Ok so I have been researching for weeks and agonizing over which guitar to buy to start off with and THIS VIDEO just made me purchase a Mitchell MD200. All I gotta say is WOW. Cannot friggin wait to get it. Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you, I don’t have a video sample of the neck pickup :/ sorry. I actually sold my Mitchell awhile ago, nothing wrong with the guitar just felt like I had too many guitars. There should be some samples on other channels I’m sure
This MD-200 series seems to be a pretty high value for money IMO, especially with that coil-split. I really like the look of the bride and the string-through body style. Really enjoyed the playing and the distorted lead tones on that solo! Great overview and thanks for the sub! I have been following your guitar journey for a while....keep it up!
First review I've seen showcasing the actual playing of the guitar for a long duration. Sounds good 👍. Plan on picking one up tomorrow and came looking for videos
Thanks! It’s a fun guitar, it’s attainable, looks cool, holds tuning great, breaks in fast. I guarantee Tim Henson or any great player would sound great on this guitar. It’s a capable instrument (good for beginners and pros).
Yeah I got a super inexpensive Mitchell short scale bass for my birthday like 2 years ago. Low price. It's worked ok. Short scale basses are a bit fret buzzy. Good for cheap.
Hey I'm just purchase one for me curious do I need a amp speaker , I have a regular speaker with proper connections but no amp . Any suggestions will be helpful
Idk if it’s possible to connect a guitar to a regular speaker, I could be wrong but I think it would need an amplifier. There are Vox plugs that you would plug into your guitar and play with headphones. That’s the most affordable option I can think of…or I would suggest a practice amp. A Blackstar Fly 3 is a good one
I bought my daughter the pink one for christmas. Ive been playing 20 years. Specs and play ability are shocking for $100! I may pick one up myself and put a SD pickup in it
The pickups on this guitar sound crystal clear, the sustain is great, and when kicked into over drive it’s a wonderful grit. I love the stock pickups but to each his own. Merry Xmas 🎅 🎸
I have a squier bullet strat & squier infinity tele hh and just bought the pink Mitchell md 200 and there is no comparison. The md200 is what the infinity hh tele should be . I’m playing a boss katana 50w with a removed Mitchell headstock decal and replaced it with a schecter decal and everyone who picks up the schecter doesn’t even question it’s authenticity. They just ask how much and where they can get one. Lol I just point them to the schecter C series it’s that good. A little bit of fret filing and polishing it feels like a $1000 guitar and sounds the part through a 50w boss katana or better.
Got mine the other night at a mom and pop. But damn, the fret sprout is insane. Then again, it's been hanging there forever, I wanted to toss some money at the, I don't want another shop to close. I even bought strings I don't need. God bless humanity!
I miss all the mom and pop, brick and mortar shops that were around when I started playing guitar. I also got the white md 200 from Brea guitar center new. Got the rest of my gear at the last mom and pop music store remaining in my area, La Hands music. As an ex Guitar. Center employee, I've had many guitars before but this plays and sounds great. Love the lightness of it, the reach of the neck, the width of the neck and it's playability. This is a great affordable instrument.
Any standard guitar/instrument cable will work fine to connect to an amp. I connected my guitar to my audio interface for this video with a standard guitar cable.
I want an orange guitar and this guitar comes in Orange I love the body shape I love the design but I'm not too sure about the quality control it seems to be all over the place and I'm sick of working on stuff however I found one for very cheap so I might just grab it because it's orange
@@Nov95 thanks for replying man, just took off my back plate today and found out that it dosent have a push pull tone pot, really strange, maybe someone messed up with which pots they put in. I dont really know what to think about that haha.
I got a white MD 200 from guitar center and I have to say this is the best $200 guitar I've ever played. This replaced a beat up epiphone les paul. It's a light weight easy to play great sustaining guitar. I paid a lot more for an Ibanez rg550 with a Floyd Rose. Love the md200 especially the neck. It seems flatter than a Led Paul and I can't stand strats. I vowed never to get a tremolo again and I have no regrets at all. This is a fun guitar that I appreciate more as time goes by.
Great playing
Learned a new scale from this vid
Awesome playing
6:56 cool tune Chris! A new fan here.
Thank you!

You’re welcome! Shred on 🤘
Detailed demo and decent sound, thanks bro. Do you have a video sample of the Neck pickup ?

I’m impressed by these Mitchell guitars!
@@Nov95 Same here, but sadly I can't find any Mitchells from the Scandinavian region....maybe in the future...
Who let Big Jay Oakerson do a guitar review? I'm gonna buy the sea glass green one
@@caseyjones5145 Good luck with it and I hope my review helped you!

Man...I have to give you props on your playing!! Good job.
Nice playing ! I want one of these .

Nice mellow jam. Thanks 👍
How much does this guitar weigh?
My educated guess would be 7.5-8 pounds. It’s a light guitar, not like a Les Paul

@@Nov95 thank you very much ,yes on a regular speaker no sound ,will purchase amp speaker thank youn
Dude, just got mine today. Sounds really good. Surprising! Playing through a Orange Crush 35RT.
Came here for the review, subscribed for the music!
Got the same guitar it’s my first guitar and my favorite
It stands for Canadian rock maple. Nothing to do with rock music.

Sounded decent 👌 nice demo too 👍
really like that bass around the 7 minute mark 🤘also that solo at 8 minutes 👌🎸

Oh yeah. Gotta glue the logo back, it wants to flop off. I'm guessing the shop needs a humidifier...

U can pull the tone nob to split the coils on both pickups
Ya you pull the knob and flip the pup switch to middle position. I think I mentioned that in the video
Best guitar ive ever bought for 100$. GET IT before they are gone! Equal to my Schecter omen elite
100? wth in my country cost 400
What cord do you need for it to connect it to the amp?
Any standard guitar/instrument cable will work fine to connect to an amp. I connected my guitar to my audio interface for this video with a standard guitar cable.
Dang, they’re selling for $120 now
Just bought one, not many reviews, but the one found , this guitar sound great for that price.
I know right I’m looking to buy my first electric and I love white so this is a good price and it looks good
What is the difference of the MD 200 and MD 300?
The md300 comes with locking tuners, a graph tech nut, and different color options.
I want an orange guitar and this guitar comes in Orange I love the body shape I love the design but I'm not too sure about the quality control it seems to be all over the place and I'm sick of working on stuff however I found one for very cheap so I might just grab it because it's orange
Bro why does my push pull knob not push or pull? Lol, this is driving me nuts, i dont want to pull too hard, was it hard to pull at first?
Pull on the third knob down. You don’t have to pull too hard

I got mine for 100 dollars a year ago.
