$2,000 is ridiculous for most homeowners. Give me a break. Buy a Fiskars Max and save $1,800.
I agree. This mower isn't for everyone. But in terms of wanting a better cut than a Fiskars and not wanting to spend 5k or more...

Thats for someone who's already invested an ungodly amount of money and labor into their lawn already and that is coup de gras for achieving absolute perfection.
If you notice that lawn is as smooth as a pool table. Golf courses ain't even that perfect.
Try and cut that short with a fiskars, not happening. I have a fiskars and can’t get below 1.5” without washboarding. Like comparing a Pinto to a Ferrari .

My neighbor used a big push-mower back in the 1960s, when I got a house in 1987 I used a push mower and push-edger.
I prefer my 100 pound Webb WEH12R manual reel mower

When I was a kid in the 1960s and 1970s i used and owned Locke lawn mowers. They were built in Bridgeport CT and were the best at mowing estates and other beautiful lawns. I used to lap the reels so that they cut like scissors.

It looks like a great manual reel mower however for just over $2000 I would rather buy a electric one

In this country we have crap manual reel mowers for $200 and we have the Hudson Star for $2500. There’s nothing in between

@raybrowning2188 CL Clipper has some under 1k options but you're not gonna get professional features with them.

How does that hold up when cutting across the grain, does it tend to pull toward / with the grain ?

Nope. It weighs almost 90lbs the only time it drifts is with undulations like Mowjobs described towards the end of the vide.

Manual Mower was the topic of discussion. Also it’s worth mentioning none of those mowers are capable of cutting as low as the Hudson nor is the quality of cut even comparable.
Never seen this channel until now... I noticed that you got too fancy with the B roll, and it was distracting. One rate of 'slow-mow' would have been way better, instead of jumping all around in the editor.

Do you have experience with LM4D/BARONESS?
MAYBE IF IT HAD A SEAT AND A ELECTRIC MOTOR PLUS IT SEEMS TO BE HARDER TO SHARPEN BLADES ON THIS MODEL

too bad these hudson mowers cost over $2.5k
Only for the people that can’t afford it really. Remember the mower is targeted to professionals golf courses that buy brand new Toro and John Deere greens mowers. $2.5k for the equivalent performance and half the weight is a no brainer for that community.
does your reel cut paper? Because both of mine don't but i've seen the German competitors mower cut paper.
Short Answer is Yes my mower cuts paper but cutting paper is not an indication of a quality cutting machine that will stand the test of time

I really like the design and so far all the reviews i've seen, if you want a manual reel mower, this would be the one.
However, for a few dollars less Canadian for us folks up north, you could buy an Allet Liberty 35. It pretty much looks identical to an Allett minus the battery pack and electric mower.
Those are designed for residential use.

That mower reminds me of when I was coming up we had a push mower like that with that roller on the back of it and I had to cut the grass it was fun to me.✨💚

The only one that comes close was Striperman's modified Fiskars from 2019. Which had cup holder, phone holder, lights and enough room on it to put plenty of stickers from the community 😂. Other than Hudson was the first guy to stripe with a manual reel mower. 👍💚🦸
