Akaza does the same thing in his fight between Giyuu and Tanjiro when he gets a flashback of his human life in the form of his old sensei I believe and he attacks it because it’s an instinct to attack when he feels a hand on his shoulder and a voice in his ear (except usually I think it’s Douma and he does it because he hates him but this time I’m pretty sure it’s because there’s an unfamiliar hand on his shoulder and a voice is telling him things and he frustrated and alarmed and surprised because first: he doesn’t know what it’s talking about and second: it was able to sneak up on him without him detecting it’s battle spirit using compass) WOW.
