This was actually how they used to do it. There was one case where a Senator spoke on the Senate floor for 24 hours straight to try and filibuster the 1957 Civil Rights Act. But now, it just evolved to whether or not you have enough votes to overcome the filibuster.
I think America would much like to hear what some of our senators really think of their constituents. Get them talking about helping the poor and oppressed for long enough, and those euphemisms they love so much would wear away into being overt.

Get rid off all those things that limits democracy, like these things, and having election day on a work day, and having long lines so people have to take time off work to vote. Any party that creates or upholds a lot of rules and loopholes to stop the will of the people, should never be supported.
Problem is Republicans love it because it means they get to keep power. Without it, they would lose, so they do everything in their power to keep the status quo.

I was texting my Korean cousin last night and he said the same thing. He said he doesn't understand why (some) Americans think America is the only country in the world and why they think it's the greatest when it's far from being the greatest country in the world and I had to agree.
This really is a great country, maybe you don’t realize it until you see other ones. For example, being able to point out the flaws you see in our system without being executed or your family put in labor camp. Even with our flaws, this country is worth fighting for, and I’m willing to do it again if necessary. Happy to have any other able bodied/minded American by my side, regardless of political views, if you’ve got the fortitude.

The best explanation for filibuster is that neither republicans nor democrats are in charge. The big corporations give Bribe (Campaign Contribution) to both parties and control the agenda. Impeachment in the House only requires a majority to move it to the Senate for a trial. Removal from office is an explicitly high bar in the Constitution, requiring a 2/3 majority of the Senate - that 2/3 is different than the filibuster as it is actually in the Constitution. The filibuster is simply a procedural rule, similar to what one might find in 'Robert's Rules of Order.'

Let people vote by mail. Make it clear for people if they are eligible to vote (because every year there are people that discovere that there vote wasn't counted because of some obscure legislation).
