I have not had a chance to try the game with the 1.04 patch yet, but the online matchmaking has barely even worked since the 1.03 update. The 2 vs 2 is completely broken, you are lucky to even get a match after trying for 20 plus minutes. As far as bugs they missed, they still haven't fixed most of them from the previous version.
I play 90% online Multi Player and 10% society through Steam. Up untill this patch online MP was so-so. Generally playable if you have a good/fast internet connection. Game crashes are rare but still there. Handicaps do not work properly for strokeplay and stableford formats (game crashes after a few holes). Hopefully they fixed this now. The game has no 'gimme' option for matchplay formats?? (this is no glitch but a major goof really). Drop option when hitting in water is still badly done. Also a major goof! Should be improved asap!! These are standard golfrules which should be in a golfgame! Playing online MP also has (sometimes) the game not alligned properly with the other player: i.e. on greens some putts will go in the cup on one end and miss the cup on the other! Hopefully this is fixed. Splash (and Flop-) shots are indeed tricky and could/should be tweaked a bit as its bordering on the unfair now. Glad chips are forbidden from the sand though. Club selection in My Player was glitchy as clubchanges would set the whole set (or some clubs) back to the default clubs!? Hope they fixed this bug.
Hey Ryan, personally I have played hundreds of rounds in real life and sand shots still scare me more than any shots, so in my opinion, let the sand shots in the game duplicate the real life. Let a sand shot be tough. Honestly we all have to admit the sand shots and chips in 2K21 was way too easy. Time the game gets more authentic and realistic. We just have to step up our concentration and make a good shot. Let’s GO!
hey Nick! Yeah I have been really working on my splash shots after the patch, and I have been getting a lot better. I am starting to like the splash shot a little bit
I hate the chip change, but I understand the fact that no one chips up and out of a bunker...if they make the splash a hair more forgiving it would be the best balance.
First game after the patch online head to head game crashed on the first hole then the lobby crashed causing the need to reset the game. From my experience the patch has made no difference with online stability
My enjoyment went way up when I learned about chipping from bunkers. Best moment of my entire gameplay has been chipping in from a bunker to secure a birdy. I'll play after work but it's possible the splash shot difficulty will severely reduce the amount of time I'm willing to put into this game. Being so heavily punished when you're already in a tough spot is not fun. I'm supposed to be role-playing as a tour golfer, I should be able to splash consistently.
Yeah I think the splash shots should be more forgiving from the sand. A miss is just so punishing. I can see a lot of players flopping from the sand instead of splash as well because it is a little more forgiving, not much though.
@@Wvgrizz I like having some risk from execution, I don't think I'd enjoy it without timing. I'm playing on Pro and it's the right amount of frustrating for me haha
the main thing that is ridiculous is the frequent crashes/freezing where the game will not advance on some replays/and even after a shot. The ball will rest and you will wait for the camera to darken for the next screen, and nothing happens. Replays are generally messed up and need polishing. Those things are problems and should be addressed first, before any ancillary gameplay improvements like golf ball sleeves/ and other things. Also, some of the MyCareer stats are wrong in the menu screen. It's ok when you play and when the entire event is complete, but the standings are frequently wrong like if players are minus 1, it will show plus one, etc. SO it will be cool if those things are smoothed out. I personally don't care about the other stuff, just make a playable game experience. Great in depth stuff as always Ryan
Also playing on Series X it does appear they have reduced the graphics in the latest patch it now looks more like 21 not sure if anyone else has noticed this
I like the idea they want to keep the game realistic but chip shots from aand was my go to. I ha nt played a game today yet being o just got home amd watched your video. Do you think a splash or flip shot will be better from the sand? I used neither really in the game so i guess it to the practice feild for me bedore i continue going through the campaign courses again.
I feel like a lot of players will be using a partial flop shot, because it is a little more forgiving than the splash and has good spin control. I am going to have to practice a lot on both splash and flop shots
I think removing chips from bunkers is a positive...splash is unforgiving but they are in real life too! I think with a bit of practice and practice shots before you splash and you soon get used to it!
Don't understand why everyone is so scared of the modified balls. Everyone has the choice to spend money on them. Not everyone has the time to play long enough to get all legendary fittings... should we restrict those also ??
Yeah sand shots are going to be very challenging. I am pretty ahead on recording pga career mode series videos, so it will be sometime before you see Ryan Splash from the sand LOL!
Hey Ryan, I got the update. PS4, game is becoming unplayable. Extremely worse. Way too may hesitations. Meter is all over the place, fast slow, character is always facing to the right after the shots. I'm almost ready to cancel my my PS plus membership and ask for a refund on this game. I can't believe their programmers can't fix these errors. Totally frustrated
Wow that is very frustrating you are experiencing all those issues. Sounds very unplayable in that state. I would submit a support ticket to 2k that way they are aware of the problems you are having. Here is a link to submit a support ticket to PGA 2K23: support.2k.com/hc/en-us/sections/8351717700627-PGA-TOUR-2K23 Hope this gets sorted for you ASAP
I'm on the fence about buying the game. I have The Golf Club and PGA Tour 2K21, I feel the series has been improving over time and I'm still playing 2K21. For me to hear that the punch shot is in and chipping from the bunker is out are plusses in my mind. I appreciate the challenge these changes present but I'm waiting for a sale...unless you keep pushing me. 😁
@@GamerAbility A site called Green Man Gaming has an early Black Friday sale so I picked it up. As much as I’m going to miss the chip out of the sand, using the splash is going to get us better and used to the new splash. It’s much more difficult than 2K21 but, it’s going to help us get better. I think it’s a W.
Can they patch the default pitch shot PLEASE?!? I’m tired of having to switch to a full shot when it defaults to a pitch. This will save a lot of arguments between Ryan and Doc 😂
I cannot belive the amount of people that want an easy game. The bunker shot is a hard shot even for pros and it should be a hard shot in the game. I must admit I was getting bored with 2k21 as the short game was just to easy and was no challenge, what is the point of playing an easy game?

