For a date reference, the sign was manufactured in 1981, it's way earlier than the double letter elimination program that took place in 1985, but because a lot of the signs on the rolling stock were so outdated, with some of them haven't been updated since Chrystie Street, the rolling stock these signs were made for got these signs that early. To add on, the N Q and R are in white letters, this would be updated to black letters in 1984 if I'm not mistaken.

Foam rollsign! I don't think it's a 1987 rollsign since the 1984 rollsigns with black Broadway text have V, and it seems too close to GOH.
This is mostly is a 16-32-38 sign. Some R30s had these as they mostly had the Black on Broadway and Mega Bold Fonted signs
