“Healing your trauma and healing your whānau is the new cool thing, it’s the new in thing, it’s new gangster, and that’s what real gangsters do”. Well said Zoo, and what an unreal story and journey you’re on. Keep pushing the positivity brother, and thank you Dave for bringing us another unreal story. Many blessings to you both, keep doing gods work.

@ I agree, but in his case foundation is key brother. And from what I took away from his story is that he didn’t have that support there from a very young age. Very common reason as to why people end up on destructive paths unfortunately. Product of his environment.

I used to graze my horse in the paddock opposite centrepoint and as a 13 year old I was fascinated with the place. Until a new girl started at school. Her family had sold everything and moved to centrepoint. She hated it. And she said she was too scared to sleep 😔 I changed schools not long after that conversation & have always wondered what happened to her 🙏🏻

You articulate yourself very well which shows the strength within. I hope more people who can relate or have been through traumatic experiences reach out who have had their voices taken from them. You & your whanau are blessed. You're making a massive impact & setting a wicked example to the younger generations & all generations not just here in New Zealand but hopefully all over the world brother 🙌🏽

Child sexual abuse is and has been an ongoing epidemic but as a society we don't treat it like that. I honestly think for us to evolve psychologically and emotionally as a species this abuse that occurs globally needs to be acknowledged in a very direct way. Why isn't there more studies and research gone into this? It feels like the most evil thing you could you could come up with yet it's so common as we are learning now from people who are speaking about and healing from their abuse

    • @cameraop8210

Anyone that knew Bert Potter in the 70s and 80s would never have thought he would have a grandchild that becomes a crip and a Black Power member in the future, life is surprising like that. I found this interview most interesting. I agree with what he expressed..... centrepoint was a really good concept, its just the abuse that went on in the background that was terrible, its a shame.....

Life changing in so many was +/- the fact this man was raised in Centrepoint just mind-blowing insanely similar paths X my heart goes out to this man side note he would have been very dangerous as a bad gangster so very glad this man has been on the path .... The healing journey of redemption.....you are a survivor...well spoken great vocabulary excellent communication of his recollections. ❤ Thankyou for this awsoem Dave great interview well done zoo
