Congrats on the poison apple tree finish! I have never told Denise I design patterns lol. I mostly kit up Nora corbetts or buy fabric with no use in mind when I’m there
Happy New Year ladies! I’m not sure which I’m more excited to follow, the UFO sampler or the Dead Cats sampler! Aimee, you will have to let Elizabeth or Caroline nickname one of yours, lol!
What a great deep dive I just went on! Thank you for introducing me to Kentucky Pack Horse Librarians! I’m now obsessed with them, I have a new favorite super hero -C
@@Threadgremlins well then, if you like to read, let me introduce you to The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson. She's a native Kentuckian and it's a historical fiction about the Pack Horse Librarians. She did a great job with accuracy. Jojo Moyes also has a book about them, The Giver of Stars, nothing like the Me Before you series. It's also good but not as accurate and not as good overall in my opinion as the book Richardson wrote.
@@SarahsStitchySpot I always get a little jolt of excited when I see your name. Thank you for following along with us! I’m such a fan of your positive vibes thank you for being such a star
You guys had me laughing SO HARD!!! Caroline, so glad to find another obsessed with 100.3s. And I have already stitched The Rose and The Giant Pear once and am stitching it a second time. You'll love it! The colors in the pear are spectacular. Happy stitching and a very Happy New Year to you all! 🥰
Ooo! Aimee! I just started Poison Apple tree last night because my New Year, New Start plan fizzled because I didn't have the plain black Aida I thought I did and I too have that bag of like 5 of her patterns! Did you see her latest flosstube!?!? That new Aviary(?i think?) one she is working on with the dragons and the birds? OMG. STAHP. Caroline--The beads are definitely weighed. I used to own a bead store, and while it IS fun, the fun drains a BIT after weighing out the millionth baggie, vial, and container full of beads :) Although that DOES mean I have a TON of Swarovski Crystals that I'm glad I hoarded now that they stopped selling them.
Martha Walmsley looks sooo good already! Love your idea to just stitch the border corners… genius! I stitched The Visitor last year… so many more stitches than I thought it would be, very pretty tho
The MLIS representation from Elizabeth. From an archivist stitcher it’s fun to hear from people around the field/ use to be in the field. Lovey video as always, the Jedi X finish is stunning! Trying to start cherry magpie for my birthday start
I would loooove to have a Chatelaine help group! I'm starting my first one along with Fiberartsamy who's doing a stitch along for the Watergarden Mandala. And I'm scared.... Lol. I'm also kitted up for Siege of Bunny Castle and plan on stitching it along you all! So happy to see all your progress for the last year! You both have improved leaps and bounds in your stitching and I can't wait to see everything you do in 2025!
Love from a former high school English teacher - double masters with a library credential - who also had to give it up because it didn’t cover day care. What a world! Love all the projects and all the enthusiasm for new discoveries!
I just purchased my FIRST full Chatelaine which I have wanted to do for FOREVER! I haven't started kitting, because getting anything in Canada is stressful. I am thinking of just getting the beads from European Cross Stitch, if they are still in business with all the new EU rules... This is my first time listening to you with headphones on. I had to stop so many times to see if it was kids on the video yelling and doing kid sounds or MY kids... LOL I'm a mom of 6 (but only 2 live at home now since most are adults now)
Seriously excellent video. I have Martha and that Little Robin Design UFO angel all ready to go. I also ordered 100.3 for Giant pear just yesterday. We are like sisters from another mother. Have a happy new year!
Love your channel and watching you all grow as stitchers! The lighting was definitely brighter and I love all your projects. Also, for Elizabeth, I have the bell pull pattern if you would like another one as a backup. I then realized that almost all of my DMC IS from the 1990’s, so don’t stress about running out of thread, I have your back if you need more (I am officially an old lady as I type this 😂) Happy New Year, looking forward to watching you in 2025 (your neighbor in Burien)
Oh thank god. This has literally kept me up at night! I will absolutely let you know of if I run out of thread. As for the pattern… I’ve already made photo copies, and I plan to keep the originals somewhere I can’t spill on them. 💚
Caroline, have you ever tried Good Notes to mark off your pattern? I used to enlarge all my patterns and tape them together like Elizabeth does and use a high liter I was always so afraid I would drop the high liter on my fabric. Then I was watching 911 stitcher and she showed how to use Good Notes. Oh. My. Goodness! I am not a tech person but this is so easy. You can literally just take a picture of your pattern and put it in Good Notes. You can enlarge your pattern and mark it off as you go. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like Pattern Keeper or Mark up RXP but it does exactly what you would do with a high liter and a paper copy. There is a one time charge of about $10 or so but so worth it. You can also try it out for free so you can see if you like it. I use my IPad. Give it a try. I think you’ll really like it. You can go to 911 stitcher and it’s video 95.
Hey gals, I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your video content. You are such a great compliment to each other. Carolyn, where did you get your Martha Walmsley kitted I want to do that so bad after seeing you drool all over yours and I wanna have one to drool all over as well🎉
Saying Hi to a fellow librarian - although I'm a specialist Cataloguer, rather than a children's librarian. But I did run the library service and 'how to select' sessions for our Playcentre Region (NZ child-led preschool service) I have a funny story about the week that I was going to be a mobile librarian (driving a converted 1950s Bedford truck) - the local bus company taught us to drive (double de-clutching) - but I was saved by a great friend being hired, who already had an HT license - so I got transferred to Interlibrary loan (wins all around)
Saved?! Mobile service is the best! :p Driving a big vehicle is intimidating though, I get it. Especially a bookmobile… If you hit a big enough bump the wrong way everything flies off the shelves and then you just sit in the back and cry! Love that you got into cataloging. That’s a fascinating discipline.

I think they weigh the beads and from everything I've heard they do give you extra, I bought my beads from European Cross Stitch but haven't gotten to the beads yet on my WIP. I was also really surprised to learn that ECC is in the states. haha
Pausing to ask a question about Moggie Manor. Would a variegated green give enough variance in the color that you wouldn’t have to stitch a different color for the stems in the leaves? I’d have to probably purchase a couple thread choices and sample it out myself and that whole process would stall me from moving forward and it would probably be quicker for me to stitch it as is instead of living in the land of indecision but you might have enough experience to just already know the answer to that question. Your start is beautiful!
