Dynasty Warriors games are great comfort games. Sometimes you don't wanna try and just feel like obliterating thousands of nameless identical ancient Chinese soldiers to really kickass soundtracks. Doom is like that too, only replace ancient Chinese soldiers with demons.
I almost always have a Bethesda game (or New Vegas) save going. I usually end up visiting all of the games I've ever really liked in a cycle of 3 years or so. I can do this until I die with no problem. Current games in the cycle are Skyrim and Kenshi.

I remember my most favorite mod for age of Empire 2 most was 600x to everything you can get into some realy dumb games with that.
