I have a UV-5G plus and recently got a set of RT 5 watt radios...they are definately nice. Me and my wife use them for camping and overlanding. GMRS radios are awesome, I will say that out of the 9 people in my group...I am the only one that has a license. lol
NO rusty need's to grow up and quit looking so dumb thay arent even using a repeater if thay where thay would be 20 miles apart rather than 2 miles on simplex time to grow up son.
my off road radio is just like yours in every way and if you need help you will get but I will never throw mine in the water to prove it's water proof as we with off road gear don't do dumb thing's like that so stop being dumb and move on down the road. rugged radio for ever.

all so the privecy codes will only let the radio talk to another radio with the same code but others will still hear you if thay pick your channel
