No permit needed to travel from Atal Tunnel.. Rohtang pass trip will need permit if you travel from that pass

No special permit needed.. all depends on checkpost personal and current border situation
Thanks a lot for the wonderful and informative videos. I am a indian national travelling to Ladakh with my 5 yr old daughter who is a USA citizen. Do I need to register her for visiting Nubhra, Pangong, Hanle and Tso Moriri? I understand kids below 12 yrs are not required to be registered but not sure what is the rule for kids who are foreign nationals with OCI.
I think you should register as her just to be on a safer side.. plus it registers a foreign national in the records for any help needed at all.. Although officially I am not 100% sure if it is mandatory or not.
If u miss the date in which I was supposed to travel for Nubra Valley from leh and start the next day will there be any problem according to the permit ??
No problem, you can just travel to these places within the dates that you have applied permit for whole of ladakh trip.. so as long as you are traveling in the date range for which environment fee is valid; it is OK

Jammu / Patnitop: Mostly stayed on the spot, so less guidance here
Srinagar: Most stayed in houseboats there, so no personal recommendation
Kargil: Hotel Greenland

If you reach leh through flight and stay there for 2 days and later commence the journey to remote places do you need permit for those 2 days?
No permit needed to stay in Leh. But apply for environment fee in advance because otherwise you will get locked on those two dates.

Road travel doesn't help in acclimatisation means, the Initial period of rest should not be replaced with road travel as it also comes under exertion. that's what I understood.
I am sorry if you misunderstood but what I mean is Road Travel from Srinagar to Leh and Manali to Leh will help in acclimatization but if you are flying to Leh then you should rest in Leh without much road travel as it causes exertion. If you can be more clear about your question then I can may be better clear it.

I’m a foreign national, live abroad. Planning to go Leh without any travel agent and rent a Taxi from Leh for Nubra and Pangong- the questions are
1. Can the driver act as an travel agent and take permit for us?
2. If not then can you suggest a travel agency who will only help me get the permit ? What would be the reasonable price for that service?
3. Do the hotels usually provide help to get the permits ?
4. How long it takes to get the permit from DC office or from website?
5. I’ll be staying one day idle at Leh for acclimatization on Saturday or Sunday, are the office open on Saturday and Sunday?
Well, here are the inputs and no question is stupid on my channel or blog..
1. Driver will mostly help you get through the process and get it done either himself or thru agent he may work with usually. No worries here. Very trivial process.

3. Yes, hotels can also get the permit.
4. 2-3 hours maximum.
5. Saturday mostly it is open and well you can email the documents to these folks in advance and they will take care of it.

Hi sir, I have taken that permit from 15-18 June. But now we are feeling that we should extend our trip to Ladakh. Can I take another permit from 19 to 21 or extend it?
Yes you can do that by applying for the dates from June 19 to 21 too. You only need to pay Rs 20 per day per person because the environment fee is applicable for the whole year as long as you will use the your same photo ID number and personal details, the system will not recharge you the environment fees
Dheeraj Bhai i visited ladakh last week and iam planning to go again in September should I carry the same permit?
You will need to apply for paying environment fee again using the same Photo ID number you used. However, this time the system will automatically show that you have already paid the environment fee of rs300 which is valid for one year. So, you will only need to pay Rs 20 per day per person wildlife fund fee for the new dates in September.

yes, for Ladakh sightseeing you need to pay for Environment Fee as mentioned in the video. No permit needed but this environment fee must be paid.

You need to follow the same process as a foreigner as I explained in the video. Umling La is not allowed for foreginers yet as far as I know. However, they can visit Hanle and stay overnight now.

Is there any permit for personal car?
Not for car but like I said in the video only for the people traveling to Ladakh Inner Line areas. PErmit for car was used to be required for Rohtang Pass which can be avoided by using Atal Tunnel now.

After Purne, we will travel back to Srinagar on the same route. And also Is june month is suitable for this road??
No need to pay for Environment Fee for that route. Well better take the other route on the way back from PAdum to Sirsirla - Singey La - Lamayuru - Kargil - Srinagar. This way you can explore other route too.

I did try to call a few people today and they have asked to check on 24th Apr, it will only work if there are other travellers with similar plans. Btw some of them said that it's just the beginning of the season so chances are less
That is absolutely right what they said since it is not even season right now.. tourists will be less and you will have to try and find some common group based on your plan only. Be flexible

Dheeraj Bhai, I took this online permit(environment fee) prior to my trip to leh... But for the whole trip, nobody.. literally nobody enquired about this permit anywhere neither in the checkpost nor by any officials... I felt a bit cheated 😊
Ha ha.. bhai we were checked at Sham Valley, Upshi, Loma.. three times it was checked on our tour september first week

Well like i said in the video that lot of people confuse environmental fee with permit.. it is not a permit but looks like you are applying permit as the site name itself have permit in it.. you just need to apply using the website and pay environmental fee

You can apply using the same photo id.. Aapko wildlife fee jo rs 20 per day per person wali hoti hai vo deni hogi nayi dates k liye.. agar aap same photoid enter karoge to aapko rs 300 wali environment nahin deni hogi.. system apne aap rs 1 kardega usko

I think it is same as other foreigners, Protected Area Permit via local travel agent is needed.

If you go from Atal Tunnel, then no permit needed for car. Just pay environment fee as explained in the video.

Why are Indians supposed to pay extra to travel within India, whereas other Indians who belong to ladakh can roam around freely without paying anything extra. Do we ask them to pay anything when they arrive in other states to study or travel? Instead, the government is providing them with subsidies with the lakes of Rs that we pay for tax each year. This is severe discrimination, and it must be stopped.
