Offworld, Celldweller's fourth vocal-based studio album departs from the project's signature sound of aggressive guitars, blasting beats and ass-kicking intensity and delivers a journey of sentimental feels and emotionally gripping tracks, showcasing the intimate song-writing side of project mastermind, Klayton.
The album's 11 tracks range from the soul searching "How Little I Must Know," to the modern shoegazer "Echoes," the somber a cappella "Mother's Arms," to the acoustic guitar driven "The Great Divide," and the heavy, yet atmospheric vibe of "Last Night on Earth." The album begins and ends with the title track & reprise of "Offworld," which gives the album a narrative backdrop as a sci-fi adventure of leaving the world behind - perhaps to explore a new one or join life on the other side, closing the album experience with a familiar Celldweller lyric... "we will never die." The digital/CD version of the album include a bonus remix by Ulrich Schnauss (Tangerine Dream).

This album definitely isn't for me. It feels like it has lost a lot of the experimental sounds and polishing of your previous album entries. But, I support you as an artist who has a free will to try new things. Honestly, I don't think it is your best work - but stay playful. Keep pushing through and I'll be looking forward to your next sounds.
celldweller if it's made by you. You never have ceased to impress me, inspire me, and motivate me. And this work holds up to your reputation still.
A masterpiece
So atmospheric, I like the own little word sound in the background
This entire album sounds calming yet haunting all I can say is anything Klayton makes is a masterpiece.
The homage to Own Little World feels like it's come full circle.

Pre-ordered the CD digipack on day one, and just finished listening to the entire album. I'm very satisfied. You certainly jumped the great divide here by taking the risk to abandon many elements that most people associate Celldweller with, and for that you have my eternal love and respect!
I am always searching for that otherworldly feeling in music... and I always end up back here. Though we may be stuck on this planet, Klayton's music is a vessel for the mind.

I love listening to this song on dark autumn or winter evenings in my car. Those lyrics always make me wanna drive far away from home without looking back. Fantastic atmospheric piece of art.
My winter soundtrack. The whole album is an atmospheric masterpiece and listening to it from front to back is like a journey to a place far away from here and now.
This whole album was amazing! I remember driving through the SouthWest with this album on repeat - while driving through the vastness of the desert, I was looking forward to new beginnings of my life, as my life was falling apart: my wife and I were on the edge of divorce, COVID hit, and driving to the East Coast to start new with a opportunity to start new. Thank you, Klayton. Thank you for being my side-kick through my cross-country drive.
Maybe it's the fact that I've been on a Borderlands kick lately, but this sounds like something that SHOULD be in the new Borderlands 3 when it comes out. Imagine this as part of the opening cutscene. That would be amazing. Klayton, if you can, get your people to call their people. This could be a thing!
He should've been contacted to do Blade Runner too.
I think a lot of his older music (Wish Upon a Blackstar, End of an Empire) really fits Warframe. It would be nice to see developers/publishers implement more of Klayton's music into games.

I understand the whole golden rule of "to each their own", dude, but... that's really contemptible... I'm pretty sure the issue here is the wording and I'm likely overanalyzing this but still. That's... that's just... distasteful..
i could kiss you for the short but sweet mothers arms track. it really resonated with me. i love those multi- autotune intertwined vocals. loved them ever since ive heard the seven sisters the first time.

This song and this video make me imagine that I depart from the reality I know into the uncharted territory of the universe, the epicness that humanity has yet to see, waiting to be found and cherished like the treasure it is.

This is so inspiring.
I love this. It isn't amazingly fast paced or head bobbing but it offers something else in return. It slows things down and lets you think while reflecting. It tugs at the heart and stimulates the mind. The repeating verses allow a simplicity that lets you just feel. I love it Klayton. I always look forward to your art. Keeps me on my toes.

So it's unlikely that anyone will pay attention to this comment but this album is kind of special to me. In retrospect, it feels like a bridge between Celldweller, Scandroid, and FreqGen, and It evokes a kind of feeling I can't quite explain

Super excited as always getting the "an updated version of..." e-mail. Just gave the album a full listen and I have no regrets pre-ordering. It's such a moving combination of production and song writing on a whole new depth and level, thanks for bringing the feels Klay. Also, after hearing the Awakening With You vocals so much during the Scandroid remix contest it was awesome getting to hear your own cover of yourself, really gave the song a new feel and vibe.

Huge props for making a change to your overall musical sound in this album and still making something amazing. I wont lie I loved your original sound more than this new offering but it is still very good. I would have expected this sound from one of your other projects and not the Celldweller label.
You have not lost a fan in me but I would love an album with both of these sounds, allowing some good diversity in the album itself and having more sounds to soundtrack our lives.

Although a fan of your older and more hardcore/fun tracks like Switchback, Own Little World, Lucky One and so on, i've always loved the certain kind of sound and atmosphere that your songs like Under My Feet and Against the Tide have brought. and now a whole album based on those types of songs is coming and i couldn't be happier
you lost me for a while when you started to experiment with the dubstep side of things, not my personal cup of tea. but this album is sounding so promising, i feel i could listen to it for hours. and the Own Little World remix has me so excited that imma go buy a shirt.

You certainly don't disappoint. Listened to a few songs from Celldweller and Circle of Dust, all of which sounded amazing. :D
i found Scandroid via Spotify Discover Weekly, the song was Empty Streets and after reading the comments after about 3 days I found Celldweller and CoD and a year later, im still listening to him,
