I learned to sail at the Alum Creek Sailing Association, and now we sail all around the islands of Lake Erie until 2020, then we head south 😊. Great to see our home sailing grounds on a channel besides ours. 👍
SAILING PAU HANA that’s awesome! It was a perfect place to learn to sail and we still miss it. Hope we cross paths eventually. Thanks so much for watching!
I want to say thanks for the little video on LAKE ERIE. You see I was raise on Lake Erie back in the 60s,70s when at that time it was dying and only could see two feet in the water. Also my Father told me to respect Her at all times. I use to go to Put-In-Bay in a 12 foot boat that could not be sunk. Thanks again it brought good times with my Father and Mother now they are looking down on me and May they watch Down on you Two and family as you sail. I trying to find my way into Sailing and be with the winds from Mother Nature. GOD BLESS
gregory h you’re welcome! And stay tuned because we have at least two more videos at Erie coming up. :-) Thanks so much for watching and happy we could bring back some memories. And yes we DO need to take care of Mother Nature. Cheers to you!
thanks for the reply back and can't wait for more. Did you Guys and Gals catch any Football? (lol you see Small Mouth Bass are called footballs when they jump out of the water. Plus they are shape like one. I would go to Put-In -Bay from Catawba Island in my 12 foot Boat but always had life Jacket on. And use to SURF when she kick up her Heels. WOW that was the best days of my life. GOD BLESS ALL
Mr&Mrs SailAway : Do you know if your Friend would Teach a old Dog the Art Of Sailing? You see I would love to learn to Sail to see if I like it and see what I need help in Sailing. I am getting close to retirement but lost my job in 2012 and can't find full time job. So I would like to learn to sail the Great lakes so that when I am good at sailing do what you two do. I just getting tried of how our USA going these day. Please forgive me on all my reply to you. Also is Copper Coat the best to cover the bottom of Sailboat? I was told it last 10 years. Again sorry for all my reply to you Site. thanks Greg
No worries, we love comments! Most of my friends up there work full time so I don’t think they’d be able to do that, but there are definitely places up there to learn, many of them free. Google sailing lessons and I bet you’ll find a lot.
Well chit... Take me back to Bay Week. I love everything about this, but the night life footage and shenanigans of skulling, docking, showing up late takes me back. Come on July!!
I'm trying to figure out where I was. I was definitely there friend from my club was the ILYA commodore last year. They were taking pictures of me coming into the bay I think Wednesday morning. I dont see myself in the mooring field however. Hmmm 77 days to launch day for us but who is counting? Ahh.. Sail week I found it. You guys were in PHRF E
Trying to respond to you other comment on the other video but for some reason it's not on there! Only in our notifications. That's hilarious that your air horn is in our video! Lol. One thing we truly miss about Ohio is the Put In Bay craziness, especially that weekend. Thanks for watching and identifying your toots!
Did enjoy your second Lake Erie video looking forward to the next ones you're not missing nothing up here in the Great Lake State middle of January brrr cold. A couple of questions did the the toe heal up fine and I really enjoyed your version of Southern Cross how long have you been playing the guitar hope you still have the 80s in Jensen Beach cheers
corey haynes the toe STILL hurts! Lol. But is basically healed up. Thanks for asking. I’ve been playing for about 30 years - it was my profession for about 6 years not too long ago.
