your wonderful ASMR videos and music.
for something so untraditional for asmr this is so freaking relaxing. i don’t know about other people but i feel like each song had a mood to it. great job!
I played bass back when i was 13 but i bitched about how my fingers hurt and switched guitar (which i still play today). After discovering your channel and hearing you play My Friend of Misery, I want to play the bass again because i felt I under appreciated bass. Thank you for doing these BASSMR videos
BASSMR is the best thing in the world! Is it me or your bass skills are getting better every single time?!?! It sounded really cool/good... And so relaxing! Kind of wish to see an actual close up video of the bass and the fingers on the fret board! It sounds "so easy" when you play those songs!

I'm always glad you mention the music you're into lately cause we have such similar tastes in music so I can find more stuff to listen to! This was very relaxing, and a good excuse to keep you practicising haha thanks for the video 🤍
Always love some bassmr, first one was amazing and so is this one. Also never knew Sleep Token had covers of other songs, so thanks a lot for mentioning that, guess il have to go on another Sleep Token binge after this.
This was amazing. Peak, the best. One of the videos of all time. I've gotten ASMR from certain basslines before, (Namely, Primus: The Toys Go Winding Down), and to have that mixed in like this *fuck~* These basslines also gave that feeling, it's so soothing, so well wrapped together. The whispering voice, the murmur of the bass- Bravo, Sulky!
Honestly do be enjoying these a surprising amount. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing more videos of this sort of thing. ^^ Plus it's rather unique. Helps ya stand out :D
My birthday is coming up soon so I went out and bought myself a bass today. I've always loved how basses sound and this video was one of the things that inspired me to learn to play for myself. As such, I've named my bass Sulky after you.
You have the sound balancing so RIGHT, if sounds like we are both in a small room with the door closed, not uncomfortably small. Just the right size to not eat sound so a quiet voice will do without it sounding like some one is plowing in my ear. I love it, very relaxing

Thank you. Your BASSMR videos are wonderful, relaxing and are inspiring me to pick up my guitar again. Also got me thinking of getting Bass now.. maybe. XD The bit of story is cute. A little awkward but in a sweet way. Its nice and continues the story from the first BASSMR vid :) You do some fine work here. So, please, keep at it. Looking forward to what comes next. Stay awesome! \m/
18:03 reminds me of when I go storm chasing out in during tornado season. I remember the day of the Pilger Nebraska twins. I watched them from a distance with no rain obstruction with my grandfather. The bass really took me back. Keep slapping those strings.
I recently gave in and finally listened to Loathe's "I let it it and it took everything" and youre so so so right about "is it really you?" That song is otherworldly. I havent been able to get the bridge with the scary Text-to-speech whispering out of my head its so awesome!!! Anyways, you should listen to Fleshwater!! Theyre in the same ballpark of music that Loathe are in, and theyre pretty swag methinks. Also also your videos are awesome 🥰
Holy crap the first song sounds like it should be a theme for an apocalyptic world. I enjoy these BASSMR vids deeply. Keep up the awesome work!

21:25, that's a pretty tasty riff.
Holy shit, that riff has no reason to go that hard
Kinda sounds like it belongs in Tool
Gives me Fear Inoculum vibes
oh my god it does O.O! i can see the psychadelic music video already@@thebasskid9543
Sounds inspired by Iron Maiden's bass lines.
Gives off sound of perseverance by death vibes
Cap, she said her fav bass player isn't Davie504.
Clearly this must be Davie504's other alt using a voice changer. The simps will be checkmated once again.