They need to fix the golf bag so your clubs save after you customize them…
Yes they do! There is a work around to only change one club at a time and never select apply to set. But this does not work for everyone

Yeah flyover feature for next gen consoles at least would be awesome, those consoles definitely have the power
I hate the chip change, but I understand the fact that no one chips up and out of a bunker...if they make the splash a hair more forgiving it would be the best balance.
Yeah making it more forgiving I feel like would be the sweet spot. It is just so punishing the way it is
I will chip out of a bunker irl, sometimes putt too
You get like a couple hundred dollars for winning the FedEx Cup that's weak maybe a hundred I wasn't paying attention it's not much
Splashing was a nightmare so it's going to be rough.
It won't just be rough, it'll be sand.
Yeah it is going to be a big adjustment!
Update for PS4 is 9.420GB

At first the ball sleeves was a no go but, I think there completely balanced imo. You get to pick which one you want based off your playing style.
TGCTours are restricting consumable golf balls beginning next week.
Thank you for sharing that Steve!
I never played this game but from everything you have shown and said, I feel like people are going to struggle a lot more in the sand.

How do I get the patch? I haven't got any notification about any updates and my version is dated to 2022-10-26 Build 487365. I am playing on PC.
So the update should just come through automatically on Steam. Not quite sure why it would not be showing up for you.
Nice work m8.

Flop out of the bunker works very well... more natural spin on the ball for shorter stop and less roll out
Yeah I think it will be good overall. I would like to see misses a bit more forgiving to balance it a bit more, especially for new players.
The calibration definitely needs to be addressed.
Yeah it does, would be great for them to add a reset calibration setting
we are all going to be splashing around!!
hoow’s life?,incredible video,amigo-🔥
Can they patch the default pitch shot PLEASE?!? I’m tired of having to switch to a full shot when it defaults to a pitch. This will save a lot of arguments between Ryan and Doc 😂
LOL!!! Yeah that is so true! I wish they would change it to always default to normal shot over around 70 yards.
T have a question why don’t have rory mcilroy in game 😕😕
I think he is under contract with EA sports.
He is likely under contract with EA for their new golf game coming out next year.
In local match I see around 10-12 player how to find other player in game 😕
No chip is an L there needs to be a better element of consistency with the swing before they start removing player options of play style imo
I wonder what they broke in this patch. 🙄
Only improvements hopefully..
Splash shot is too hard. I`ve been playing since TW10 and have rage quit and almost deleted this game because of this splash shot BS.
Yeah the splash shot needs to be more forgiving, it is just way too punishing the way it is now. I can see it causing a lot of players to rage quit
Awesome
Online is still brocken you can get into a game but the glitches are still there and also the game kicks you out more often than not
I hate to hear that. Sad to see the online problems still persist
W tbh
I still don't use the splash shot or only a few times... I prefer the flop shot from the bunker so far 😁
Yeah the flop shot can be really good from the sand!

Partial flops here I comeeee
Yeah that will be the shot we will see many hitting LOL!
